If you get the concept behind it, Moses is supposed to be the kind hearted and friendly good guy just trying to free his people, especially trying to convince Ramses to end the suffering of his own people.
Ramses is the evil and mad tyrant who allows his own people to suffer because of his pride.

From what I've read, “God hardened Pharaoh's heart" was actually a translation error from the Hebrew, it should read “Pharaoh hardened his heart against God." As for the death of the firstborn, remember that when Moses was born the Egyptians had done the same thing to the Hebrews, in no uncertain terms God was telling them, “Let them leave or you will suffer as you made them suffer." For the other points, I don't have much of an answer for that, faith ain't always pretty.

F D you do realize that when the Hebrews rebelled against God they got an even worst fate? You think the Hebrews are free from this oh hell no! No one is free from death as it said every one deserved to die because of sin because in the life we live in doesn’t matter how long you live or how much you try to keep your hands clean the moment you see the true colors of the world of man you’d have already been tainted and defiled from all the bloodshed and senseless violence we Humans originally pursued

Egyptians have a lot of repentances about these "issues" XD For example: They should have been EVEN MORE cruel, rude & evil with Moses & his people. Cause yes: Egyptian gods predicted the evil future that the rise and empowerment of Christianity would bring to the world. That was the reason of their tyranic attitudes XD

  • @anzai8061
    @anzai8061 2 роки тому +214

Can we just talk about for a moment, how they both embodied the characters from the movie with perfection? Caleb played Moses from the movie with pure accuracy. Using his grief for hurting his brother on behalf of someone else, in his facial, and body gestures, even mouthing no over and over when Jonathan was playing his part. And on topic of Jonathan, his voice was perfect for the role of Ramesses. The cruel, and evil parts of him in the movie are shown perfectly. His movements are pure gold on top of it. I'm not religious in any way, but oh my gosh, this movie, and the song, is gold. (I'm well aware this video is quite old all things considered, but I'm in awe anyways)

I wish there were more songs like this, where the hero and the villain just square off, crack their knuckles and start throwing punches. In my fantasies Jonathan writes a whole opera around this chemistry. When John and Caleb are backing each other up that’s great enough, but when they are going to war it’s downright electric

    Since you
    Refused to free
    My people.
    All through
    The land of
    Egypt.
    I send a Pestilence and
Plague into your house, into your bed, into your streams, into your streets,
Into your drink, into your bread, Upon your cattle, on your sheep, Upon your Oxen in your
Field, Into your dreams, into your sleep, Until you break, Until you yield, I send the swarm, I send the horde.
    This saith the lord
    Once I called you
Brother, Once I thought the chance to make you laugh
    Was all I ever wanted.
I send the Thunder from the sky, I send the fire raining down.
And even now I wish that God had chose another serving as your foe
On his behalf. Is the last thing that I wanted.
I send a hail of burning ice
On every field, on every town.
This was my home. All this pain and devastation. How it
Tortures me inside, All the innocent who suffer, from your stubbornness
and pride(I send the locusts on a wind). Such as the world has
Never seen, On every leaf, on every stalk, Until there's nothing left of green.
I send my Scourge, I send my sword, Thus saith the lord.
    You who I called brother
    Why must you call down
Another blow? I send my scourge, I send my sword
(Let my people go...) (Thus saith the lord)
    Thus saith the lord...
    You who I called brother.
    How could you have
    Come to hate me so?
    Is this what you wanted?
I send the swarm, is send the horde
(Then let my heart be hardened.)
    And never mind how high
The cost may grow: This will still be so: I will never
Let your people go(Thus saith the lord) (Thus saith the lord)
I will never let your (My) People go...
