This performance shows that Eurovision doesn't need worldwide stars to perform as an interval act. Their Idan Raichel Project's performance will do. They must learn from Kyiv 2017 where they showcase local/folk song with a mixture of modern music.

I saw her live in 2012 and she was incredible. Knocked the stadium roof off. Never heard a wrong key or anything like that. Her presence was ferocious. What happened here? She needs to get that operatic vocal coach back that trained her for Evita and the Ray of Light era stuff.

I think this must be one of the worst live performances from a supposed professional that I have ever seen. No wonder the crowd were muted at the end.

On her own channel she has put out a video with another sound to her voice in the first song. Maybe something with the technical things that she may use for her voice to sound better didn´t work and that is why it all sounded so off-key. In the video her voice sounds at least decent. It´s sad but these things can happen. Or she just couldn´t sing better there and then.
But Verka and all other winners were not singing live. Not to say Madonna was good, because obviously she was not.
@@tacom1 She should have had a play back to be safe so she didn´t have to sing badly in front of millions of viewers worldwide. It´s sad she didn´t do that if she wants to perform live again with her new record. Noone wants to pay for listening to bad singing. It´s all very strange considering her experience as a live performer. I didn´t like the autotune sound with the new song but the song was catchy though.

I can't rewatch this performance, it scarred me for life on the first time - but I'll leave a comment and a like. If you look for the positive things about this, I'd say 100 % of the actual ESC contestants had better vocals, and this shows it's not that easy to sing live in front of a 200 million people audience. After this, there's really no need to make negative comments on anyone's vocals or pitch on the show. Our modest little show may appear simple in the eyes of the pop royalty, but what we lack in grandeous gestures, we make up for in the talented singers.

Madonna should have performed Medellin like at the Billboard Awards. That would have been much better received after the 2,5 hours long Show before.
To come with an approach and theatrical Stuff was not the best.
And she rehearsed only one time for some hours. The ESC Acts had a lot of technical problems but they could been solved in the 14 days of rehearsals.
I watched the performance of Madonna yesterday again without the big Show before and liked it very much.
These weren't 'technical problems'- she couldn't sing.

Maybe it was her big coach and the corsett under it which left not enough air to breathe.

That was awkward to watch. The hype was bigger than the performance. There were technical problems which could have been sorted if a rehearsal at the venue had been done. Where has her confidence gone? Such a shame - it should have been spectacular, but it wasn't.

I think you're confused, last year was the terrible Eurovision. And just because your country didn't make it to the finals, it doesn't make this a "terrible" Eurovision. It was one of the strongest Eurovisions with alot of amazing songs and great show.
You can see reaction from all over the world (with objective people) that said how much they enjoyed and were impressed by this year Eurovision.
P.S Madonna was bad, no argue about that.

As far as I know we didn't have to sell 2 for 1 tickets to fill the arena , no complaints from the delegations , everyone had a great time .

I'm watching eurovision since 10 years and this was one of the best eurovisions, maybe even the best. The show was way better than last year for sure.
