Just a little tip: If it rains too heavily, there aren't any coffee shops or restaurants on the side of the road. You can visit any roadside porch you feel comfortable with. It is a habit of Vietnamese people and no one will mind when you come to shelter from the rain.
@@OnePackWanderers It's true, that's a very normal, a habit thing for vietnamese culture. I left Vietnam back in 1978 after the war. I have not gone back for a long time. Now I am in my 60s soon I want to visit Vietnam but don’t think I can travel like you guys do so I kind of living vicariously through your adventure in Vietnam . Thanks
That plant is called cây(plant ) mắc cỡ (shy) because when you touch it it closes up. Like many others, I am addicted to your channel and you two right now. Seeing these guys work from "behind the scenes" is inspiring. At the end of the day I'm pretty tired and just want to chill after a long day. Thats when they start to work.
Loved the video… the little plant Tia loved is called the Mimosa plant. Sometimes also called the ‘shy plant’ or ‘touch me not’. The leaves will fold up when touched or shaken to defend itself from harm… we used to play with it when young and even now too…
Wow. I couldn't believe how your stop in the mountains (11:20) and the reverence and appreciation you both had for where you were in the countryside and the beauty around you affected me. I literally teared up looking at the happiness and peace you both had on your faces. Although I'll be living and working in Saigon in 2 months' time, I really hope to explore and experience the more tranquil areas of Vietnam
It's annoying how much I smile when I watch your videos. I'm Vietnamese and moved to the states when I was 8. Life hasn't really given me much opportunity to visit and the last time I went back was over 10 years ago. These videos are an awesome substitute until I can go back myself. Have fun and be safe.
Da Lat is such a cool town. So much to see around the area. Waterfalls, flowers and fruit, and coffee on and on. One tip you may have seen. get a plastic bag and put it over you shoes and tie it. it actually works for a while in the rain. Believe me this is just the start of some of the most fantastic places you have ever seen.
Okay Vietnam is DEFINITELY my next stop after Thailand this summer. It is so beautiful! I can't wait to see Dalat plus you're very close to Nha Trang. As always, thank you for bringing us along!
As long as Vietnam is still ruled by the oppressive and exploitive Communist regime, her potential remains greatly diminished. For any 1% that wants to stay, 99% of the population wants to get out, and many have risked their lives doing just that (for example, 39 doomed lives found in UK container truck recently on the news, and that's only what's been reported), unfortunately. Yet another shocking and also recent example is that during the Covid pandemic when almost all countries assisted their citizens with financial aids in one form or another, the corrupt and murderous Vietnamese Commie regime saw it just as another opportunity not to help but to exploit its ruled citizens even more, essentially making money over the corpses of its citizens by presumably killing at least 30-50K of them, due to grossly misdiagnoses and being thrown into barbwired unhygenic living quarters for isolation, so that they had to sleep on concrete floor, even next to filled trashcans, with inadequate toilet, food, water, or medicine, like animals (searching hard enough, one is able to see shocking video clips on Facebook though the regime tried hard to crack down the leaks by Vietnamese citizen journalists), with the fake nostril Covid test kits, mislabeled as approved by World Health Organization (WHO) in Việt Á scandal, colluded by at least 4 different government agencies (Y Tế , Khoa Học, Công Nghệ, Quân y) and the top Politburo members, including Nguyễn Phú Trọng, Phạm Minh Chính, Nguyễn Xuân Phúc. Murderous Vietnamese Commie regime even had a thug murdered Christian pastor Giuse Trần Ngọc Thanh, like it has done with many other pastors across the nation. There is a reason why the current Commie Vietnam ranks at the bottom of the world in freedom of speech, (true) freedom of religion, and freedom of the press, barely above Commie China and Commie North Korea. There is no true freedom of religion in Commie Vietnam, as this corrupt Vietnamese Commie regime only authorized the fake organizations headed by Commie monks, many of whom were Commie Party officials, and those religious organizations not approved to be infiltrated by them or headed by their Commie agents are accused of malicious and nonexistent crimes and banned, with innocent religious leaders arrested and jailed, as in the recent case with Thiền Am Bên Bờ Vũ Trụ, a harmless Buddhist meditation monastery, for simply having many followers (hence, more influences that the regime fears it can't control) than the Commie Party's officially approved ones. Similarly, its passport ranks at the bottom, 89th out of 111 countries for a reason, barely above North Korea 104th rank. even below many African nations. For comparison, South Korea is at 2nd rank. That's what Republic of South Vietnam would have likely been ranked among at least the top 10 had it not been invaded and occupied by the North Vietnamese Commie terrorists, aided by Commie Soviet and Commie China. Search "cuop dat dan" (meaning "land-robbing of citizens") to see millions of footages across the country from North to South, spanning for decades, dated back to Ho Chi Minh's bloody land reform 1953-1956 that killed nearly 1 million North Vietnamese in only 4 years, or 250K people brutally slaughtered in torturous painful deaths (like being shot, stabbed, mutilated while being alive, or heads being plowed over by water buffaloes while bodies being buried underground) each year on average to rob their lands and homes. Even today, if the rightful owners refuse to have their homes or lands robbed, the ruthless Vietnamese Commie terrorist regime simply jail or massacre them, have tractors run over their bodies or openly assassinate them in their own homes. When it comes to robbing, these barbarian Vietnamese Commie bandits even prey on each other, just as the recent case with then 84-year-old Mr. Lê Đình Kình, a 55-year-Commie Party veteran from Dong Tam, near Hanoi, that got shot dead at 3am in his own home by the Vietnamese Commie terrorist regime. When his wife Mrs. Dư Thị Thành refused to lie about the incident as ordered, the Vietnamese Commie terrorist police brutally tortured her (see more details from "dandongtam" on Facebook). The corrupt Vietnamese Commie government officials routinely dine on lavish gold-plated Salt Bae steak $100K per meal with blood money not just from taxpayers but also from robbed-lands and robbed homes recently drew international condemnations, while many Vietnamese citizens, including elderlies in their 60's and 70's as well as kids as young as 6's to 16's selling lottery tickets on the streets to survive on $2-3 per day. Even Phạm Nhật Vượng the richest man in Vietnam (via his VinGroup) made the bulk of his wealth mainly by colluding with the barbarian Vietnamese Commie regime in selling their robbed-lands from Vietnamese citizens. Travelers to Vietnam in her current form (not at all like this before the Communists took over) should keep this in mind. Behind the beauty of the land and smiling faces at popular tourist destinations, there are a lot of darkness and tears, bloods, sweats, sorrow, horror, and sufferings all over the country.
Dalat is a must go. Vietnam was French colonial for 100 years. You'll get to see some churches and old building were built during the French time. The weather in Dalat is cold unlike the rest of the Vietnam, somewhat makes a visitor feels like EU and USA's weather. Their best drink is hot soy milk which makes it perfect for the cool/cold weather. Was there 3 years ago, i can't wait to go back and visit. YOu should go to Hoi An, it's so gorgeous place to visit, lot of tourists there year around.

Have to say your camera work and editing skills are superb. Totally hooked. Love the scenery and you both show such enthusiasm (not surprising - Vietnam is amazing). Holy Moly, that was an epic day.
At 4:28..2:30 - you touched the leaves, flowers called "Mimosa pudica". Vietnamese name: Hoa or lá "mắc cở", literally translation: "shy flower, or leaves" as you touch the leaves which started to close, being shy. - About coffee, we often to make "Vietnamese cafe" with Cafe du Monde (New Orleans, LA) , cafe filter with condensed milk in Houston, TX. It was nice to follow your videos to view landscape of rural and highland toward to Da lat, Viet-Nam. I hope all of you enjoy the beautiful landscape and food, tea, cafe. (Vietnamese often to call "cafe")
Da Lat is the city found by a French doctor in the time of colonialism. Da Lat becomes a vacation place for French to escape the heat from the south Vietnam. The last Vietnamese emperor also had his vacation retreat there . Da Lat is the city of flowers, especially roses. Da Lat is also the city of honeymoon. It’s a beautiful city with many French architecture. Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. Have fun and stay safe .
I must say the 125cc bikes that you guys rented seems to be some pretty tough buggers and very reliable. Great video as always. Thank you for taking all of us along.
You didn`t check out the national park in Cat Tiên . The small plant that closes up itself when you touch it is called ` Cây Trinh Nu Mac Co` in Vietnamese , which means `The Shy Virgin `. Beautiful name isn`t it . BTW , there was no pork`s intestine in this hot pot . It was a mushroom that you ate . That hot pot is made of chicken , many varieties of mushrooms and a kind of leaf called La E in Vietnamese , which enhances the flavour of the broth . The full name of that dish is ` Lâu Ga La E `, a specialty of Dalat . Can`t wait for more videos on your ride across VN . Stay safe my friends
Took a motorcycle (Honda Wave 125) tour around the Da Lat countryside with a Vietnam War veteran (Vietnamese) tour group. Awesome!! Especially the mad miniature roller coaster ride!
hope you guys doing well with the road trip and do not forget to bring some back up accessories for your bike and medicine also. Enjoys your moment in Vietnam. Welcome
I was in Dalat 10 years ago. We were not on a bike but I remember that it was hard ride and the last hour took forever. Enjoy Dalat it is pretty. And definitely cooler.
If you have time go and take a visit at 'in the forest cafe / restaurant' its really a cool place for some coffee! But i bet you are already at your next destination.
The rain got you again! It's not supposed to be wet at this time if year. Great to see you guys enjoying your trip. The views are amazing! Drive safe and catch you again ...
Definitely vicariously living through y’all right now, my partner and I are going end of June for 2 weeks and your adventure is making me so super excited for mine
I think you guys will love Da Lat...lots of people do. It's got tons of cool coffee shops, the Crazy House and the Maze Bar (I think created by the same person), outdoors stuff to do (you guys should go canyoning whilst there), waterfalls, etc. Enjoy yourselves!
A little bit sad that you guys are not in HCM city during May 8, 13 and 15. We are having a big soccer event on Nguyen Hue walking street. Best wishes to your trip, love yall!
Such great videos! Loving 'em. I booked an XR150 moto with Tigit before I knew of your channel and now your reports are giving me a great idea of what to expect riding Vietnam. Looking forward to more. Have fun, stay safe!
I thought I'd be less than happy with a 150cc. (I ride a Super Tenere, R6 and WR250R back home). But you know, the XR is the perfect size for Vietnam. Rarely, if ever, do we get up to 80Kph and the XR can do. I wouldn't do anything more than mild off-road though. Tigit runs 80% tires and the suspension would be a limiting factor.
Woa nice advanture! Even Vietnamese people rarely have opportunity to travel across Vietnam by motorbike. The sceneries are absolutely stunning, but in the northen moutains the view would be more and more epic I bet
I'm loving it. The views are beautiful 😍. You guys are Warriors. You dad is getting that OJT. How is he doing? That's alot to take in in such a short time. 🤙🏽

Chev and Tia's bikes are brand new. The XR has over 30k KMs. Seems to run fine though despite by the looks of it, its been rode hard.
Your trip just keeps on "Giving-" Loving it !!
Wouldn’t trade these last few days for anything 🙂
Love you guys , Thank you for taking me on a trip, stay safe 🛵
Took a motorcycle (Honda Wave 125) tour around the Da Lat countryside with a Vietnam War veteran (Vietnamese) tour group. Awesome!! Especially the mad miniature roller coaster ride!
You guys remind me of Kara and Nate when they were just starting out. Great job with your vlogs 👍
hope you guys doing well with the road trip and do not forget to bring some back up accessories for your bike and medicine also. Enjoys your moment in Vietnam. Welcome
Wonderful. V thankful for your sharing. Greeting form America 🇺🇸.
Has anyone noticed a heart in the sky? Go to 8:02. Another sign from God? 🥰
I can't wait to get to Viet Nam and take a trip like that. The countryside is still so beautiful like I remember it from over 25 years ago!
Tim & Fin did a trip like this a few years back. You guys may like to chat them up for some pointers. But it’s a very awesome way to explore Vietnam.

I'm glad when you guys had happy time, drive safe and have nice trip.
🇻🇳✌
I was in Dalat 10 years ago. We were not on a bike but I remember that it was hard ride and the last hour took forever. Enjoy Dalat it is pretty. And definitely cooler.
Love your videos...beautiful!!!Thank you so much for sharing, enjoy your road trip, drive safe..
If you have time go and take a visit at 'in the forest cafe / restaurant' its really a cool place for some coffee! But i bet you are already at your next destination.
Great adventure, really enjoying your travels and thank you, well done.
The rain got you again! It's not supposed to be wet at this time if year. Great to see you guys enjoying your trip. The views are amazing! Drive safe and catch you again ...
So we have heard! It seems this is kind of a freak cold front coming in from China. It seems to have eased up the last day or two though 🙂
Hope you guys don't get too wet. Loving the trip ❤️ Sleep well ❤️
Definitely vicariously living through y’all right now, my partner and I are going end of June for 2 weeks and your adventure is making me so super excited for mine
Really enjoyed this video guys! 🙂🙂👍👍
Saw on IG Tia has gotten a bike! Best to go slow till she gets more confident and steady. Stay off the road when it rains. Best of luck!
Your dad rocks!!!
Yeah!
I'm so happy for you guys. Such a beautiful journey that you both are on.
You guys make a moped look fun🥳
So cool, thank for sharing your trip!

Another great video guys. Enjoy!
Wow did you ever have the rain. Have fun on your two days thete stay safe. 😊🙏❤
Stunning shots again but the roads look a bit suss.
Take your time with the videos as we all will be still watching
I think you guys will love Da Lat...lots of people do. It's got tons of cool coffee shops, the Crazy House and the Maze Bar (I think created by the same person), outdoors stuff to do (you guys should go canyoning whilst there), waterfalls, etc. Enjoy yourselves!
We stayed right next to the maze bar! Small world haha. Dalat is an incredible city.
Awesome. Subscribed. Stay safe and enjoy the trip.
Have a good trip! Love you guys.
Waiting for the next episode about Da Lat
It's gonna be a good one!
Thank you from Việt Nam
A little bit sad that you guys are not in HCM city during May 8, 13 and 15. We are having a big soccer event on Nguyen Hue walking street. Best wishes to your trip, love yall!
It’s a good excuse to come back next year 🙂
Da Lat the best city in VN and it’s my hometown. Best weather and coffee
You have a very beautiful hometown, and there’s great coffee on every street!
We call those plants touch me nots in Singapore
Stay safe and enjoy Vietnam 🇻🇳❤
Great to see “ya’all
Love you videos. Be safe on the road, guys. The road from Da Lat to Nha Trang is also very very scenic.
@9.31/13.32 It is a kind of mushroom included in the lau ga
Being from the PNW, I thought I was experienced with riding in the rain, but Vietnam is on a different level!!
At least when it rains here, it’s not really cold! The PNW has a coldness that seeps into your bones (coming from Arizonans anyway).
Woa nice advanture! Even Vietnamese people rarely have opportunity to travel across Vietnam by motorbike. The sceneries are absolutely stunning, but in the northen moutains the view would be more and more epic I bet
this will be the journey of a lifetime for you guys, good luck and have fun ^^
I'm loving it. The views are beautiful 😍. You guys are Warriors. You dad is getting that OJT. How is he doing? That's alot to take in in such a short time. 🤙🏽
He’s a dang champ, Walt. Takes all the new stuff in stride.
@@OnePackWanderers well I can see where you get it from. Calm, cool and collected. 👊😎
I really hope you guys make it to Sapa as well, I know you love food and it’s all organic and locally grown up there.
The plants we Vietnamese call it "gai mắc cở" which means "shy prickily plant" .. :)
tired but very happy
Wish you have a great time in Vietnam💕
