    The battle happened on February 7-8th, near the end of winter, so they didn't wait incredibly long for winter to end. Although the battle of Friedland happened mid-june.
    Seriously though, that would be strange, having to sit in a foreign country for days on end, knowing a huge army is waiting just kilometers away...

    19:00 it’s worth remembering that they wouldn’t have been swimming like we do for pleasure wearing very few clothes, they would’ve been fully dressed and carrying some equipment like guns and ammunition making them heavier. In the landings on D Day many allied soldiers drowned for the same reason of being too heavy to float and being in too deep of water

    • @mas9758
      @mas9758 3 роки тому +17

      @@someguy5048 blitzkrieg doesn’t work on large countries like Russia. Blitzkrieg depends on smaller fronts, good infrastructure and favorable weather. Mobile warfare either ends the war fast, or will never end the war. The flank of the tank charges through the Ardennes was really weakly defended as infantry couldn’t catch up to the Panzer 2s, and the only reason France fell was because their land was tiny and forced their troops to retreat by sea at Dunkirk. If that had happened with the Soviet Union, blitzkrieg would’ve been the downfall of Germany, and it was.
