@@cloudynitro good guess but for real majority of the customers is like trump's tweet. People prefer button instead of sweeper. Younger, older, the rich ones and those who won't spend 1k$ for a phoning device
Actually to me it’s more exiting and fun to watch the event like this than the events before COVID. I hope they keep doing it despite social distance and all that stuff.

I love this studio channel. Brings another side to the story.
Most of the products (other than the SE tbh, although it wasn’t really that bad) had my attention. The M1 Ultra mac studio was of course mind blowing, alongside the M1 IPad Air was super cool.I feel like the new iPad Air might break the tablet market in quite a few ways.
Even though it’s not that important, the green iPhone 13 trailer looked awesome, of course so did the color of it XD.
I'm not sure the M1 iPad Air makes sense for anyone. The base model only has 64Gb of storage, which is not enough to do any serious work with the M1 chip. Maybe for gaming (but not a lot of games). I feel like someone who can do with 64Gb would be perfectly happy with the base iPad (who's A13 chip runs most iOS games just fine) for a whole lot less. And if you upgrade the storage you are only $50 less than the iPad Pro with a larger, brighter ProMotion screen, a much better camera system with LIDAR, Face ID and and a depth sensing front camera (Animoji and Portrait mode). And even though that model comes with only 128GB it has the Thunderbolt USB-C for offloading projects or files. So who is this really for?

At this point idc about the iMac Pro, my prediction is that it is going to be the all-in-one Mac Studio and Pro Display XDR. And there is no way M2 is going to be in the Mac Pro, M2 will be in the next generation baseline MacBook Air, calling it right now!
the all-in-one sounds very plausible
I'm thinking the Mac Pro will be "like" the current Mac Pro but take multiple M1 Pro/Max/Ultra Cards (or even M2 when that comes out) but they need to figure out a really fast way for the different silicon to communicate like they did with UltraFusion. Possibly some very clever (and quiet) cooling tech. Work with either of their displays.
They literally said it was a tower so I don't know where you got that. Maybe coming out with an updated Pro Display XDR
mac pro is supposed to be more modular, I see them using the current mac pro chassis (maybe a bit smaller). will have the m2 ultra duo(whatever they're gonna call that lol, m2 epic?)

Apple might be last to every feature on a phone but their computers are miles ahead after that presentation.
LOVED hearing the product and price predictions pre-announcement!! Certainly put the Mac Studio and pricing in the BIG SURPRISE box, like WHOA so much cheaper. You don't hear that generally in the UA-cam stratosphere of pundits.
I agree. When I watched the presentation I thought it was a little expensive. But now I think they are probably reasonable because all those guys were much higher priced.

I think the Mac Pro will have a different naming convention and still use a configuration of the M1 chips. For example 2x M1 Ultras will be called X1 or U1 and it’s only available to the Mac Pro

@Carl Gunderson Perhaps, but they did mention in the event “one last chip to add” (something along those lines), as they were referring to the Ultra.
I personally think “M1 ultra max” is borderline a meme…the M1 ultra is already laughable as one would guess the M1 max implies it being the ‘maximum’ lol.

It still baffles me that a LOT of people thought we’d see an M2 anything before we see the highest power M1 chip. That’s just a dumb marketing mistake if it were to happen imo, not surprised at all that it didn’t.

At $6,799.00 would be the best bang for the buck to go along with the Pro Display XDR's that you already have. Thing is the cost of the original 1984 Mackintosh adjusted for inflation would now cost $6,502.47.
Think the Mac Pro might just might be insane power. Since it is running macOS/UNIX this may be the best scientific tool if you are not using a top of the line Super computers of today. Back in the day the company I was with sold top of the line (at the time) IBM AT maxed out memory running AIX / UNIX to Lawrence Livermore Labs. Why did they do this, and not run simulations on the super computers of the day? They could purchase many IBM AT's to simultaneously run simulations for the cost of one minute of compute time on a super computer.
Thing is the iPhone's we have in our pockets put the 1980's Cray supercomputers to same when it come to raw performance.

A maxed out Mac Studio with M1 Ultra plus XDR Display with stand is only slightly more expensive then the discontinued iMac Pro 27 inch with it's intel i9 i belief.

They'll be able to do 4 dies glued together for the pro product, priced at above 8k (I think above 10-12k, but it will be at least 8k). Which is why I never touched Intel stock, I knew they could glue these dies together, amd, Nvidia and Intel do it. I don't see how you compete with Apple

@@Daniel_Marazzato I work for a large company with 60k employees. It's nothing for them, like 100k before any discounts. My Dell Precision 5500 cost like $4k when it was new and my 4k monitors were $1k each. Big corporations that are very profitable invest in equipment.
Maybe the MacPro chip will be called P1 for ProOne?

Will Z1 chip be the name of the chip used in Mac Pro? Consider the alphabet:
A series -> 1st letter
M series -> 13th letter (middle of 26)
Z series -> last letter
They'll probably keep the M for macs. A series is used for the iPhones and now just the base iPads. M series for the higher end iPads and Macs. S series for the watches. There's also the T series, H series, U series and W series. If they do use Z, it would either be for a silicon that no one really thinks about (like the T series for biometric authentication) or for a new product line (AR glasses).
The M series is still too new to just change the letter entirely for the same product line (macs)
