And where is the thermal pad ?
Hey. I need your help. I've had a 590 for a while but after some heating issues I took it apart to replace thermal pads and paste. But after closing it, it gets to windows and immediately shuts down. Upon inspection I see the thermal paste is not touching the cooler. Should the cooler threads go through the card? Is there a way to do it? What can I do?
I would be suspecting the thermal pads you installed might be too thick
Tnx you so much!!
Your welcome
Hello, i have the same one, just purchased, fairly cheap, but i think i was scammed.
When cleaning it and applying thermal paste, i noticed the chcips with the number 1 (to the left of the X capacitors i think?) are a bit "burned" or at least they look more brownish.
GPU also crashes when playing or even starting up the computer at times (Black screen, sound continues if playing a video for example).
I have tried multiple Driver versions with DDU beforehand and nothing has worked.
Think its a bad GPU? or could it be my PSU (fairly generic brand, 600w but actually gives less than 500w).
Temps are rarely at 80, maximum i have seen is 85.
Sounds like it might have been a dud purchase. Sorry to say
@@rickstechrepairs a crap, had to sell a few things to purchase it.
Its weird because it works perfectly fine in Warzone but then Crash in League of Legends. So weird..
what size of pad you use ? 0,5 or 1.0
not sure sorry
hello friend, what is the thickness of the thermal pad to use on this video card?
1.5mm but 1mm is fine
@@CuriousGamer022thanks bro. This answer worked for me.
@@pixhn no problem
@@CuriousGamer022Bro, can I ask another question?
@@pixhn yh sure
can you please show how to remove that specific graphics card i cant remove it
Remove what ?
Push the tab down on the back of the pcie port...
how much was the thermal difference ? I know xfx model is a bit toasty with a bad cooler design.
I went from 85 to 80 or below.
Still has bad thermal design.
I do thknk i fcked up one of the pads (the largets one), so you might better temps if done properly.
I used Artic MX4 and 1mm thermal psds.
@@WhiteZelda Dude, I have the same product as in the video and I will change the thermal pad. Does this graphics card use a 1mm thick thermal pad? Can someone who knows help?
@@pixhn i used 1mm everywherr, seems to work fine, i also added 3mm (3 1mm stacked) in the back where the chips with number 1 are (so they have actual contact with the backplate), this is what did the most difference tbh.
@@WhiteZelda thanks. Are the 3mm pads you put on the back exactly in line with the vram? Because I have a separate part in the cooler block. I was going to take it out and place a pad between it. Many people suggested this. Do you have any information about this suggestion?
@@pixhn its in the back of where the Chips with the 1 are (not sure what tjose are, i think its some for voltage).
I didnt try putting amything in the back of the VRam but that might be a good idea.
Would an over heating gpu cause system failure/crashing?
During video games, yes
@Ricks Tech Repairs what about just normal use? My computer would crash after 30 min. I tried different ram, different cpu but same cpu
@@rickstechrepairs i have an rx590, the fans run when i turn it on but i get a black screen
@@__sev i also have rx 590 did u manage to solve it?
@@dujebasic2604 sadly no, but please let me know if you manage to fix it
How hot is it now?
Didn't test thermal before and after
@@rickstechrepairs bruh
And how did the XFX fair ?
