Gov Soludo seems to be following Peter Obi's political ideology stylishly instead of his immediate predecessor but fails to admit it publicly. I am sure he Soludo must have seen PO's drastic changes in Anambra state. Had it been PO is still in APGA,Soludo would have been quoting or making reference to him in some of his speeches. I am thinking he wants to beat PO's record and possibly leave money behind for the next governor.
Peter Obi really set trap for Soludo especially when he said as a Professor,i expect him to surpass me 😁
It's all good..Na good governance we all want😊

How can the Nigerian government justify borrowing scarce financing with high interest foreign loans to buy luxury vehicles and yachts for politicians in elected offices? The same government could create jobs and save huge amounts of money by buying made in Nigeria vehicles. The Official Nigerian Presidencial vehicles should be made in Nigeria vehicles, that will showcase, promote, and advertise made in Nigeria Automobile industry to the world and Africa. All Nigerian governmental and state agencies, including the Army, the Police and customs should use only made in Nigeria vehicles and made in Nigeria products. That's one of the very ways you spur economic productivity and economic progress. The benefits all these is that it upscale the productivity of Nigerian workers that may lead to exporting these Made in Nigerian products. These are common- sense economic ideas.

      Tinubu’s administration began 29th may 2023.
      3 days later
      1st of June 2023
Kyari: No Money To Fund Fuel Subsidies Of Financial year 2022, first half year 2023
Following the recent adjustment of petrol prices by the Nigeria National Petroleum Company, many Nigerians have questioned the previous government’s claims that subsidy has provided for in the first half of 2023, which was expected to end June 30.
However, it has been discovered that ever since February 2022 the NNPC has been providing subsidized petroleum to the public WITHOUT the funding of the government.
Mele Kyari, Group Chief Executive Officer of the NNPC, in an interview with ARISE NEWS on Thursday stated that the company was yet to be refunded by the government for subsidised fuel, despite being budgeted for in 2022 and for the first half of 2023.
According to Kyari, “There’s a provision of N3.7 trillion in 2023, for up to half a year, but not a single naira of that has been funded.

    • @joshuafrank5838

Buhari signed the 2023 budget not Tinubu.
      1st of june 2023
Fuel subsidy not budgeted for in 2023 - Kyari tells APC
There was subsidy in 2022 but in 2023, not a single naira was provided for the purpose of financing the subsidy."
The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, has said contrary to speculations, the immediate past government of President Muhammadu Buhari did not make provisions for petroleum subsidy in the 2023 budget.
He said this on Thursday in Abuja when he met with the Abdullahi Adamu-led APC National Working Committee (NWC) at the party’s national secretariat.
“There was subsidy in 2022 but in 2023, not a single naira was provided for the purpose of financing the subsidy.
“And ultimately while we held back our fiscal obligations, we still have a net balance of over N2.8 trillion that the federation should have given back to the NNPC.
“For any company, when you have negative N2.8 trillion, there is no company in the whole of Africa that will lend to you, you cannot have receivables.
“The provision of subsidy is there, but absolutely there is no funding for it,” Mr Kyari said, adding that it was only on paper and does not exist.
This, he said, was the true situation of things, adding that the federal government could no longer bear the burden of fuel subsidy.
“If we continue, we will run into defaults and the defaults of NNPC is the default of Nigeria.
“Once NNPC goes into defaults and liquidity, it affects every borrowing done by the country, even the sub-nationals. Your lenders will come back to you and say your country can no longer pay,” he said.

      Under Jonathan’s administration
announcement by NNPC’s spokesperson, Ohi Alegbe, that ALL four refineries “will be fully operational from next month”.
As usual, some GEJ supporters/sympathizers lavished praises on him for his efforts to make those refineries work which are only manifesting with the announcement. To support their line of argument, they quote Ohi Alegbe in his announcement when he said that “The turn-around-maintenance has been on for some time. We did not just want to make any noise about it. The refineries will start production as soon as they have delivery of crude oil for refining,”
      1. January 2012 - FG Signs TAM Contract with Builders of Refineries
Worried by the frequent demand for functional refineries in the country as a way out of petroleum products’ importation, the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, has disclosed that Nigeria will this week sign a formal contract for the planned turn-around maintenance (TAM) of all its traditional refineries with their original builders.
She said in a statement in Abuja Tuesday that the contract or agreement for the TAM would be signed by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the original builders of the refineries.
And what did we get about six months after this news report?
      2. July 2012 - Two of Nigeria’s refineries pack up …others produce at 25% of installed capacity:
The four Federal Government-owned refineries in the country are producing refined petroleum products at an abysmally low level. Investigations by SATURDAY PUNCH show that the refineries are producing at about 25 per cent of installed capacity. The investigations show that only two of the refineries - the Warri and Kaduna refineries - are partially functional at the moment. The remaining two located in Port Harcourt are struggling with faults that have prevented them from adding to the quantity of fuel produced locally.
The old refinery in Port Harcourt has not been in operation for several months, while the new refinery, which before now was contributing to the quantity of locally-refined products, has also stopped operation because of lack of electricity.
Specifically, the two refineries in Port Harcourt have not been working since January 2012, when the anti-subsidy removal protests spearheaded by organised labour and civil society groups took place.
      3. August 2012 - FG Signs Heads of Agreement on Kaduna, Warri Refineries
The Federal Government has signed Heads of Agreement (HOA) with reputable international contractors for a comprehensive maintenance of Kaduna and Port Harcourt Refineries.
Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mr. Andrew Yakubu, who stated this at a recent oil and gas conference in Lagos, added that the government was concluding the terms contract for the Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) of the Port Harcourt Refinery.
      4. December 2012 - NNPC plans to repair three refineries with N152bn
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation will spend N152bn on the repair of three of the nation’s refineries in 2013. The amount is contained in the budget document submitted to the National Assembly Joint Committee on Petroleum (Downstream) last week.
As usual, the planned repair didn't translate to any cogent result because by June 2014, our refineries combined to produce at 10% capacity:
      5. Oct., 2014 - Refineries Operated At 10.5% Capacity in June - NNPC
The country’s refineries operated at an average of 10.46 per cent of their combined nameplate capacity of 445,000 barrels per day in June, latest data from the monthly report of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has shown.
