It's like watching a horror flick I've almost drowned twice in the ocean from surfing and kayaking everytime I see this a like go through those moments my heart skips a couple Beats love it thanks for the video keep them coming send more waves to indicators
Damn...great captures of some of the most brutal wipeouts. I prefer to watch the great rides, but this is a reminder of what these guys are willing to endure in search of that great ride...
Those guys are batchit crazy!! Watching what they do, is absolutely INSANE! The whole damn ocean comes crashing down on them, disintegrates their boards, tosses them around in a million gallon washing machine, set on the "stone wash" cycle, then get rescued and quickly jetted into shore for a couple hits on the defibrillator. Once they wake up, what's their first words? I almost had that! Where's my board! BAT CHIT CRAZY!!!! lmao!!
I am in no way dreaming of surfing that spot. Much respect. I was "cringe" the entire time watching. I bodyboard a heavy onshore break...but its tonka toys and matchbox cars compared to these waves.
I was at the beach in Paia that day & 28th and thought I might die from the size & speed of the waves there. If I thought that was tough, Pe'ahi would have made me have a heart attack lol...wow. Glad no one got seriously injured.
I've been watching tons of these big wave wipeout videos and not a single one shows the entire process and how long it takes to emerge to the surface. It would be kind of interesting to see at least one piece of full footage.
The reason people don't die is because it's relatively deep water and while the waves are big, they're not too thick or voluminous, it's not a shallow break like Teahupoo which is also a very thick, heavy wave. Far more dangerous.
I am from Oahu, hawaii and I have surfed some of the craziest waves ever had some of the worst wipe outs, I have even surfed tahiti on a swell but I will say one thing, I am shitting myself for the day I surf jaws
Omg omg omg omg ! I almost died! That was the worst most painful most powerful wipeout ever! I can’t believe I almost died?!?………. Give me my board! I’m going back out!
I would like to know where this is and during which season. In which month you will have a lot to play. Help Please tell me, go up big. I want to get big up like this. Then try to try surfing. I don't think it shouldn't be difficult because you can play. I have to play. I am from Thailand. I want to know what beach name and which country is it?
takes lot of time to be able to surf here. this is in Maui, Hawaii. its called Peahi, Jaws. the date of the season should all be in the description of the video. aloha
Can someone with big wave experience tell me how its possible any of them survived and how their leashes dont break or if they did. I have respect for big wave surfers. I would love to go watch them in person.
in order to surf here, you need to have a full safety team setup. that means hire local safety team with skis n knowledge of the spot. when you do wipeout it can hold you under for 1-3 waves, 3 waves being very unlucky but possible. most experienced riders out here are ready to hold breathe for 2 waves and ability should keep you from taking 3 on the head before you come up. each instance is different when the dynamics change.number of waves in a set & where you fell off. maybe even ability of your safety team if you brought them with you. aloha
@@MyLifeBeLikeNow oh wow! Thank you for replying.. i didnt think it was that complicated lol, i always wondered what happens and where people go once they go under xx
@@claprain1029 ya its a popular question and even more important info to share so we don't get a bunch of people coming out unprepared & caused danger in the lineup & extra safety for people so that we don't send anybody home hurt aloha
This is what it feels like in my head when I surf 3ft waves at Doheny.
Gordon true
Lol same Dana point
THANK U 😂i can only imagine waves this massive
Watch nazare portigal 100ft
One of the best videos ever on the PAIN that Pe'ahi can inflict on the brave souls who challenge her!
Major respect to anyone paddling into 30 foot waves.

every one of these guys are amazing for being prepared and ready to survive a day like that

unreal ya 😲🤷🏽♂️🌊💦💦💦💦
Epic video. The carnage
CRUSHING. MASSIVE. THUNDEROUS. THRILLING. DEADLY. You guys are way out there !
Can't imagine the violent beating from falling on these monsters. I feel toasted just from 8-10' waves! Serious stones men! Serious stones!
And how tall are these?
I feel toasted by boogie boarding 6-8’ waves lol
All of that is so brutal. The guy at 2:20 ... That was insane.
WSL nominee for wipeout of the year.. Tom Dosland from Huelo,Maui I believe..
0:47 did that guy have back troubles afterwards? lol Holy sh**.

+NorthOCkook for real!
+Ho Stevie! l second that .. hard to watch.
Bravery + lnsanity = Jaws
3 people went missing and feared dead...

Hahaha ur right

probably cuz theres another wave in the set & focus switches from ride before aloha
How do people not die from multiple big wave sets crashing on them is beyond me.
There are plenty online. The search bar works y’know? This is a compilation.
Yeah I will just stay here on the shore with my frisbee.
Be careful. They could take your eye out. I almost lost an eye with my Pluto Platter, the predecessor of the frisbee.
Hahaha
lol
@@phapnui yeah! Anything that can go wrong will go wrong. 🙃
@@phapnui I guess I’ll go home
Wow! It looked like one wave hit so hard it actually snapped a board in half.
I could think of no worse feeling than realising you arent going to make it over that set and she's dropping on your head

YO it is the the wind in your face, the weightlessness, and familiarity with speed, that will getcha on these waves. Is why they call "dropping in".
That offshore gust is f%$&ing up everyone’s day.
Wow you guys that do this are crazy but I love watching the video's stay safe some how
mahalo for watching 🌊😉🤙🏽
Piccole onde paragonate a quelle di NAZARE' PORTOGALLO
pero peahi es mucha mas lindaaaa y perfecta especialmente cuando mide 25metros aloha
Damn, can't even imagine what that must be like!
OHHHH MYYY GODDDDDD
Honestly when I think of things like highlining, it seems terrifying, but it's also in a way serene, it's all in the head. THIS?!?! is CHAOS!!!

Hi
That guy @3.08 must've got ragdolled so hard
the ocean was angry that day, my friends!
A Seinfeld reference among wipe-outs lovers, that's great
"... like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli."
Ocean 30, Surfers 0. It’s amazing more people don’t drown out there. Good lord. The power of those waves. Must be like getting hit by a ton of bricks.
yuup we concur 🤷🏽♂️😲🌊 its more like a 4 story brick building falling on you but thank god its only water 🤙🏽😁🤙🏽
They are real heros to survive to those wipeouts !!!
Cheers mate. Be good to see a few of the makes. Enjoy Pipe tomorrow.
I'll bet Dosland is a scrapper, that thumbnail is mental...
Right the Peahi Maui is just being plain mercilous, swells gone madd to
Pure respect for these blokes
How these dudes don’t die instantly in some of these is mindblowing
so much anxiety watching this
Those swells are intense. 30ft straight up. 40 to base.
Omg omg omg omg ! I almost died! That was the worst most painful most powerful wipeout ever! I can’t believe I almost died?!?………. Give me my board! I’m going back out!

@@MyLifeBeLikeNow ok u high right?
This is true world title surfing, the heaviest wipe outs 👍😆
Awsome the power of the big waves. Oh My God allright!

Last thought: I wanna live😂😬👍kowabunga dude😆
You knew it was gonna happen!😉
Some of these guys are like our Prime Minister. He just ain't ready!
haha new crews are learning still
That is the Dangerous Surf I have ever Seen ON Maui. The Wind was Crazy that Day at Jaws... Luckily nobody died....
If I saw a wave that big I would be a mile away before that thing ever touches me
Wooow Super Nice... !
That wave was undefeated that day geezzz
3:35 why the fuck did this man go right
wow the whitewater at jaws really is hectic isn't it...
They don't die or get knock out when they fall into these masive waves? 😲
How do you survive that?
Those Waves are Huge
2:09 that lips landed right on top of him
Is it even possible to paddle into waves like this with a decent chance of success?
2:40 how can this happen with so many skis out? I'd never imagine someone would have to paddle back to the lineup
Rouge sets u can see everyone paddle over it some people sit on the inside
2:21 omg 😨
Oh my God....
Wonderful wave
Without words!
Incrível....
Nazaré oh my God!
Muita adrenalina, top demais 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Great film.
mahalo for watching 🌊😉🤙🏽
Did anyone ride it?
yuuup check it out here ua-cam.com/video/vV21FerG86k/v-deo.html
3:30 wave turned the board into a eucalyptus leaf...
Me, during this entire video: FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK
Must be the closest you can come to going over Niagara Falls.
So the jet skis are there, but there is no pull in? Why?
Those waves are movin too fast for tow-in
Was hoping to see a slip up in the editing so that just one of them actually made it.
I wonder what the bottom floor looks like. Is it reefs or just sand?
boulders with aframey reefy point aloha
insane footage
mahalo for watching 🌊😉🤙🏽
can you say the name of the song in start please ?
That is the beating of their life right there. I cant even imagine trying to paddle into those. The guy at 3:33 shouldn't even have a head left.
His balls of steel pulled his head inwards right when the wave hit
1- cubic meter of water - 1000 kg! The men without brains! (But the Brave!) Adrenalin!
No thank you. I will be watching the waves from the shore.

It's pretty intense
3:15. Is a shark right to the surfer?
DAVID M maybe but doubt it 😉🤙🏽 sharks dont like that much activity
What's that music?

0:43 Psh, why are they bothering to show this? Dude bailed just in time and barely endured a scratch! 0:49 oh NO, never mind!
Think I'll take up bingo instead.
Darn it! The wave 🌊 where Tom Dosland was surfing 🏄 was huge and crazy large.
Great video!
Surfers are crazy people.
How big are these waves?
Way way too many other surfers. Jesus this looks like pure unadulterated Misery and Hell. 🏄😬😱😨
