Thank you for sharing German culture around the world with your videos. I'm glad you appreciate living there. It's so great to see a generation of young people open to the global community. My own mother is German and I went there seeking out the places she lived before and after her life was altered by war. She fled from Stettin to Lübeck when she was 13 years old. Thank God Lübeck wound up surrendering to the British. Never take for granted the luxury of our times to be able to experience an eastern Germany with open borders. Tchuss, und ein prosit!

It has to be pronounced like Tswinger. Swinger means something very different

Always remember that in german w, v and z are pronounced vastly different compared to english. W is like V, V is like F, and Z is always pronounced like TS. The tongue needs to touch the teeth or it will come out wrong.
Don't worry about a long pause. I believe I've heard that people do have full time jobs, hobbies, off-time meeting with friends and relatives.
But do correct me if I'm wrong. ;-)

You lived in Dresden Neustadt? I love that area! During the BRN this year I visited a friend of mine who lives there for some years now.
Just outside of neustadt but it is a beautiful part of the city! And also it looks as if it has been renovated a little! A lot cleaner and nice little cafes all around! 👌🏼

This could be a very good idea, I have of course learned about it and seen pictures, but a reaction video is something I haven’t really done yet.
I sincerely hope that you were able to show your mom the "Gruenes Gewoelbe" in the Schloss Dresden. But Dresden has more. It takes more than one visit to appreciate the cultural and historical richness of Dresden and environment, and do not forget the Saechsische Schweiz.
And when it is Christmas season, there is the "Strietzel Market" withh all things Christmas.
Hoping I’ll still be here to experience all the Christmas markets, especially Dresdens as I have heard so much about it’

You manage to take a "small trip to Hanover" and show so many interesting touches at the same time: the clock over the traffic light, the equestrian statue, the bustle in the airport and the clock in the airport, all showing you're on a time line to meet your special guests.
That building at 2:22 is really something. The Coronet Building I'd call it. Maybe you showed it to us in prior years. I see the Golden Arches in the arches at 6:05. Your mother was all eyes, and beautiful blue eyes, at that. She really enjoyed it. PS Too bad you didn't inherit her good looks.
The house at 2.22 reminds me of the Hundertwasserhaus in Vienna.
And Jim, you're such a nice guy- did you inherit your mother's beauty?
@@elkesteinlein97 Elke, sadly I did not. My mother was a real beauty. She had sisters, and their husbands would always tell my father that he had married the prettiest of the sisters. LOL I guess Jacob and I are alike in that respect, we didn't inherit our mothers' good looks.

Haha I got the baby blues from mum, but unfortunately according to all my relatives I am a real spitting image of my dad, mannerisms included, but I think my personality has been inherited from mum, so if you enjoy my persona and thought process, she’s to thank 😅☺️🙏🏼

Your channel is fantastic. I like in New York USA. But i have a deep love of Germany and all things German. My grandfather was in Europe during WW2 and spoke very highly of Germany and its people. I have always beeb so facinated by Germany and its DEEP RICH history.

I’m Australian, Born in the country but moved to Brisbane when I was little, have been back and forth between Germany the last 3 years, my accent isn’t typical Australian but I’m not sure where it has come from 😂😅🤷🏻♂️ I speak in a similar way to my mum ☺️

I spent 4 days in Dresden and which I stayed longer. Great to see the familiar sites again!

I love Dresden, because it's the city of my home and my heart. But it always sounds funny if english speaking people say "the Swinger" instead of "the Zwinger". Very different meaning in Germany.
Haha just like the actual pronouncing of Dresden, is English don’t say it the right way and I still have to stop myself and repeat it sometimes, but when I say it the right way I feel a bit weird like I’m “putting on” a German accent.
