    How does it do in the rain? The Netherlands is a rainy country. Wouldn't want it intaking too much water.

    Hey man. Bolt rider here. Currently running a V&H naked, but wanna switch over to this intake. Watched your install, and didn't see you spray the filter with oil. Did you do that off camera?

    I'm trying to decide whether they get this air filter or the KN cold air intake for my Harley Davidson which will more offer more horsepower and torque do you know

    I take it the exhaust would mean an MOT fail. Mind you, you're in America. Will rain get in the new filter? Have you done anything about running on inner tubes? If you do get 13 bhp more, it will really fly.

      UK bolt rider here, I'm running a literal straight pipe atm that I've welded an
      O2 bung to. Never failed an MOT because of it and its a fair bit louder than this V&H pipe

    That massive air filter is a real game breaker for me on this bike. It would really be good to know how much that other one actually sticks out or bothers your knee. But I'm glad you mentioned it.
    For some reason this bike is really cheap, it's discontinued in the US. I think people are trying to dump them. I know it's a decent cruiser, and that's what it's basically designed about to get on the gas going straight lol. I know it's not for carving through the hill because the peg scrape, and also I guess another issue is the shock travel limitation.
    I want a z900rs but those are super expensive and there's hardly any around

    • @JollyPeanut
      @JollyPeanut  3 роки тому

      Z900rs would be nice, the Cobra air intake is less in the way than the original i don't even notice the cobra much, i am 6' 3" . I love this bike now i have it set up exhaust air intake & tuned it is great fun for blasting around the back roads through the mountain roads it is perfect for that, for the freeways not so good at speeds above 85 its a bit of a white knuckle ride and at 105 you feel like a real dare devil hanging on for dear life, it has more top end but that is not where the fun is on this bike, the fun for me is fast acceleration through all the gears on the back roads it is so much fun.
      Ref price they were a bargain price i am in SoCal my local dealer tried to buy mine back it would seem prices are high right now as dealers can not get enough bikes in due to the shortages in the market, same with cars, used cars are getting top prices right now.
      If i really wanted a Z900 i would hold of till the market improves then the prices should come down a bit.

    • @RSchannel777
      @RSchannel777 3 роки тому +1

      @@JollyPeanut good feedback. You're the second one who mentioned used car prices are up. I was aware of the motorcycle backlog, but not of the larger regional aspect of numerous products. I got a new job and I'm moving to Sacramento. I'm from SoCal also. I was going to live in San Diego but that didn't work out.
      So while I got on this street bike kick again a few months ago, I'm not going to buy anything in the near future. But what I did get out of it was really good research on the xsr 900 versus the z900rs for example. I like the Ducati scrambler colors and look. I have never had a true cruiser either like a Harley. I sat on three or four bikes at a dealer, right away I noticed one of them the air filter was a drag. As long as I've been riding, I was also surprised when I switched between bikes and noted the comfort positions.
      I'm an older veteran rider, so I'm not into the futuristic Jetsons bikes with a paper seat lol.

    • @JollyPeanut

      @@RSchannel777 The SCR is similar to the Harley Sportster sitting upright which is comfortable for me also the small gas tank which can be a pain if your out all day you will have to fill up every 80 miles or so but the yam is quicker & much more reliable than the sportster. I do like the SCR900 old school style but modern performance i would have one of those for sure. The Ducati looks nice but i would not want one servicing can be expensive & i have seen to many video's of un happy owners.

    It is considerably smaller but that metal mesh seems to be wide open compared to a paper filter.
