Well done, thankyou for saving 1973 T140, I had one years ago, it was a bit special, got rid of all balance pipes, reverse cone megs fitted & dynamicly balanced crank, rods, pistons.
Bowyer ignition mk2 Amals. It was the best bike that I ever had.
    Then some Bar-Stuard, stole it.
Almost broke my heart. P/S, so glad you saved that crank. Some people think that a big hammer will fix (forse) anything*!?# 😵‍💫👹🙃

had same year T140V XH22347 (amazing the trivia one never forgets) very fond memories, actually liked the original sidecovers/ airboxes more along with original mufflers, one change that really changes the handling is to pop 4" longer front forks in ….then you really can throw it around.. nice to see this completed though

My first motorcycle was a 1973 Bonnie 750. I was 17 and bought if from a guy who bought it at the dealer on impulse and then didn't want it. I think I remember it had around a thousand miles on it. What a great bike that was.

A crime the way that bike was left to rot. So glad you saved her. I'm surprised they handle as well as they do considering how simple and basic the frame is. Obviously stiffness and light weight account for more than meets the eye. Plus tire size etc. As i had read about the detrimental effect of Moto Guzzi LeMans going to a 16" front wheel at one point during their production. Looks to be roller bearing mains and plain shell rod bearings. I could never get what to me was acceptable life from the bottom end of my Triumph 500 TT. I think the roller bearings must have been the culprit. Some folks give a rabid defense of British engineering. I wonder why British vehicles always gave me problems i never experienced elsewhere. Gas lines freezing up in the cold climate, weak trans. and 3rd member, poor bottom end life (Triumph motorcycle)

I'm doing the same job now. Mine was a running machine, but needed reconditioning. I was with the original owner, my best buddy, when he bought it from Jimmy Arnold's Triumph in Memphis in 1979. I have worked on this bike on and off for 42 years for 3 other friends who bought it from each other. Now it will stay with me, and I will ride with the original owner as he rides his 20 year old Honda Valkyrie this next summer. Oh, and yours looks great. Still riding it?

Gracias amigo.
Saludos Loscar ✌

This is an interesting hybrid echoing essentially what Hinckley Triumph have been trying to do which is to capture the 'essence' of a Bonneville in their contemporary designs. For me some of it works really well some of it doesn’t especially the tail light area. The ‘gargoyle’ tail light, as it was known, wasn’t a highlight of BSA/Triumph's design history and making it erect IMHO hasn’t helped. Overall though it’s a valiant effort and one to be highly commended. Well done Loscar.

Im interested to know if you are restoring the bikes for customers, or are they your own bikes?
    Great work.

😊I am not a professional, I only restore my motorcycles and some commitment from friends. I am retired (seventy years) and I only restore for therapy and pure pleasure. Nor do I pretend to teach anything. I'm just trying to give a summary description of this rewarding hobby.
Thanks for watching my videos. My best wishes. Loscar✌

Loscar✌👍

Thank you for a well made video, I just recently brought my T 140v Bonnelville out of bad storage for 27 years. Your video gives me some direction. Where is your shop located? I can do a lot of the work but rebuilding the engine isn't my thing. Can you recommend any body in the Portland ORegon area. Thanks Tim

Did you find anyone yet? The "Sandy Bandit" is no more and while i don't know of any British specialist shops around Portland the Moto Guzzi/Aprilia dealer on about 105th & Sandy in ParkRose works on all brands and the principle owner/owners previously restored British bikes exclusively i believe as their market niche.

Complete junk. You should sell it to me so I can spare you the burden of ownership. I'd do that for you. Really, I would
