  • How to do a Figure 8 or flare on pole. Although this is more of an intermediate to advanced move on pole, it's never too soon to start working on this one. The figure 8 is not only a crowd pleasing move on the pole by itself but is also a foundational move and mechanics for many advanced pole moves and combos yet to come (wheel down, aerial phoenix, etc). There is something here for all levels. Those of you that are able to do a solid, clean, single figure 8, I now challenge you to try linking multiple figure-8s together!

    Great video!! I’ve been a dancer for a year now. I’ve been lucky to become pretty skilled in such a short time but when I see tricks this combo is normally my missing knowledge piece. Can’t wait to try it out at work tomorrow! Thank you!

    THIS WAS SO HELPFUL I have straight leg inverts, a shoulder mount and almost a handspring but flares have stumped me, the motion as you spin especially. this slower breakdown was excellent and I'll be trying soon.

      @@Elizabeth_BFit It definitely makes a big difference. I had a teacher try to teach me this and although her instruction was pretty savvy she was pushing me to progress too fast. I was struggling to keep form consistently yet she wanted me to move through the progressions right away.

      You can absolutely start working on part one of the figure 8 at any level. It will help you develop the strength and coordination not just for these figure 8s but also for your spinning chopper. If you're looking for additional guidance on working towards your pole goals I recommend checking out my online training program here: elizabethbfit.com/ebfitpolers/

    my goal is to flare into an invert. they look so silly right now because it feels so different from just a deadlift invert. i managed to make it to somewhat part 2

    • @Elizabeth_BFit
      @Elizabeth_BFit  4 роки тому +1

      Milla that's great that you're working up to part 2! It takes time for our bodies and brains to learn new movement patterns so don't get frustrated with yourself, just keep consistently working on it. If you have not done so already, I’d love to have you join my EBFit private Facebook group and share your videos there for feedback and pointers.

  • @bellat6889
    @bellat6889 11 місяців тому

    I’m already struggling with the first step. Not sure if it’s flexibility or what… firstly my leg will not straighten and if it is straight it’s not very high even tho I’m leaning down and crunching my oblique. Do I just need to stretch my hamstrings and increase my hip mobility??

    • @Elizabeth_BFit
      @Elizabeth_BFit  11 місяців тому

      Keep in mind that every move will look different on different bodies but that doesn't mean it's not correct. It could be a flexibility issue, or a strength issue or simply a matter of needing more repetition so as to allow your body time to coordinate all the things at once. Bottom line is it's hard to say where the disconnect is and what needs to be worked on without seeing exactly what it is that you're currently doing. If you'd like to book a virtual private I'd love to help you sort it out. Feel free to reach out to me via email below or book via my website.
