We need more movies with more darker themes (of course with some light as well). It need to be more realistic than just light and joy. The Prince of Egypt is one of my favorite 2D films.
I'm fine with darker themes, just as long as good wins in the end. I'm sick of movies that just want to leave you depressed. Right now I'm experimenting which different kinds of plots to see how dark I can go and still pull out to make a happy ending.
So like Disney back in the day when they made things like The Hunchback of Notre Dame? Honestly it was dark, but... it was life and had that sweet realistic bitterness
Yes. Dark animated movies with a bit of realism mixed in. Most people have this weird idea that cartoons or anything animated is supposed to be for kids when in fact, cartoons were first made for adults.
Peter McCartney I am not sure how I would feel if they changed it to a metal cover or anything else though. Not to mention the male part is mostly chorus, so there's not really much incentive for Hyles to do a cover with a group if he's undoubtedly going to play second fiddle. Still like to hear it though

This is so dang good! I love the difference between Caleb and Jonathan's voices here and how perfectly emotive their performances are. So glad I subscribed to you, Caleb!
WOW My favorite song in any musical Disneyesque movie brought to life and my word this is awesome. Edit: I really like how Jonathan's eyes from the side looks yellow, adds a look of malice to the pharaoh.
"You who I called Brother. How could you have come to hate me so?" "Then let my heart be hardened! And nevermind how high the cost may grow! This will still be so!" heart breaking lines tbh.
More like one that can decently compete. I contend that multiple Disney films outmatch Prince of Egypt, and that Prince of Egypt is the only really good one.
Oh man, Caleb using his Cinnamon Roll powers to play the wide eyed innocent hero, opposite Johnathan’s growling demon, a dynamic complicated by their brotherly bond. I wish there were more songs like this, where the hero and the villain just square off, crack their knuckles and start throwing punches. In my fantasies Jonathan writes a whole opera around this chemistry. When John and Caleb are backing each other up that’s great enough, but when they are going to war it’s downright electric

I forgot mine 1 day and played it blasting on my phone in school cuz idc... some students sang along and some didnt know what to do with a metal song saying THUS SAITH THE LOOORRDDD
Every time I've listened to this I've tried to put my finger on why I prefer it over the original, and I've finally figured it out: it's that last build and up note - in the original it frustratingly stays quite flat with vocal progression, whereas you do what this song needs and belt out that last note going up, and it really makes all the difference.
I didn't click on the notification for a full minute, my jaw was dropped and then I was smiling and my finger just kind of hovered over my phone as my mind attempting to understand just how amazing those words were. Like, my heart sped up a bit. I think there may have been happy tears.

You DO know what “massacre” means, right?
They need to do a band together. Maybe make a compilation album with both Caleb's & Jonathan's song covers in it.
I was ten when this movie came out. It was the greatest masterpiece my young mind could comprehind at the time. I cried so hard at this scene. All the hate and love and betrayal in one song. Too much for a little kid.
After the first time my sister saw this for the first time she asked our father: Isn't that God guy a bit evil?
Smart kid she was.

You should do a collab with Caleb or Jonathan!
I think the reason why this song always gives me chills, no matter if its a metal version or the original is because, in essence it a song of ultimate judgement. Judgement being one of the strongest feelings one can possibly experience.
I don't remember if I commented this one or not but I'm shook. It's amazing. My pores are clear. My soul is cleansed. My pants from highschool miraculously fit. The sun is shining. God is good. This cover is hashtag blesst

I've been watching this for like a year from now and had JUST NOTICED THAT THE PHARAOH IS WEARING A SUIT

AuFish SD it’s “Until you yield”

I love how in certain shots, Jonathan's eyes look gold

I didn't notice , but now that you say that..
And he only blinks like 3 times total, in the whole video.
How Jonathan is dressed here is probably how modern pharaoh would dress today lol
Thus saith the Lord:
Since you refuse to free my people
All through the land of Egypt...
I send a pestilence and plague
Into your house, into your bed
Into your streams, into your streets
Into your drink, into your bread
Upon your cattle, on your sheep
Upon your oxen in your field
Into your dreams, into your sleep
Until you break, until you yield
I send the swarm, I send the horde
Thus saith the Lord
Once I called you brother
Once I thought the chance
to make you laugh
Was all I ever wanted...
I send the thunder from the sky
I send the fire raining down
And even now I wish that God

Serving as your foe on his behalf

I send a hail of burning ice
On ev'ry field, on ev'ry town
This was my home
All this pain and devastation
How it tortures me inside
All the innocent who suffer
From your stubbornness and pride...
I send the locusts on a wind
Such as the world has never seen
On ev'ry leaf, on ev'ry stalk
Until there's nothing left of green
I send my scourge, I send my sword
Thus saith the Lord!
You who I called brother
Why must you call down another blow?
I send my scourge, I send my sword
Let my people go

caleb dresses like a shepard (goes with theme) johnathan wears a pharoh's crown and wears a business suit (somewhat goes with theme)
Don't all politicians wear suits? Even in Egypt this is true.
@@seankrkovich2869 yes but the suits can be different. Imran Khan is usually seen in Shalwar Kameez or Sherwani. Modi usually wears Kurta Shalwar or Shalwar Kameez. Arab rulers usually wear whats called a Toop.
Ramses: Bro I ain’t letting your people go.
Moses: Hold my wine.
We need more movies with more darker themes (of course with some light as well). It need to be more realistic than just light and joy. The Prince of Egypt is one of my favorite 2D films.
KickUp HammyDude Actually, I've watched the bonus features from the movie and they actually mix 3d animation in there a little bit
I'm fine with darker themes, just as long as good wins in the end. I'm sick of movies that just want to leave you depressed. Right now I'm experimenting which different kinds of plots to see how dark I can go and still pull out to make a happy ending.
Brave Little Toaster anyone?
So like Disney back in the day when they made things like The Hunchback of Notre Dame?
Honestly it was dark, but... it was life and had that sweet realistic bitterness
Yes. Dark animated movies with a bit of realism mixed in. Most people have this weird idea that cartoons or anything animated is supposed to be for kids when in fact, cartoons were first made for adults.

Peter McCartney I am not sure how I would feel if they changed it to a metal cover or anything else though. Lizzy Williams No prob Liz, now remember that not everyone named Mohamed is a close minded dick, it just hasn't been a good 20 years for the squad.
I like how Caleb and Jonathan voice their characters. Caleb singing in tge style of the og song. And Jonathan with a more death metal voice, which perfectly fits the rage of Ramses.

MisterGeof God loves people the reason why God send the Plagues because Ramses wouldn’t let God’s people Go and the reason why God kilted all the first born is because the pharaoh killed babies so God killed the first born to show people’s and Ramses what God’s people went through God does not like sin so he brought Justice but still When he killed the first born it really Hurted God but he still had to do it to let his people Go to a good place. P.S sorry for spelling somethings wrong I’m not good at spelling
As a Christian, I personally found the animation to this part of the story far scarier than any fake horror movie out there. Still, the song brings good nostalgia from my childhood! I love the cover; your voices compliment each other’s incredibly well ^^

Hands down Mulan is my favourite Disney movie ever, but things like The Little bloody Mermaid have nothing on PoE:) לביא גלזמן
More like one that can decently compete. I contend that multiple Disney films outmatch Prince of Egypt, and that Prince of Egypt is the only really good one.
Peter McCartney isn't this their only musical? Besides that Trolls movie?
Agent Silver518 2.0 didn't dream works produce Camelot as well? That was a good one
Matt Sawyer you mean Quest for Camelot? No that was Warner Brothers.
It's one of the most intense song I've ever heard, Jonathan and Caleb do a perfect duo (ps : hot voice, Jonathan... ;) )
Guillemette Cagnat its hard to find voices that pair so well
Oh man, Caleb using his Cinnamon Roll powers to play the wide eyed innocent hero, opposite Johnathan’s growling demon, a dynamic complicated by their brotherly bond.
I wish there were more songs like this, where the hero and the villain just square off, crack their knuckles and start throwing punches. In my fantasies Jonathan writes a whole opera around this chemistry. When John and Caleb are backing each other up that’s great enough, but when they are going to war it’s downright electric
My excitement level burst a hole through my ceiling when I saw this in my recommended. I demand you sing me a new roof.
The Prince of Egypt is my childhood favorite movie. Now this is one of my favorite song
I love the ( Prince of egypt ) and the movie ( Exodus Gods and Kings )
I like the Prince of Egypt and the Ten Commandments. But I got admit the plagues sequence was my favorite part throughout the entire movie.

You are so right. I am an atheist too, but I love the things the Bible can teach us.
Pity, there are those dickheads who refuse to learn and say that religion is ruining everything. I have many religious friends who talked to me about things Christianity wants people to do, and it is awesome. A world without wars, hate and things like that is wonderful.

Actually one of the best covers I've ever listened to. Both of you are so talented, it gave me chills feeling all this love and hate at the same time. Awesome acting.
Honestly this whole arc of the bible reads like an angry revenge fanfiction.
Well, it probably is. Or at least, it is some sort of propaganda. The only area that is treated even worse than Egypt in the Bible is Babylon.
This is what happens when you enslave the children of God!
@Noon Yes, but I meant in a meta sense. The sort of thing someone would write because they were angry about another piece of fiction.
