- On a rooftop in the affluent neighborhood of Maadi in Cairo you can dine on Italian cuisine while overlooking the city with the Pyramids of Saqqara dotting the horizon. Come with me to Estro's and see what kind of cuisine is available here in the suburbs of Cairo.
Want to donate to the channel? You can buy me a shawarma! 😂 I recently discovered this website "buy me a coffee" exists and created an account, because, well, why not? I really just appreciate your support by watching my videos and I'm not asking you to donate, but, if you feel like it, now there's a place you can. Donations will probably just go to me making more street food videos. Here's the link: www.buymeacoff...

That restaurant looks fantastic. 25k soon GG🎉. Your so lucky to be living in Egypt ❤
Thank you Giselle for showing us around.
Have a great day😍
😍😍 Nice ...... yes prices are higher in Maadi ....... looking forward to the next video
Estro at sunset ❤one of the best places to be in ma3adi
Beautiful, but expensive. Another lovely video Gigi..thanks
Very broad question...tip for small dish...what might be appropriate? Thanks
Thank you Liz 🥰 Tip for a small dish, like what I ordered at this restaurant? I think it would really depend on the cost of the dish and the restaurant. And the nationality that is eating it. Europeans don't usually tip, or they don't tip very much, do they? 😅 I always overtip because I'm American 😂 And I like to make people smile. 20-30 pounds is fine. I think I tipped like 50, which is a lot considering I barely got anything. Honestly, I'm the worst when it comes to tipping. My bf is always telling me I tip too much, but I can't help it, I used to be a server for quite a few years in the past 😆
عزيزتي جزيل نحتاج تصوير من منطقة تلال الفسطاط ❤ شكرا جزيلا ❤🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬
What a wonderful video!! That's where I went to school! It's one of the prettiest cities around Cairo by far. The population in Ma3adi have definitely been influenced by the Expat community. Ma3adi in my opinion shows what a love of community can do to a city. Even your maitre'd's favorite places coincide. Lol. Anyway, that table at Lucille's is the exact table my friends and I sat at, just a long time ago! He was in love, she was happy and I thought the food was delicious. You are right, seems like everything is a little bit more expensive over there. They just raised the price of gas a little more. So everything goes up! Awesome video thank you!!
You whetted my appetite... you became a TripAdvisor guide... I hope people all over the world can watch your videos GR-EG
🙏
A great video once again The Italian restaurant looked nice and fancy and that food looked fresh and delicious salud
Looks really nice ,night time with the blinds open would look amazing ,thanks for sharing your adventures .
You are the best. I have a feeling great things will happen to you in Egypt. You are really an awesome gift for Egypt and Egyptian tourism. I love your bravery, the professional videos you produce and your narration always outstanding.
Best wishes to you.
❤️🙏
Addicted to your videos 🥰❤️
😄🙏
Flying to Cairo tomorrow LFG!!
Hi! You are one cool woman ✌🏾Love your channel/ content. You inspire me. ❤
nice italian place in mall attached to Fairmont Nile City hotel got some canoli there that was very good prices economical too
رائعة وفيديو مفيد جدا- نورتى مصر
Yum yum 😋 videos are my favorite 🤩
Heheh, thanks Nuba! ❤️
It's so hard to find a proper Italian restaurant in Florida but when I do find one, it's insanely expensive. I'm not spending a hundred dollars for some pasta lmao. Watching your video makes me wish I can keep my job here in the morning then somehow teleport to Maadi for a proper meal at night :)
Lol. Yeah if you're comparing U.S. prices, absolutely it is cheap. I also wish I could teleport! I would instantly teleport to Thailand for some delicious cheap Thai food.
I also need an instantaneous transfer of Ramen 🍜 from Thailand. Someone invent this device pronto. It’s like what Jeff gold bloom made in the fly but without the fly issue.
Giselle
Greetings
As Usual an outstanding video
Estro is expensive.
Prices is comparable to USA and Europe maybe but not expensive areas like Manhattan which is expensively priced
It is nice place
Thank you Hussein! Yes it is expensive, I agree. Like I said, seems like a nice place to bring a date for a fancy night out. Even though I only ordered a little, it was not cheap. But it was good. The other side of life in Cairo that exists! In Maadi 😅
Now I'm starving!
Cool Rooftop Place, nice view of some of those lesser known pyramids. Saqqara, is that in the Giza governate district? West side of Nile? Have a good week!
Yep! The Pyramids of Giza also on that side (of course)
If you go to Alexandria go to shaban seafood restaurant and ask for barboni fish. you have to eat that is one of the best taste fish you'll ever have. I go there all the time for decades. ❤❤
I've been to the restaurant, but I never got that fish, I got something else
This video was also filmed 3 years ago when I first arrived to Egypt and knew NOTHING about Egypt or spoke any Arabic 😅

Shaaban is the best
@@husseinabd6937 They were really good. Maybe I'll have to go back. See how much time I have

Looks great thank you ! I hope I get to visit this restaurant at night ( Estro )
If you ever go to zamalek again i recommend hana barbecue for korean food
It's not expensive and as authentic as it can get
NO. WAY. I have been there and it was horrific! I've never had worse Korean BBQ in my life!!! Seriously, it was one of the worst meals I've ever had in my life, I am not exaggerating. I can't believe you are recommending them. I used to live in Australia, which has tons of Korean food and Koreans living there, as it's proximity to Asia is very close. I had 9 Korean roommates, we got Korean BBQ all the time, I am very familiar with it. Hana BBQ is terrible. I'm sorry.
@Gventures really, oh wow, I didn't realise it could taste so different to people with different experiences. Then again, you have far more experience with Korean food than me, so u know better ☺️
What I had was the bulgogi meat, which I thought tasted interesting and different it had a sweet taste
The kimchi was AMAZING u can't change my mind on that
The tteokbokki was also good, but the best was the fried shrimp for sure
تحياتي🎉
Excellent Food Channel LOL love it, I stop by the street food shops at night, so cheap food and drink 75 cents.
Yep, showing the other side of life here in Cairo for the channel. You know I prefer street food.
Nice video as always. As an Italian I would say that this looked more than a salad of olives and tomatoes rather than a bruschetta. Quite expensive tho. Maybe the place was not upscale like this, but the 1$ koshery looked a better deal for me.
I agree 😆 Much more my style ❤️
Looks delicious! Have you ever had stomach issues eating salads or drinking the juices? I read so much about NOT eating salads or drinking beverages with ice?
Yeah I heard that a thousand times too from certain people around the world. They tended to be Americans, actually 😅 "Don't eat any fruits or vegetables that could have been washed in tap water" "Brush your teeth with bottled water" "Don't drink the ice" "Don't eat street food."
I've never listened to that advice and always eaten street food, fruits and veg, brushed my teeth with tap water around the world. But I do refrain from drinking unfiltered tap water. I've never had any issues here in Egypt, but I did in Asia. I spent 3 months backpacking Southeast Asia and then 5 months backpacking south Asia and got sick on and off. Ever since India though, I haven't really had any issues. I guess what they say is true, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger 😆
@@Gventures of course.. Americans and their delicate stomachs 🤣 or pretentious ways! I love your videos! I’ve got my friends and family watching! You take the “scare” out of Egypt!
@@dianefranco938 Hell yeah, that's badass, I take the "scare out of Egypt" 🤣The "scare" was silly to begin with. It's a new environment, that's all. It's noisy, the streets are chaotic with traffic, and there are some people trying to overcharge you for things around tourist sites. That's really it. Cry me a river 🤣
Greeting you in English costs a lot of money 😂
😂
الأسعار مرتفعة جدا
I know
I know , you wished there was a kid's meal in that restaurant 😂
😂 Or some shawarma. I actually wanted to get shawarma but the place was like a ghost town so I just drove away and went here
When you say prices are high are referring to USD or EP?
I'm in Egypt, of course I am referring to the cost of a meal in Egypt. Why would I compare prices of a meal in the U.S.? I live in Egypt, my perspective is not as a tourist visiting but as someone who lives here, and as someone who isn't making what I could in the U.S.
is this Maadi... the same as El Maadi El Gadida? or is that different? i don't remember seeing that many trees there.
Maadi El Gadida? I dunno about that, never heard of it. Masr Gadida in Heliopolis is different, if that's what you're thinking of
@Gventures ya... I've been there...nd the part of Maadi that's close to the nile has this cafe, "Grand Cafe"....Maadi Al Khabiri Ash Sharqeyah, Maadi, Giza Governorate 4210006, Egypt.
anyways...I get confused if Maadi and or Maadi El Gadida are the same or two different places.
@@sfguy_2k22 Yeah to be honest I dunno either. I know nothing about Maadi, new or old 😅
Some of these prices are still cheaper than Australia hehehe
Oh comparing Egypt to Australia prices?! No no....
@@Gventures lol, it motivates me to visit Egypt where ican spend less and live like a king for a couple of weeks in Egypt
@@gabymessih188 Ah. Well yes that is an advantage
Did they add tax and service on top of this price?
I dunno, I can't remember. Did I not show the receipt? If I didn't, I know I showed the menu. You can see the prices of what I bought and then see if the total is exactly that, if not, they add service charges.
❤❤❤👍👍👍👏👏💐
Hello Gigi. I do enjoy your videos. My next trip to Egypt will be next January. My wife and I would be more than happy if one night you would accept our invitation to join us for super. We would introduce you to one of the best restaurant in Cairo in term of quality of the food, the ambiance and the service. The restaurant is GRANITA located in Zamalek. We hope to get to meet you while we are in Egypt.
nice video ,may you tell us your origin?
I have said my nationality in quite a few videos. I'm American
@Gventures anyone could be American iam asking about your origin your background you look arabic
6:48 holy shit
She was funny, I like fun people 😁 Glad to see you're still watching my videos! Even if you are a whining little wanker
@Gventures your vlogs are fun, don't stop.
@@FilthySnob Lol thanks FilthySnob! It seems you are warming up, that's good to see. I certainly won't stop, whether my videos are well received or not. I do it because I enjoy it 😁
200 l.e for tomato salad - no way 🤣
Lol. Yeah....you can get a banging meal at Al Agha for that! Or enough foul and taamiya to last you a week or 2 😅
@@Gventures but Gisselle you pay for the ambience and the service.
Like any other expensive restaurant around the world 🌎
You had a personable English speaking waiter who accommodated and tend to your questions and showed you some of the landmarks that you could see on the roof.
You can’t compare it to a shawermah place in downtown Cairo
It is very much like Simond’s in Zamalek. You had Amani smart English spoken sales lady that could sell to the client and leave great impression
@@husseinabd6937 I am comparing the prices and nothing else, but if we're going to talk about the ambiance and the view, I personally don't think it was out of this world. And to be honest, I always care more about the food when I go out to eat more than anything else. The staff at Al Agha were very personable by the way, and the Syrian waiter spoke English very well. Also, that was in Giza. You don't need to point out to me that the waiter spoke English in Maadi and the pyramids could be seen, I was there and recorded it and then showed people on UA-cam what it's like. The waiter was very nice and the view was good. But the commenter above mentioned the prices and I am agreeing, which I am entirely allowed to have my opinion on the matter. Sorry if I sound harsh, but I'm getting the feeling you're scolding me and you're also just pointing out the obvious. So I'm going to share my opinion on that.
والله يا جيجي بتعب من الترجمه😅
I don't understand 😅
I guess he means the Arabic subtitles are a bit hard to understand 😅 I didn't see any subtitles tho🤔
@@samakashif5677 How can subtitles be hard to understand if you don't even see any? That makes 0 sense. And if you can read Arabic, then you will see in the beginning of the video it says to turn them on in UA-cam settings
@Gventures
I can read Arabic 😂
I tried turning them on but there were no Arabic subtitles available may be they weren't uploaded yet?🤔
I was just trying to interpret the Arabic comment that's all😅
Can you please just put in your consideration that there are families and kids watching you so please don’t swear.
Thanks from a father.
You godda a very artificial laugh please avoid it... be more natural.
Greetings Giselle, nice video as usual, It's nice to see new videos every time I open UA-cam. You inspire me I'm wondering how can you manage to upload regularly videos and do the subtitles and montage? How can you manage to do it in ease Thanks keep it up
Thanks doodz! 😅 But I don't do it easily. I spend ALL my time making videos. ALL my free time. I work teaching English and then I am always recording and editing videos. I only watch Netflix when I eat, otherwise I am constantly working. But I like making videos, so I am passionate about it. Most of the time it is fun, though editing some videos can be challenging sometimes
