Still annoys me that musical theatre is still seen as an inferior genre. 😢 Those artists who choose musical theatre should be respected as the artists they are. Their vocals are usually much better than those in the pop genre and they show flair and versatility as that is what musical theatre is all about. Would love to see pop artists do the same…most would flop most spectacularly!
Agree... though the 2 examples in this video aren't exactly standouts. Have someone broadway trained show up singing any of the belters from Andrew Llyod Webber and I bet they'll get 4 chairs.

The first fellow was very good, but more theatrical. Contestants need to remember that the judges can't see them. They need to impress with their voice alone.
The people that participate are artists in a certain way ..they feel they are and act as artists ..they express themselves because they love what they do ..although the judges don't see
First they're perfomars so for some other things in addition to singing are also important. Second they are on TV so to impress tv audience. Third even if they don't win at least they'll have their audition being watched over and over in videos like this.
