The ingredients and meat are all relatively high standard compared to the US and i assume South Africa. Also the 0.5 liter mark on the cup is for the consumer, so you don't get less than what you paid for, since there are no free refills (There were like 10 years ago). They usually fill it up to a little above that line, so they don't undershoot it

We have another double you have to ask for, because they not necessarily advertise it in huge letters. When ordering a normal BigMac Menu you can ask there for a double, which only means another BigMac, but for only 2 bucks more or something like that. ;-) The food laws here are so strict and enforced/controlled and regulated, that even at McDonald's there is no meat scraps patties, but only 100 % good minced beef, far less additives, sugar, salt, artificial coloring and aromas. These are the main reasons, why McDonald's in Germany is so damn good and you don't feel sick after it, like in the U.S. e.g. It's getting better. Try McDo in France. You'll be amazed. ^^ It raises the ladder a few steps up...😋
Nothing gets close to a Mc Donalds Chip. Poor degenerated taste buds! Mc Donalds uses tasteless industry potatoes cuts them into far too small stripes and refuses to spice them up. If you want to taste good chips go to Belgium or the Netherlands and try the Streetfood ones - not those of burger chains.

In bavaria there are still free refills, in some MC Donalds resturants. But, they getting rarer by the day.
I miss Berlin so much!! When i was there they had a peaches and cream pie then and it was amazing!
