Under the hood this seemingly 'simple' game is quite complex. I'm afraid Nasa would be needed if you would build and play an entirely custom rpg with this game. If wished would come true though... I would play that forever.
This is the most awesome and coolest game i've ever seen my entire life. I'm pretty sure there will be games that will be released in the future that's inspired by this game and it's mechanics. What a groundbreaking game and it's crazy that only 2 people built this game.
Exatcly! I used other 3D landscape programs like Metacreations Bryce 3D and E-On Vue...but the render times in those were unbearable, nothing worked in real-time like this. One could get a more detalied landscape but you didn't have this kind of flexibility, everything got ruined by render times and you didn't have a perpetually animated scene, like in this. These two persons who programmed this are totally brilliant, from another world, lol.
This is something I think some people just picking up the game don't seem to understand: this kind of thing takes time and effort and a willingness to restart until it looks right. Anyway, Beautiful job! That is a glorious castle, and your hard work was definitely worth it.
I love watching all the speed builds! I was really struggling with how to make my builds look more dynamic, and this really opened my eyes to new things I can do.
This is a really amazing build, but also makes me sad that I don't have this level of creativity and imagination. Not to mention the patience and skill it took to get all the precise layering and manipulations JUST right. I only got this game a few days ago and am only just starting to understand the most basic of building fundamentals.
But in time the skills will come, if you study when they do, it takes years to develop this kind of creativty. I guess there are many Minecraft players who build in TG. It's crazy how fast they learned everything...or maybe they had the demo very early.
I wondered this same thing. My best guess is that he just floated up there and hit "undo" until his entire build was gone. Then he played the clip in reverse to make it look like it's being built.
I want to create great locations I can use as TTRPG maps and also show what they look like from the outside. It doesn't look like this does that. Is there a tool like that?
How did you pull off the spinning camera in the end? Is it a tool, or did you manually spin it? And don't tell me you undid and REDID 9h worth of building for this timelapse.. 😱
@@versaughextras That's such a creative way to showcase the process! Hope the game can have built in time lapse tool soon, so creators like you can save more time on creating master piece like this!
how do you usually go about doing builds this big in your head? im trying to make a huge build but after a while im finding myself overwhelmed at putting the pieces together lmao
Can't speak for him but I kind of like to make a rough layout (in my head, on paper, with walls, just whatever works best for you). Just follow along your layout but don't be too strict about it. Just add or takeaway as needed. If you can't get a section to look right, just go and work on something else and come back to it later. I find that not overly planning makes the towns feel more natural.
@@craftingclasher3791 Yeahh i struggle with perfectionism that makes things look... fake due to lack of roughness and looseness, really makes it hard to just let loose lol
@@MasterSorez Yeah, I often struggle with it as well. I tend to make very organized streets and rows of buildings, which works in a more modern setting but doesn't really fit the medieval theme. I also found that having a lot of changes in elevation help me keep my builds more random because I have to work around the terrain. I also like to connect structures at neat 90 degree angles but this is honestly not that good. I have found that in a lot of cases connecting structures at weird angles makes some pretty cool and unique buildings.
This person might be planning to become an architect, so it will be useful. Or he makes money from UA-cam video ads, in which case it is like a workday. If he only makes 100 dollars from the views, the 9 hours are well worth it.
It's nice. But the game itself is just boring and pointless. A castle's function is people - it's a residence, a stronghold, a gathering place, and a strategic defensive emplacement. This game in no way reflects that - you just build these hollow structures that never get attacked, lived-in, or serve any real purpose. Even Lego and Minecraft castles arguable have more point than what we do in Tiny Glade.
I mean it depends on your perspective. From the end use standpoint you are correct. However, from the perspective of an architect or engineer the building itself is what is interesting. This game would definately be boring to anyone more interested in combat rather than constuction.
the entire point of the game is to decorate, obviously there aren’t going to be other features. if you don’t want to decorate then simply don’t play it. this game is for those who enjoy playing games purely to decorate
@@irmarthe premise of the game is to decorate exteriors using procedural generation, if u don’t like that then just don’t buy it lol. it would be nice if they added those features in the future tho
imagine if their next game could take creations form this game and make entire custom playable rpgs
There is some potential for vtts
We need the ability to design the interior of the buildings first, which is pretty complicated
Near impossible to make unfortunatly
This combined with Minecraft style procedural villages/dungeons and quest givers

at the end of these time-lapses there should be ALWAYS a walk through the streets, is a magnificent feature of the game.

Check townscraper in example as its not as complex but so cool too

I completely agree with you, imagine this mechanics added to a Citybuilding game for example.
For anyone wondering, the title of the music at the start is "Knights Templar- Adriel Fair"

worth the entire 9 hours.

I would love to see Japanese castle/city version of this...

I think it's the opposite. They built the whole thing, then undo until the beginning. Then start recording and moving around while redo-ing.

Wow.
Strong work. One question, how did you do it with the camera so that it is so fixed while you are building?

you build it first then you undo it all and redo it

@versaughextras so 9 hours with the undo, and rebuilt or 9 hours to build it then another 9+ for the time-lapse?😅
How do you replay your building like this?
How did you do this style of timelapse?
how do u make this kind of timelapse?? is there any in game tool?
probally by undoing and redoing while having the camera paned out. Wish there were a tool for it though.
do you have extra building features or same as everyone ? i cant finde some items like you
How did you record this video?
Comment pouvons-nous avoir cette caméra en jeu ou ce genre d'enregistrement de timelapse ? Merci

not too bad, all my my fingers hurt tho while stream this compared to one finger tapping redo😭😆
my eyes s they burn
how do you record this?
How did you record all the process without the UI and flying camera?
manually moved the camera and kept pressing redo after i udo it all and "H" is the key to hide UI

Ah, the return of the 'song everybody uses for every Minecraft castle build ever'
Looks no different than everyone else’s castle builds in this “game” I wish they had more variety. It’s so barebones sadly.
While it's cool that you can do this, IMHO it kills the spirit of the game, which is to design something quaint, small and peaceful.
