- It's been an absolutely nuts week pulling together a mission to track down & score the biggest & best ferry wave in history. At first we were struggling to find ski's, I didn't have to confidence that we could even find or place the wave on the proper bank, but somehow we pulled it off & ended up at the right place at the exact right time. This is definitely the best ferry wave I've ever seen & I feel like we're just scratching the surface. Thank you everyone FOR THE DREAM!! - Ben

Ben / Zeke - An absolute amazing duo! I love when you two collaborate so much, I have been a little down lately and going through it and just both of you laughing and being hyped the whole time completely made me smile! I lived in that town for 15 years. Took the ferry many times over that 15 years and this is only the second time I’ve see someone surf the ferry waves in the straight. First time was a SUP’er.
Thanks for more stoke. Immediately I zeroed in on Zeke's gourd & pumpkin display. Fair game in October. All I'm saying is if one of those gourds flies out of a truck window and hits a bridge support at 80mph, I'm not the one who just displayed it like candy for anyone to take. Don't hate the player, hate the game. BTW, we need to all chip in an buy a jet-drive ferry and make it a rental surf fantasy cruise deal.

I used to bring Todd Holland and crew to the Islands to a break I named Tongo Reef. I was pioneer in bringing in surfers thru Carrol Hollands agency Surf Express. Ferry wave was Epic!

Wasn’t just a novelty mission to “surf” ferry waves. This strike mission actually reaped some fun, incredibly perfect waves. I’m sure you (along with all of us), have surfed in much worse conditions, and got completely skunked. You guys scored big time. 💪💪💪💪🤙🤙🤙

You guys killed it in the Carquinez Straits and San Pablo Bay. It's usually stupid windy and often pretty rough. All of the bay water on the west side of the Carquinez Bridge is considered to be "Ocean Waters" by the US Coast Guard, so it's technically still ocean surfing. Those Golden Gate ferries are really fast boats and they have a ton of them coming and going from Vallejo throughout the day. You can see Mare Island Naval Shipyard across from the Ferry Building/Coffee shop.

I wrote to the Navy about using their nuclear powered aircraft carriers to create waves off cities like Jacksonville, San Diego, and other navy port cities. Just run up and down the beach 1-2 miles then turn around and do it again - might as well use that energy... Couldn't hurt to have more out there spreading this idea.

Ha! The gnar ain't gonna shred itself. Got me thinking, they got the fast ferries shuttling around the San Juan Island system in the Puget Sound of PNW. Get to the more isolated islands like Orcas - could be interesting. Just need the 5 mil suit. Arrrffff!
