    My family is dutch and will reuse the crap out of a paper plate. mostly my Grand parents but my mom makes us wash out ziploc bags and foil. the struggle is real. thank you for the straight forward answer. you would think the name says it all but we do like to stretch a dime don't we.

    You most definitely should be using a paper plate more than once at a picnic!

    Question: If I'm hearing you correctly, you're saying that the daily lenses have *more* R&D into being more breathable than monthly lenses. Wouldn't a lens that is purported to be monthly have even more breathability than dailies? Both "monthly" and "daily" lenses have been around for a long time. Why do you consider monthly lenses less breathable than dailies?

      @Damiancontursi 11 днів тому

      that statement was so confusing since in specs dailies are actually less breathable than biweekly or monthly.

    What if you take the lens out and put in the solution, can you wear them back in that same day?

      The solution might be able to clean it somewhat, like he said, the lens gathers "debris" from various sources over time, the problem here is that they are advertised as "daily", meaning let's be generous and say actual 24 hours, even if you're suppose to sleep for 6-8 of those, that means they are "guaranteed" to last for 24 hours, that means they aren't going to go bad (fill up with debris) on the 25th hour, this "doctor" is being dishonest, the truth is an unknown, like it depends on where you use them, in a sand storm? Or just at home in front of a computer screen, he makes it sound like they shouldn't be used after one day, but, if we talk about the debris, you should in theory be able to use them for 4 hours a day, 4 hours on monday, 4 hours on tuesday, 4 hours on wednesday, 4 hours on thursday, 4 hours on friday, 4 hours on saturday, that adds up to a total of 24 hours, of "debris" being built up inside or on them, question is then, if there's anything like bacteria that will cause uncomfort or an infection of some kind, but that's where the lens solution comes in as you just said, let's say you stored them in monthly lens cases with a solution, I would be very surprised if they weren't perfectly good after 6 days of wearing them 4 hours daily and then putting them in a solution. I think a simple way to find out, is to try it. I might do this myself. I rarely use lenses but I still think they cost too much, monthly lenses are far cheaper, less than half the price of daily ones in my city (per month), but if you lose one, it's obviously far more expensive than daily ones, and if I use daily ones, I can skip some days where I don't feel I need them, just use them on occasion like a weekend, then they're cheaper than monthly ones, but the downside is that I can't wear them every day without it costing too much, a very simple solution to my problem is to re-use daily lenses, maybe use the same pair over a whole weekend, 8 hours on friday after work, 8 hours on saturday and 8 hours on sunday, keep them over night in lens solution, that would dramatically reduce monthly cost and I wouldn't be scared to lose one.

    I wear air optix 30 day extended wear lenses but generally take them out each month and leave in hydrogen peroxide lense cleaner then put them back in and wear them for another month. I used to do 3 months but by month 3 I end up with dry eyes and have to take them out at night which defeats the purpose of extended wear. I have been wearing extended wear for 8 years now and daily lenses for 12 years before that and my eyes are still fine. What do you reckon to these 90 day extended wear lenses? Will they really be good for that long? Also I have 9mm pupils under low light, can you recommend a brand with a 10mm+ focusing window so I don't get ghosting under low light conditions?

      I've been wearing monthly lenses for 20+ years and I keep a pair for upwards of 6 months or more. I even have a pair I'm wearing now that is at least a year old. I can't sleep that pair for more than a couple of days before having to take them out, so I know they're on their way out but they are still fine. And I had my eyes checked only three years ago and they're still fine.

    i don’t know much about contacts but i’m 14 and i hate my glasses. i look so much prettier without them. but i can’t see without them. i cant read a speed limit sign that’s 5 feet in front of me without them. the only thing i like abt them is when i go to bed i can just take them off whereas contacts you can’t just take them out that easily. so if i wear contacts and then at the end of the day take them out, can i wear them the next day? if so how many days? i’m sorry if this is a stupid question

      Hiii, I’d recommend monthly contacts to save money, so you can reuse them on a day to day basis for a period of 1 month. If u use them make sure to sanitize properly. Contact lenses are more difficult to take out but as u get used to it, it will become easier to take them out.
