My grandmother Ruth Power from Washington State was 18 the year was top of the charts. I loved her so much. I didn’t get to ask her all the questions that I think of today. But with this music it gives me some idea of what she enjoyed. Thank you for posting. I wish she could be here to listen with me.
If you are able to record it with a video camera or even a phone, then you could email it to me. I could put it up on the channel. You could give me any details you would like me to include in the description area. My email address is on the home page of the channel.
TRACKING INDEX: 00:00 [1] Ipana Troubadours - Sunshine - vocal Scrappy Lambert 03:07 [2] Colonial Club Orchestra - I'd Love To Go Around With You - vocal Scrappy Lambert 06:20 [3] Ben Selvin & His Orchestra - In My Bouquet Of Memories 09:25 [4] Johnny Marvin - Think Of Me Thinking Of You 12:39 [5] Anson Weeks & His Mark Hopkins Orchestra - Wob-A-Ly Walk 16:04 [6] Anglo - Persians (Katzman) - The Dance Of The Blue Danube 19:07 [7] Charlie Straight's Orchestra - Just A Night For Meditation - vocal Frank Sylvano 22:23 [8] Gene Austin - Jeannine I Dream Of Lilac Time 25:20 [9] Freddie Rose - Cuddle Up A Little Closer 28:38 [10] Coon - Sanders Orchestra - Down Where The Sun Goes Down - vocal Joe Sanders
My dad, also, born in '28 - he played classical violin and also tuba in his HS dance band and later OSU marching band. Eclectic taste in popular stuff - appreciated anything technical and novelty
So relaxing to have playing quietly in the background. So uplifting and, having not been born at the time, none of it has any emotional attachment for me. :)
Music from the year my daddy was born.............makes me wonder when he was older what music he listened to. He passed away one week from my 8th b'day.. back in 1966.
Thank you for sharing another fine selection of musical treats. My own favourite is song number 9. It is wonderful to listen to the entire song. In fact, I think this is the first time I have heard it done so. Usually it is only the chorus we hear.
Another nice selection. The vocalist on #3 is the great tenor James Melton. I also believe that #1 is played too fast, because Scrappy's voice is pitched unnaturally high. And wow! Does Johnny Marvin ever go "sharp" at 11:21.
His voice does sound a bit high on track 1. That transfer came from my friends collection, so he made the recording. Johnny Marvin sounds okay to me on his track. I am able to adjust the speed on the turntable but I usually use the known speed settings for the period that are published. I only started doing that more in the last year. I am unable to pitch every recording as that would take way too long.
I am behind in my replies, got sick last week with stomach bug. Going to try and do a new post on the other channel today. Thank you for all your support Larry.
Bob, I cannot imagine how it took me so long to punch up this set - but it is absolutely superb wall-to-wall. However, what really impelled me to throw in a comment was the Blue Danube variation - just beyond great. As always, many thanks and best wishes from the pax41 Ukraine Fan Club.
I wonder if Scrappy Lambert ever worked with Anson Weeks? That would be a great combo, but I haven't seen that combination. Nice collection here, for sure.
I don´t like these fade outs in the end of the records! I want to hear the whole record on full volume to the very end! Thank you! Otherwise very good music!
What a great selection.I am 78 and enjoying the real music that my parents enjoyed so much. Thanks a lot pax.

+Walter Gray That record was a pain to try and restore. Glad you liked it as I wasn't sure how many would enjoy it.

That selection is a great one. It's the best version I have heard of that song but I do like Jesse Crawford's organ version.
I am surprised at how few views this great selection of music has received.
Thanks again.

" rub the injured part with sunshine" , WoW !

Who is singing on Song 3?
On "Bouquet of Memories," the red spot on that flower reminded me, of Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse.
Not sure I follow Michael.
I am referring to a picture, that appeared when "Bouquet of Memories" was playing. I hope that you can follow this.
Something for me ears finnaly some NOT rock And loud music
That song was made when disneys steamboat Willy was made
Delightful
