The first race is always special. I remember my first race at MIS in 2006. It had sold out back then so we were packed in with around 140,000 fans and it was surreal. People don't understand how huge the sport is until they actually witness it in person.
I'm not a Nascar fan by any means but I've been to a couple of races and it is an extremely visceral experience. I also found the people to be extremely friendly which is not what I expected. There really is nothing like the sound and sensation of your chest rattling when those cars Blast by at 190 miles an hour. I still prefer Grand Am racing though. They race even when it's flooded on the track.
I had the pleasure of meeting Justin Allgier when I worked for Andretti's Indoor Karting. He was very nice and very humble. I got to race on the track with him while I was doing testing on a new kart.
These nascar video's have been pretty awesome! Im jealous considering Jr's been my favorite driver since the Busch series days. Thankfully i'll be at Talladega this coming weekend. Any chance you'll be there as well? If not that or Daytona are two race's you need to check out for sure.
You need to introduce her to nitro funny cars and get her reaction on the launch. It’s always great finding the noobs in the crowd and see them react to the chest pressure you get from a nitro car. My die hard NASCAR father in law who goes to NASCAR all the time thought he knew what he was getting it when we went. He was as stunned as any other noob in the stands.
I haven’t seen any footage of cms but I was just walking and driving on that track a few weeks ago for the Charlotte Autofair It’s crazy seeing it in action
