@@somebody9033 Bloo uses 3-valve Yamahas. You can't play a D1 on a 3-valve tuba unless you use a false tone with the second valve, and it's nearly impossible to get it that loud. You'd need a fourth valve and use a 2-3-4 combination.

This is insane. Every time I hear a dci group it makes me want to be a part of one as well. I don’t know if I could handle it though 😂
The skill level required, along with the physical and discipline demands vary greatly from group to group. Bluecoats are consistently one of the top drum corps right now, particularly their brass. There is no shame in starting in a lower placing corps or Open Class corps to get the necessary skill and education and most importantly above all the EXPERIENCE on the road before shooting for higher ambitions. In fact, most of the higher placing corps will decline you respectfully and even give your contact information to other corps you might fit in with. I was rejected by the Bluecoats while auditioning for the 2023 season and they were very respectful about it and gave tons of feedback to improve off of.
I think a lot of us get our heads stuck in the competitive aspect of drum corps, and forget that at the end of the day, it's meant to be an educational experience more than anything, and both myself personally as well as others that I know, sometimes your favorite memories or closest friends come from the years you didn't "win anything"!
@@croatiancowboy that’s what I have learned from a few of my friends that one of which is in his second year of low brass with the blue knights and the other played with the trumpets in the crossmen corps last year. Maybe I will try out one year!
@RamseysTrains did he only march last year with crossmen or did he happen to march in 2022 as well?

Am I crazy or is this not the worst I've heard bluecoats sound? Every single note has a sloppy entrance during the trumpet intro and trumpets and mellos stay out of tune til the end

@@WillFisherMusic4136 definitely not, ive been in a choir that's recorded for a video game soundtrack before and they do NOT play when it comes to mistakes. we were in that studio for maybe 8 hours before we got reps of our 4 songs perfectly.
Yeah I mean, they had a whole ass show to put on. I wouldn’t imagine this was anywhere near their top priorities

@@sebastianhall3909yeah, it was pretty short notice. They had to balance tracking the OST while also learning the show for that year. The site you see here is spring training; afaik they had to track it all before the season even got to a start

Call me crazy, but they sound terrible. All the note entrances are all over the place, and the lead trumpets miss a ton of notes.
They probably learned this in like 30 minutes

Definitely not speaking in defense of, but we spent next to no time on this and weren’t given a lot of time to learn it before recording. There’s way better versions of this from when we were on tour.
