    After a 20 years absence from glass art, I am, at age 75, looking forward to delving into the craft once again. To that end, I have watched multiple videos to refresh my techniques and advancements in the field.
    Your videos are, without any doubt, the very best. I am grateful you have taken the time to produce such in-depth information. You have answered any lingering questions I had.
    From Denver, Colorado, USA, I’m ready to jump in again. Barb

    Went to a commercial glass supplier 👨🏼‍🔧to trim the broken edge off a mirror.I was told it was impossible to fix because the mirror was glued to a chipboard back...Watched your tutorial and successfully did the job myself 😂🎉

    Thankyou for this. I've had trouble getting the glass to split evenly after making straight cuts. Don't think I've seen anyone else do the tapping with the butt-end of the cutter before. Worked perfectly!

    You, sir are a ninja with glass. Very impressive and motivating. I had no plans…zero…in fact to get into this. But I am sold! Your Amazon links, however do not work. Are you able to either get that lazy Jeff Bezos guy to fix it. Or maybe just let us know the specific model numbers, etc. I would love to give you the credit with the proper link ideally. If possible. And timely. Thank you! Cheers!

    Derek you are looking really well which is absolutely brilliant :) Were you considering running a course that students could pay for, I recall registering an interest but worry that it was simply in my imagination being that I am and old git!

      @@DerekHuntArtist Thanks Derek the glass painting looks really interesting. Forgive my ignorance but what type of kiln would I need and how much would I be looking to spend on it, please?

      You will need a kiln which will fire glass at 650 degrees centigrade. Where are you based?

    Help- I am a newbie and I’m having issues with where exactly to place my cutters to start off the cut/ score. When attempting to start my score, I have tried various methods such as 1/8 inch up to a 1/4 inch from the edge. However, the start of my score is very problematic and the break is poor. I know to run your cutter off the glass to finish. Can you give me some advice. Thank you for taking time to respond. Your finished stained glass art is amazing! Your videos are packed with great and useful content.

      Try starting the score as close to the edge of the glass as possible and run the score line off the other end. Try breaking pliers to help crack along the glass, and work from both the starting point and also the end point of the score to connect the crack. Take your time and don’t force things as you might end up cutting yourself with too much force. Hope that helps. 🙂

    So I’m confused. I feel like when I cut glass the first part near the edge never cuts properly. Should I be holding the cutting tool at 90 degrees when I first start and then hold it at a 45 degree angle?

    • @DerekHuntArtist
      @DerekHuntArtist  8 місяців тому

      I start my cut close to the edge at 45 degree angle and then cut. Allow the glass cutter to slide off the other end of the glass as you finish the score. Sometimes it’s then easier to start running the score line from the end of the cut where you finished as the score goes all the way to the end. Hope that makes sense 🙏🙂

    Do you use same technique for thicker glass say 10-20 mil

      Glass thicker than 6mm needs to be cut by a specialist glazier.
