  • Learn about Norway's downside. Corruption, human rights violations, poverty and the storming of the parliament building are just some of the reasons. Do you intend to become an expat in Norway? Then you must watch the video. Do you want to go on holiday to Norway? Here, you will get the answer to when to go.
    In this sarcastic and ironic video based on facts and reflections, Yourway2Norway pokes holes in Norwegians' self-image and addresses the issues you have never heard about Norway before. Ugly topics, which turn upside down many of th myths about this wonderful country in the farthest north of the world.
    Over the last ten years, Norway has been at the top of the world when it comes to being the happiest country, the best country to live in, the best country for children, the least corrupt and most transparent country in the world and so on.
    But something fundamentally is changing in the kingdom of Norway. It unravels. The walls are cracking. The poison seeps out.
    The Yourway2Norway team races around in the capital Oslo in their self-deprecating manner, climbs statues, begs in the main street, dances in front of the Nobel Peace Prize Centre like a happy war profiteer. And shares stories about known Norwegians who violate all our norms, rules and destroy our illusions about ourselves.
    Here you will learn things you may never have heard about Norway before. Topics that Norwegians don’t want to admit or talk about. Which characterizes some crucial realities in Norway just now.
    It impacts you - watch to the end :)

    Thanks for bringing up the part about the CPS and forced adoption in Norway. I'm Norwegian and many years ago the CPS took custody over me on the basis of my mom being psychotic. After they had her take a psychiatric evaluation, the psychiatrist declared her completely SANE. however, the CPS didn't care and had me stay in foster care. A few months later, my mom managed to win back custody in court. When I was living in foster care, a significant portion of the other children were very unhappy about their situation and wanted to go home. It's disgusting to see how many Norwegians are completely oblivious and think it's all fake news. Sure, a lot of the times the child protective services can do good, but if for example 1 in 10 of the situations have no real basis and this happens to thousands of kids, this would translate to hundreds of families having their lives completely ruined. Based on what I remember from what I heard from other kids I met during my stay in foster care, a much higher proportion than 1 in 10 cases of custody removal were life-ruining.

    Rich Norwegians leaving the country to avoid paying taxes? Not surprising, of course. Apparently, here in the USA, there's no pressure on the super wealthy to cough up tax money. That money apparently belongs to the politicians whose job it is to make sure the super wealthy continue to get by with not paying taxes.

      The super rich pay 99% of the taxes in the US. Look it up. What you see is the money they have left over; if California rich people pay 67% of a billion dollars to taxes, they still have 1/3 of a billion dollars left. If a middle-class Californian pays 50% in taxes, they might have $50k left to live on. Realize that you have ZERO right to someone else's money. None.

      Norway is a free country.
      Norway have freedom of press, and freedom of speech. Free education on every level for everybody.
      And where USA keep about 1000 of 100.000 in prison, the same number for a free nation like Norway is 48 of 100.000.
      Norway spend money on free education. USA spend the money on prison for the poor people that could not afford school and learnt songs about Jesus instead of real knowledge..
      So if you come from a more unfree developing country, like the USA, with no freedom of speech/press. I can understand your fear of open speak.

      Same in Sweden, as you probably know. Being blind, ignorant and childishly naive has been seen as a virtue for decades here. I guess some kind of christian dogma meeting marxist conformism. It has starting to change a bit recently, due to recent events, but it's a long way back to sanity...

    • @JimmyNuisance
      @JimmyNuisance 5 місяців тому

      @@herrbonk3635 Marxist conformism doesn't make much sense. No marxists here.. People just haven't had much of a reason to rage for many many years. It's been pretty decent for decades, and "pretty decent" doesn't create radicals.
      The conformism in scandinavia goes across all political ideologies as well. Scandinavians are just timid as a whole. Much like Canadians.
      Not everything can be blamed on marxism.. That's just too lazy. The last time Norway had a leftist boom was probably the 60s. We've been strongly neolib with a decent welfare system for aaaaaages. Americans are neolibs with a massive military. Scandinavians are neolibs with a good welfare state. No marxism needed to explain our submissive and non-questioning nature. It's just hard to rally the troops when most people are either centrist or center right... They're not exactly the people who shake things up... Too busy making sure homes are extremely expensive so old people can refinance their homes and go on vacations and leave all their money in spain....

    • @herrbonk3635
      @herrbonk3635 5 місяців тому

      @@JimmyNuisance Never said it wasn't partly of their (our) DNA. The swedes always liked to march in straight lines. But it sure was christianity that held us Swedes down for many hundreds of years. If you argued against the church you ended up in hell. Then socialist dogma took over during the 1900s and literally teared half the country down, calling it disgusting. From the early 1970s, this developed into successively more vulgarly simplified postmodernism (despite Foucault et al being somewhat intelligent, his followers were not). Pretty quickly, this turned into hard core cultural marxism in large circles. (Also called post marxism, to make it a little more confusing.) If you opposed that, you lost your friends and/or job. So almost like dissidents in the DDR or Sovjet, albeit less deadly. We are still there, although it has softened a little lately.
      (No, the fact that a cold blooded murderer in Norway also saw this happening does not make it untrue,... That's like saying smoking is good because the national socialists in 1930s Germany discovered it was hazardous for you health. So totally illogical.)

    You can come as an expat to the Netherlands because I saw in your picture that we were at 22.
    I think it is good that Norway provides the rest of Europe with oil but I think you as the people should benefit from that.
    Prices are rising here as well but the prices of houses are going up because we have a shortage of it. (We have a shortage of houses since WW2, somehow we never managed to solve it).
    What surprised me the most about the 7 things you mentioned, is that the prices are going up in your country.
    Because here they are rising as well but the excuse they make is that that is because of the price of oil, that we have to buy.
    It makes no sense that in the country that sells the oil, the prices are also rising.
    Which may confirm my suspicions that it is all just a scam to steal our money?????

    LOVE! I love when you tackle important social issues but give it that "Your Way To Norway" twist. Of all the shit things that Norway does, at least it has an effective safety net so that its residents can afford to live, eat and "be". I'm so ashamed of the way we treat the poor and the vulnerable in this country (England). The biggest scandal we have here at the moment is "in work poverty" where people are working full time but still can't afford to pay rent, bills, eat and clothe themselves. The biggest problem we face as a society in the UK is that too many people (especially those MPs who form our current Government and even the main opposition party) blame everything that's wrong in the world on people who are poorer than them.

      The inside trading with Norwegian politicians are in the sums of 10-100 thousand USD spread over years. Compared to Nancy Pelosi making millions yearly on call options in the US it is peanuts. Also the news agencies actually critize the politicians when such things happen while other places it gets swept under the rug

You totally went over the reasons that your country and actually others are being harder for the non-wealthy. What I like the most about this one is how you kept smiling and sounded like a mix of frustration and professional cheery reporter. :) What fact was the most surprising? Two were equal: 1st the forced adoptions and 2nd the invasion of government on Native lands--that sounds soooo American. For the record, I still think Norway would be a wonderful place to visit--away from big cities.

      @@ilovejackington Boomers finding the internet and just getting on there without having a clue about just how much misinformation exists really did make conservatives lose their damn minds. It's been one absurd culture war after the next just driving wedges between the two parties. There are literally adults in power right now who treat "wokeness" as the greatest danger of our time... Adults! That can't happen without something whipping up hysteria, and that "something" is the algos on facebook just feeding outrage porn to conservatives.
      Once they were no longer able to see reason, the schism in America became totally unmanageable. I am terrified we'll see the same in Norway over time. During Covid, sooo many norwegians just fell into the right wing conspiracy hole that the US created, and it was SCARY. I woke up to the reality that a lot of norwegians are just stupid as hell... It was very easy to scare them into believing nonsense, it seems. Very disheartening.
      I have little hope for the future of humanity after seeing how things have gone in the past 15 years. It just seems we're too stupid to stop ourselves from believing in nonsense.. We have climate change deniers up here now.. Even though many of us live in areas that USED TO HAVE WINTER and now no longer have.. Snow became a thing that happens when we get weather anomalies rather than being a thing that came every year around november and just stayed until mid march.. It's clearly visible, yet we still get climate change deniers....
      Sad.
