Damn that way cleaner than my old white 87 Monte ss I had in highshool. Lol I bought it for 1,000 bucks after it was in a high-speed cop chase and accident. The whole passenger side rear was caved in. But it still drove and could do burnouts!

I love the fact you stayed with the original white on the Monte! I remember when those came out back in the mid 80’s. If memory serves, the sticker on one of those was like 15k! How times have changed

Just saw this video, man is that Audi sweet! It’s as much as a show car as it is a race car. I voted for you as the next captain. I too was born in NY and grew up and live in NJ. A lot of people knock this part of country but anyone that has lived in town in NY and in NJ know there are beautiful areas with mountains, farmland, quiet little towns etc. Everything you would want to live in and around. Plus, this area has the best food in the country. That I know for sure. Very few places have food as good as NY/NJ and not just one town or small area. Very town has great food. Anyway, best of luck with the new car and racing NPK👍👍👍

@@DaddyDaveRacing I bet a high speed camera directly in front of that car with some "for scale lines" while using a hub dyno again would go along way in dialing in the suspension flawlessly! Failing that you could do that with all your cars. Front and side views would make getting the squat and weight transfer because of it far far easier.
@@MrClaypogue If a person knows how a car(suspension) works they don’t need all that fancy stuff to make it work flawlessly.
@@HappyHarryHardon If you feel your better than the equipment you don't actually know what your talking about! F1, NASCAR, etc all use high speed imaging and spend literally MILLIONS of dollars per year to make in some cases sub 1mm changes to the suspension that you cannot do that by eye, feel, and/or because your shade tree thinks you can... Buts its OK someone said something that mentions being dedicated to doing it right the first time so you had to be a keyboard ONE UPPER... Here question for you then why do they use gauges on wheelie bars every time before a launch because they should just hire you to do all the measurements visually because your a god and are flawless............................................................Maybe you can even bring your shade tree with you to the track! you know the burnout box and start lines really really need that shade and temp difference.... OH and I forgot to mention in my original post that it would be for the base setup IE starting with new suspension, because the down force created by the wind speed at the track will causes downward force not visible on a dyno but yes please do tell me how your flawless but failed to mention that extremely important bit but still ran your mouth anyways. Again if you know the down force generated and with a bit of math and a high speed camera you can get the setup nearly flawlessly without ever having smashed a cross bar or oil pan because you stood it on its rear and then slammed it back down because your suspension was wrong or miscalculated by VISUAL setup.
I don't know anyone who would set up a chassis by eye. Also, I can't imagine these guys spending the money and wear and tare on a motor doing dyno pulls just to set up the suspension. Dynos aren't easy on engines and those $100k+ slow-mo cameras aren't cheap.
After you get it all set up and go to run it and need to make adjustments, you will only have your hand tools with you anyway.

That's a Hub dyno. It allows you to "make a pass" from brake to stripe. The back wheels are off, and the car is mounted to the hub dyno with adapter plates & lug nutz.. I hope that kinda helps. It allows you to dial in your chassis, then you just gotta make small adjustments for wind, street/track, etc. They have a hub dyno in GA. For all my homies in the deep south, it's at vengeance racing. They are a very nice machine to have around! 😎💨
Lol I know about the cold in Jersey Dave.my wife and I are from Texas.. back in 1986 we moved to New Jersey I'd went up there on a job.. and it does get cold up I remember the last year we was there 88 June the 2nd we got 4 inches of snow we lived in Asbury Park.. I love street racing I love the 405 my wife and I been here in Oklahoma for the last 34 years so I guess this is home now I just thought I'd comment on the weather up there.. good luck with your upcoming races..

there should be limits for a True Street/Strip Car like Dave's Monte, No turbos, blowers or NOS, Maybe limit the Engine to 500/600/900 HP in a 496 or less Cube Inch & Limited Transmissions to a 2 or 3 speed only, like they were back in the 70's & 80's, Makes for some Super Close Racing. IMO

Sorry, I watched the Audi on the Dyno and jumped to this video and commented on the wrong video😂😂😂 Love the Monte Carlo SS. I had the twin to your car. Mine was an 86. I am looking for an 87-88 to make a nice resto-mod. I’m on the fence as to put a conventional SBC or do an LS. I am definitely going FI. Most likely Holley EFI so I can have options down the road of a Procharger. I have a Procharger in my ‘13 Silverado 1500 and love it. I was looking at doing a SBC with a steel crank, good rods and pistons and be able to run on 93 octane. What do you think would be better DD if you were on a budget of $10-12k for the motor and FI.
