What an extraordinary address from an outstanding economist of global repute! Soludo is one of our best. May God continue to grant him grace to deliver on his mandate to the people of Anambra, and Nigeria at large.

Thank you sir. This is a hard truth for our leaders, I pray they embrace all the recommendations, and the citizens. At some point it felt really hopeless but in embracing this truth is liberty and freedom. We all need to make adjustments for the future we so desire. Indeed we all have something to give to fix the nation. There is an emergency and we need to wake up, own up, and stand up to fight for our democracy. Oh, Lord, have mercy on us in Jesus name. Amen.

Mr Governor, that was an insightful perspective about Nigeria! I paraphrase 38:10 “…going back to our old national anthem might just be an indication that the pathway to our future is through our past” Which way Nigeria 🤷🏽‍♂️

Many people are ignorant of the dire situation we are in as a nation. Prof. Soludo's message, well articulated, needs to get to others in government. If we care for this nation, it is time for the real change and everyone must tag along.

With 24-hour electricity, the economy will come alive. Surprisingly, Prof. overlooked this salient factor. It is ELECTRICITY, Prof.

Thank you Prof, I am glad and impressed. Great Lion. I recall that we were in Alvan Ikoku hall in the early 1980s. I am proud of you. Thank you for this stimulating lecture.

One of the presidential candidates in the immediate past general elections enunciated most of what Prof. Soludo was stating during the campaign seasons. Some people felt he's just a mere alarmist....Now the chiken is coming home to roost. There's fire on the mountain and nobody seems to be on the run to borrow from the evergreen Asa. Nigerians wake up! We've slept for too long and now is the time to come together and take this country back from state captors!

How is it that every sector in Nigeria is not working as should? That is because we have a very flawed concept of electing leaders. We continue to fail to put leaders who have a handle on the problems with ideas on how to solve them. We have become a people of vibes, we celebrate empty sound bites and fail to ask our leaders the hard question. To push our leaders to have the political will to make urgent and needed changes. When things fall apart they will all travel to their abodes and we all will be the ones holding the bag. Let's do better as a people NOW!!

A very good policy by using IGR to fund recurrent expenditure, and focusing FAAC on capital and investment expenses. I think many start will do well

In spite of this financial mess, the govt is still spending stupidly; buying 160m SUV, refurbishing VP house for #19billions and political class living largely

Obi seems to be giving your ilks sleepiness nights after you chose someone quoted to have said na "statistics we go chop"..... continue to live in bubbles buddy! You must sleep in your bed the way you lay it. When the next cycle of elections come your ilk will still repeat same path you had chosen provided it is your tribesman whether hundreds of Soludos are on the ballots or not. So please Keep your thoughts to yourself.........!

Intentional systemic disruptions, mass mobilization and ownership by the public required, conflict of short-term populism vs medium to long-term disruptions required, pressure good politicians to win elections vs demands of statesmanship for the next generations

Kenya's governance vs Nigeria's governance cost is not the same. We must cut our governance costs given that the monies we have are borrowed... while producing more and exporting within and outside Africa.

How do you want us to believe that there is no money, when politicians keep throwing money around.. like renovating the house of the VP with 21billion Naira, buying SUVs for house of assembly members for 160m. Governments in all cadre of Nigeria are not sincere. Governments must be ready to spend it's resources prudently and wisely... Investment in critical infrastructure and production. Not sharing money.

Well spoken but was careful to absolve tinubu. As at last year end, ways and means had printed N7T for tinubu. Tinubu is still paying subsidy. Corruption by politicians and high cost of Govt are also issues.

The issue of no money here, no money there is our problem when the government keeps stealing crude oil on a daily basis and not remitting taxes as collected-these stolen monies would have reduced the deficit if completely collected and remitted. The government takes the blame because we were far better off in the past and these people brought us to this place of suffering
