  • Join Chris and me on a 2 for 1 bottle dump digging adventure in rural and urban northeast Florida. We go from 1940s machine made bottles to blown bottles from the 1890s. As always, it’s a blast! So, ease back in that comfy recliner, take a sip of sweet tea, and flip on the remote.
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch. Oh, and please don’t forget to “like” and “subscribe”…Bob Lee.

I found that identical poison in ABM from here. It had strychnine for rat poison in it. That looks like all Wartime stuff. I've found the Japanese Gold Paint here, c1890-1910. Japanese laquerware was popular, and the paint was to fix scuffs & scratches in it. Gerstendorfer Bros. in New York made it. The same height is a drum flask shape "The Sherwin Williams Co. Paint and Varnish Makers", another tooled top c1900.

That is the same and first poison i found as well. 2nd hole is 40s for sure. The pepsi is an ACL mid 30s on till the 50s they were those. The dead giveaway was the pale blue milk of magnesia. Not sure if it was because of the war effort lacking a metal for the blue color but they were during that period. Looks like yall had fun. Thanks for sharing.

As always, good info Clockwork Gnome, thank you for sharing. My understanding is Duraglass was not developed until the early 1940s, believe it was by Owens/Illinois glass. What’s your take on that? Good point on the lightness of color in the magnesia. Chris and I were wondering about that.

@@relicrescueusa3803 yes you are right on the duraglass. The ACL was what i meant ran from in the 30s. 20s into the 30s was embossed art deco bottles and at some point they leaned more towards ACL and less elaborately embossed bottles. I have found several of that same type of pepsi and like yours most time the painted label is gone leaving only the embossed pepsi swirls. I have a couple that are still legible but most are slick.

    Odd....
I hit the bell but didn't get notified 🤔
Enjoyed the video. We're down to less the 50 days until our Florida trip.
Do you have much problems with fire ants?
I ran into some once detecting down there years ago.
Have a Jesus filled day everyone

I wish everyone would hit the bell…hopefully the problem won’t happen again. There are fire ants, but they’re just one of many nuisance insects that populate Florida. If you keep a wary eye out, I doubt you’ll have any problems. Have a great trip and thanks for watching.

    Great video!
Do you have another book in the works? I’ve listened to backwoods lawman twice on audible and read the second one in hardcover. Thanks

Hey James…many thanks for the wonderful comments and for watching. I have a novel on my computer but have not executed on it yet. Tied up with the UA-cam. I’m working on a history video. Battle of Horse Landing-The Sinking of the USS Columbine. If I ever get the novel off the ground, you’ll be one of the first to know. Finally, I could sure use an Amazon Review re: the books. Your interest means more than you know…Bob Lee.

Hey Chris, unfortunately no, I never make it up that way. When I was working as a game warden/supervisor, I made it up there once or twice a year to teach at the state law enforcement academy in Gadsden County. If you ever pass through Palatka please let me know and we’ll do lunch…Bob Lee
