You know when you're subscribed to a good channel when you still watch the entire video even when you are not really interested in the watch. Enjoyable to watch as always and look forward to the next one 👍🏻
Lovely blue! It's good they kept all the 007 references at the back with a clean front. Love this. Priced just right.
Yes I agree leaving 007 off the dial is the way. 👍
Very helpful - not a watch for me but more interested after your review. The NTTD titanium also looks good in the flesh but like you the bond link and faux broad arrow are not a strong draw for me. The 2254.50.00 is still an all time favourite and the subtle, light aesthetic of these functional deep dive watches is always impressive. They ‘R’ a strong contrast to all muscled dive watches out there.
To be clear I like this watch and will look to buy one, having the 40th anniversary Bond watch already in my collection. That said, I am encouraged in my chances of finding this watch with all the comments from different sources where people are saying it's not for them. Great content as usual. Cheers.
It is a beautiful watch - and as mentioned in your video it's only 'subtle' James Bond. It won't be a limited edition reference, but I have heard it is going to be produced in limited quantities in 2023. The quick flippers will no doubt be lining up.
Thanks, nice vid. Agree, my niece had Hello Kitty stuff years ago, I can understand someone would love to collect Bond stuff. The watch is great but 2 no go elements for me : the cone-shaped valve and the hands. Wearing a 1963 Seamaster 300 today.
Great review sir. To me, this blue one isn’t really cheesy at all and I absolutely intend to get one. I say that because, like you said, the fun part that I love is hidden and is only between you and your watch, which is a great way to put it I might add. Thank you for sharing, subscribed.
Love this watch, in fact so much that it's put me in a pickle over which to buy this or the speedy57 burgendy
I have never been a big fan of this watch, although I do not doubt its quality, excellent specifications, etc, but for the price, I can think of five or six watches that I would buy before this one. I mentioned apart the model with diamonds, which I find horrible.
Thanks Andy for another great video. Take care.
Agree with you Andy, ultimately not for me but a lot to like! Such a strong link to Bond may put all but the die-hard Bond fans off, but just as a watch I really like many aspects of the blue steel one. Looks very cool overall. For me though personally I would prefer on oyster style bracelet as opposed to the Milanese with straight ends & gap to case, & the seconds hand taken from the other, recent black sea-master release rather than the lollipop. Otherwise, very nice! I really like the blue/silver colour combination & the dark blue bezel with ‘60’ at 12.
Even though I love my 300 white dial, I'm with you on this. Big fan of Omega and grew up with Bond movies, but putting anything on any watch to associate it with a fictional character just ruins the watch for me. The steel watch looks great. Love the lumed bezel and mesh bracelet , just needs a normal case back. The gold watch just needs to go in the same deep dark cave as the Rainbow Daytona!
Yes I can see it may be worth owning if you’re a collector, but it’s generally a down grade to the normal model, which has a ceramic dial and bezel. I’m liking the 40mm dive watches more lately such as the latest tag heuer aqua racer 200m which looks much better than the normal model. I also like the new Tudor pelogos 39mm 200 m. The 42mm seamaster looks slightly large, don’t get me wrong it’s a fantastic watch. Thanks for the video, as always very enjoyable and insightful 👍🏻 . Ps I’m so happy to see you back to your old self and continuing to put out great videos . All the best mate 👍🏻
Love it… That’s watch collecting for you! ☝🏾😉👍🏾
Your channel is underrated. Thanks for your hard work!
Thank you
Like some of the other guys said...even though these novelties are absolutely not for me, I watch all of your episodes. The wry little comments made it all SO worth it! Have a good one Andy!
Thank you. I’m glad I add enough wit to make it worth the watch.
Nice watch tried several times to get it from local AD gave up this week and got 300smp 75th anniversary
I just wish they made all modern SMPs with that wave dial and a matte bezel like that. I sold my SMP because it reflected every little bit of light which annoyed me
The Canopus Gold SeaMaster 300 looks like a $200 Chinese watch Jody from JOMW might include in Black Friday specials.
they are listed on Goldsmiths too, the gold one is £137,300. not a fan of either but love the previous no time to die edition
Thank you Andy for another interesting and well presented video! I think the watch and bracelet absolutely don't match. Maybe a black NATO strap with blue line or a blue one with a white line is what I would go for,. The watch has more of a sporty appeal to me , and the elagant Milanese strap seems a bit out of place. Thanks again and keep up your fantastic work!
Nice video. I would have preferred that they use the slimmer and lighter titanium case of the NTTD for that blue 60th Anniversary watch which has the waves 🌊 pattern on its dial. But anyway I think it is nice and it should sell well.
I wonder if we are looking at the future dial design for the next standard 300m release 🤔
Great video Andy. I wasn’t aware of the gun barrel indices overlap with the lollipop seconds hand. I’ve never owned a “Bond” edition watch but can see why collectors would like this. The animation at the back makes this special but the homage to the original dial isn’t so creative. At least it wasn’t covered in 007s like the 50th edition one.
I guess there’s a balance to be made. I’m think it hits the mark with just enough Bondness. I prefer the NTTD though, but ultimately like your white dial more.
@@TheEnglishWatch Thanks Andy 🙌. Keep up the excellent work.
This one has been a no brainer IMO from Omega. A 'new' blue dial Omega SM300 offering the combined aspects of the standard and NTTD versions, but with the ability to ask a huge price premium over the existing steel version. Maybe a Bond fan's collector's piece, but not one I'd consider.
Great review! Hopefully you can follow up with a hands on review at some point. I have a 600m and Sub so wasn’t looking at the 300, but this is quirky enough to fit.
I’d love to get my hands on one.
Great Video! I personally think that Omega is doing too many special editions. And this boutique only is really anoying. So Planet Ocean 43 mm and Omega Seamaster 300m in black or blue is ok, plus a Speedmaster Hesalite - then you are done with Omega. Period. In case you want something really special, then go for Seamaster Ploprof and have the feeling of Gianni Agnelli, unfortunately the black dial is gone.
The Canopus gold with light colored gemstones is joallerie watch aimed at women's market. It will look absolutely gorgeous on women.
you'd have to really love her because it costs £137,300 lol
The Hamilton murph has just been released in a 38mm version, which in contrast to my previous comment , may seem small , I think I prefer this in the 42mm . 38mm may be a tad small. I’d love one in the perfect 40mm size. I’m still lusting after the iwc spitfire though , that’s my grail
Got the big one last week - beautifully made, but highly reflective crystal and strong fauxtina make it virtually unreadable in anything less than perfect conditions! Can only imagine the smaller one is even more problematic. Damn shame, I'll be selling at a loss it's that bad. Just a heads up, have a look at one in the flesh before buying one. Cheers mate
@@stevefox8605 thanks 🙏 mate , yeah I’ve got the khaki field in both 38 and 42mm also the green or olive dial in the mechanical, I love the automatics both, but 38mm is a tad large and the 42 seems to big . 40 mm I guess is what is like 👍🏻. I believe the iwc spitfire is around 39mm which would be good but it’s a very expensive watch for my pockets . Mind you I do love Hamilton and they are such great value. A tad small I meant to say lol 😂
@@marcdee4427 good luck getting your Spitfire, gorgeous watch. Cheers mate 👍
The blue one is marketing genius, sure to be a big seller. Love it!! Can't beat a Milanese, wearing my SM300 on a Staib.
The other one is about as Bond as knitting imho- way too camp, just awful!! Cheers mate 👍🏻👍🏻
nice watch i love it ..... cheers
What's the fair market value of this watch in July, 2024?
Somehow, I feel that I like the discreet plainness of this watch. I didn’t like the lack of the triangle with dot at 12 o’clock on the bezel, but now feel this is an improvement as it adds to the overall simplicity. A real diver may like it less, however. The lack of a pointed seconds hand is unimportant, since this is not a chronograph seconds hand, and I like the way the blob matches the hour dots on the dial. The Milanese bracelet is very elegant too. My favourite Seamaster 300 diver so far, after the Rio 2016. Regarding the review, I think I know less about this watch after watching it through than I did before. This is not usual for your reviews, and perhaps reflects your lack of enthusiasm for this particular watch or style of watch. At least you bothered to look things up for us when you didn’t know. I think the price of the Canopus Gold ladies’ version is about £75k.
It was a last minute job, and a discovery session not having access to all the media data ahead of launch.
I appreciate you watched as I do enjoy making content, but clearly not the day job…..and thankfully, for you guys, not too often 😁.
On first view I was all in on this (just the £7100 to find). However, you can get the regular blue dial/bezel model on a rubber strap and the same bracelet as the 007 for £4500ish, if you go via Chrono24, etc. The £2500 difference is not loose change, and you’d also have two straps. The ‘package’ with what is a plain box and no extra straps or trinkets is severely lacking for the RRP.
But you won’t have the spotty box 😁
Or that caseback, which is a beaut.
The dial would also have red on it
@@AnotherDaveInParadise the killer for me is its ss and not titanium like the NTTD watch. If it was i can at least justify the premium.
Likes (for me) non red text for ‘professional’, shark mesh, lumed bezel. Dislikes - alum bezel, no pip and triangle on top of bezel (I know that gets rid of the ‘60’ but not really interested in that numbering over the functionality)
I don’t see the Rainbow version as a realistic Bond watch, the blue one is nice but prefer the NTTD as its in the actual movies on Bonds wrist.
My brother who own a NTTD as a birthday present I bought for him, think this watch is beautiful and wanna own this one until he see the back of it 😂.
I like it.
Having the 60 text on the bezel doesn't mean you miss out on a lume pip, because the bezel is lumed and the 60 is picked out in green. I think it looks good that way. This is the first 300m that's really tempted me.
Great watch.no bond on the front is good.i want it as my next watch.omega fanboy
The colour bezel with a grey dial doesn't work in my opinion. I love the grey dial...I love the colourful bezel but not on the same watch.
😂 I think they let rip on that one.
@@TheEnglishWatch yeah...to eager to follow the rainbow Daytona.
It doesn't have a date window..
Big fan of omega but these two don't do it for me think I will stick with my white and black 300 together with my planet oceans nice presentation Andy
Nice and early mate 👍🏻
BOND , JAMES BOND . - URSULA ANDRESS was amazing . ~ JDS/CT
No date is the best feature. Other than that the standard model seems better in every way
I really like the blue steel but bling is not for me No date and the colour is spot on and not too overt on the Bond Hope i can get one
4:00 a discrete gentleman... wearing a huge flashy 42 mm watch ? 🤔
Interesting new video, but I prefer the sleaker "300" toolwatch version, awaiting the " Seamaster Only " reference guide focusing on all the Seamaster toolwatches !
Worn between triquetrum wrist bone and the forearm, we fear that the HeV Helium valve toothpaste cap at 10 o'clock must hit & after a while hurt the forearm bone near the left wrist ?!
Large 42 mm & huge 45 mm watches for James Bond, while Britsh author Ian Fleming wrote about a subtle 36 mm Explorer 1016 gentleman's wrist watch.
Then again times change and after all... "De Gustibus Non Est Disputandum" .
Can’t help thinking that if 007 were real and not a figment of fiction writing then his mechanical watch of choice today would be a 124060...not something that looks like it came out of a Quality Street box.
Can’t imagine either of these with a tuxedo somehow....be a hit with the About Effing Time crew no doubt.
Love Omega . . . mostly; I’ve always thought this Bond stuff is a bit naff
Submariner was in earlier movies not later :-) But I know what you meant ;-)
60th anniversary or No time to die?🤔🤔
I like it except that Milanese bracelet needs a rest.
What wsa going through the mids at Omega HQ when they came up with this idea? Something that would only cheapen their brand/company.
As a Bond memorbilia collector woud it not make more sense to buy the actual Bond item used by that actor IN the film at an auction??? Connery's martini glass. Moore's suit worn in Octopussy....as if the Moore family wouldn't be keeping any and all items touched by Moore in his films....why would the Moore family give any items away unless raising funds for a charity...
I think Aston Martin actualy and a "Bond Edition" car....sold to very wealthy nerds with little good sense...Rolex knew better (not to do ths with their Submariner)...as did Breitling, Hamilton.....
Love the blue one but second one no thanks
The way you talk, you're as exciting as a backdoor butterd 😆
Smooth, like Bond himself.
@@TheEnglishWatch Don't you worry, you'll never be Bond, not even the paper ones.
😢
@@TheEnglishWatch You wouldn't even Bond with super glue 😆 🤣 😂
I feel a bond forming here.
Crikey !. The Canopus Gold makes the Rolex Rainbow Daytona look almost wearable, what on earth were Omega thinking of when they came up with that vile thing. Sword hands Omega, Sword hands !!, will they ever listen. I will stick with my 2254-50 thanks very much !.
Beautiful watch. Be patient and in two years can be found 30% cheaper in the pre-owned market.
Not everyone wants to buy pre-owned. I’d rather pay £7,100 new than £5,500 pre-owned.
@@nickcorleone8709 I absolutely love Omega, but I tend to flip my watches after 3-4 years (Rolex being the exception). As a result, I prefer to buy Omegas pre-owned, so I don't lose a lot of money. Take a 40%-50% hit when I sale them is not an option for me. I love watches, but I hate to waste money.
A very enjoyable watch, pun intended!
The Hamilton Pulsar is way cooler.
I disagree with you comment "if you have to ask you can't afford it". Many people can afford a lot of items but they still use common sense whether they should buy that specific item due to pricing. Owning a luxury in no way will improve your life!
I agree all but the last sentence
@@nickcorleone8709 can you elaborate on how owning a luxury item will improve your quality of life?
@@vinhhuynh1205
If you read what I said correctly, I said it wouldn’t not it would!
@ The English Watch ,are you part of the delivery scam?

@@TheEnglishWatch Thanks, l didn't fell for it.
If it's too good to be true, it most certainly is.
Speaking without the mouth open?
If you have to ask, you can’t afford it haha
60 years, omega only been a part of bond since 1990s, if its 60 years it should be a rolex..
I've never bought and never will buy a watch without date..................especially at £7,000+
Dates on a watch is essential for everyday life.
@textontelegrantheenglishwa4879 Thanks. Is it a Rolex? 😆
The clasp is still a disaster.
A beautiful blue dial, but an aluminum bezel? Wanna charge 2k more and downgrade it? This is a beautify overall, but I'll keep mine. Fans might have gone nuts if they removed the helium escape valve, which I'm fine with but so many people complain about.
The HEV is where the detonator is. Essential function for your average secret agent.
@@TheEnglishWatch FYI i know many who got into the seamaster precisely because of the HEV. It has become the DNA of a seamaster.
So i think over generalizations are out of order . Best you get hard data on sales figures. Am sure if hev were that despised omega would have done away with it long time ago. It's hard to argue from the outside looking in.
I’ve never had a problem with it. It’s a quirky differentiator.
@@TheEnglishWatch Neither have I. I like it, but over the last three years, I've talked to hundreds of watch collector/enthusiasts, who won't get the 300M because of the helium escape valve, calling it a wart and such.
Lovely watch IMHO, but… I really hate milanaise bracelets and I really don’t understand why on earth Omega keeps choosing this bracelets for the Bond versions. I can’t remember seeing James Bond wearing a milanaise bracelet. But off course I hate them, that’s my opinion. No one has to agree with me. I’m sure some people find them gorgeous. The canopus gold one is not for me at all. Even when I had the money for it, it doesn’t appeal to me at all.
it's another "meh!" for me!
This is a downgrade the ordinary seamaster is better and cheaper and I don’t even like the seamaster only because of the hideous wart which is pointless, omega are just trying to cash in with this model, no ceramic bezel, not even a loom pip, no ceramic dial, this watch is cheaper to make yet omega want £7000 for it ? Are you kidding me !
Overpriced.
No ceramic Bezel.
No “Seamaster” in red.
Goofy seconds hand.
Possibly two of the ugliest watches ever, as for £7100 mad, £2k over the normal one, no, no, no. I won’t be rushing to see or buy these, don’t even start on that mish mosh mash diamond thing, with that horrendous dial, oh dear, yuk.
I’m so relieved They have kept the helium escape valve Glorious signature
…..and detonator for Meester Bond.
No no no...Andrew, Andrew Andrew,... Roger Moore went all Seiko and digital and not Casio. BTW about the same time there was this helicopter Airwolf thing that went all Casio, and now those things are very collectable. Otherwise an excellent vid... Laters.
Custard pie in the post.
