These places are so important for the elderly especially men with the same mind set. It does so much to build friendships and help with mental health I take my hat off to the guys amazing teamwork amazing men. I wish I live in Australia to meet and work with these people so impressive. | Thanks Paul for sharing this video. I work on my own trying to get my boat ready for the water and wish I had this kind of support invaluable. To the guys a message you are a credit.
Thanks Andy, yes they meet every Tuesday and Thursday and for many it's the highlight of their week....probably also gives their wives a break. Thanks for watching, cheers Paul
I want to be like them when i grow old!! Such a great idea to restore and build such beauties. I always thought it would be great to build my own boat, but i lack the time right now in my late 40´s but im definitively decided to do it when i retire. Wonderful and inspiring video! Thanks so much!
Thanks Fer. Yes there aren't many p[laces where you can go and be part of a team restoring and building boats. Great for social wellbeing and great camaraderie. Thanks again for watching, cheers Paul
I'm not a boat builder either Paul, but I admire and respect all those that are. Your video productions are of the highest order, the time and effort that you put in are greatly appreciated. 👍⛵
What a beautiful job they did on the ptarmigan!! And I think the Hartley 16 is such a cute little boat. I love seeing them on the show. Thanks for showing us the boat shop again.
Lovely little boat, they scored a very nice piece for the transom. I wish we had something like this down here in South Oz, maybe should try and get something happening down the old Port Adelaide way
Thanks for being here to video the big day and Thus Spake Zaranthustra was the perfect music! Today is the first time it's been back out of the carport because it's just been too windy to work on rigging and, if I'm honest, the wind was the perfect excuse to take some time off after a near solid 18 months! So it' will be a few more weeks yet as the wind still isn't really obliging
Hi Steve Yep I talked to Bill today and he said it wouldn't be this Thursday. But I might come up anyway and Iv Bill and maybe yourself if you are there or at your place. I'll txt you, cheers Paul
Yep, blue tooth to remote and built in battery, good for gradient up to 10 %. It would be great manoeuvring a caravan into a carport. Thanks again for watching, cheers Paul
Hi, I use Da Vinci Resolve 19.1 the free version....its very good. It has colour grading, Fusion compositing, and Fairlight audio mixing all included in the free version. Easy to install , both Mac and PC never crashes, but you do need a minimum of 16 GB of Ram. Free up dates and the second best thing is there are ton of UA-cam videos on how to use it....my favourite Mr Alex Tech. But the best thing above all, is it's designed by Black Magic cameras an Australian company. Thanks for watching and have a great new year, cheers Paul
You should take a look at a Swedish channel RAN sailing husband and wife world sailors decided to build their own 50ft wood cored boat .. built the hull upside down then had to take it out of the barn and turn it over ...just the two of them. Its nerve racking and you can tell hes a very focused guy. You guys built a really nice boat and beautifully. finished though.. Men with sheds is a solid gold concept.. especially with things like comunity progrcts and getting younsters involved.

SKL is a serious improvement of UA-cam. Apart from Starship news, UA-cam is a pretty dreary medium. The Rathmines ships will not sail to Mars. Yer the spirit is the same. To build a ship to sail to somewhere. Does it matter where? Not really. Thanks Paul!
Hate being a troll with old English words. I know by mils you were referring to millimeters, but a mil is 1/1000 of an inch, which would make 20 mils a tiny bit over 1/2 a millimeter, and 30 mils just over 3/4s of a millimeter I did enjoy the video, thank you
@@SailingKateLouise I’ve seen the .787 being referred to as the bore diameter of a 20mm cannon A meter is 39.36 inches So 1/1000 of a meter would be 39.36 times 1/1000 of an inch So 20 times 1/1000 of an inch would be just over 1/2 a millimeter The other response told me Australians use a different term for what 1/1000 of an inch then is commonly used in North America

The Ptarmigan looks awesome. Thanks Paul for video.
My pleasure, yep it's a great boat, should be sailing in a couple of weeks, cheers Paul
What a great facility for these guys to get together and build these boats.
Yes and there should be more of them, thanks for watching, cheers Paul
Wish we had a club like that in Cornwall England
@@paulgoodwin1201 It's basically a men's shed for boaties.... I don't know if they have men's sheds in the U.K.

Mate, when I got the shipment of ply for the build the first thing I did was to go through the lot and pick the best patterned piece for the transom

err... not sure you are right about that 1 mm is 1000th of a metre which is approximately .787 of an inch. Thanks for watching, cheers Paul
I've only ever known a thousandth of an inch as a thou. Common terminology in Australia when we used imperial.
