  • Chase heads to Arizona and teams up with Aamon Jaeger to help excavate petrified tree specimens from a region where the subterranean layer of petrified trees goes as deep as 900 feet. Joining Chase and Aamon are frequent Chasing History guests Ty Lamph of Utah Dump Diggers and Andre Lujan and Matt Harrell from the Texas Through Time Museum.

@@ChasingHistory Ive struggled with wind for years (my other channel mainly), but finally figured out lav mics and body positioning. A lot of things to struggle with for a small channel when you have to be producer, narrator, videographer, etc.

This is Private property, but if you look online you can find places and ways to collect fossil wood.

@@ChasingHistory oh darn!!!! I live in southern Idaho. We have lots of places to find pet wood, but I've yet to see huge logs like that around here. I'm guessing if a person could dig deep enough, they might be there. Not only is this area an ancient lake/flood area, it's also an ancient volcanic area with a lot of either dormant or still active features. In fact, I just found a nice seven plus pound chunk of pet wood a week and a half ago!
