Everlast first made it as a solo artist and member of Ice T's Syndicate, it didnt take off and he formed House of Pain, and I am 1000% sure you have heard them. Jump Around is one of the all time 90's hip hop classics. Played at every club, nhl, nfl, mlv, and nba game, it has been in many movies and video games.
"You know where it ends, it usually depends on where you start". I always hear that part and it makes me think of so much. Like someone who grew up in a bad environment or is homeless or has mental illness or is on drugs, someone who is a good person dealing with hard things and the start could be during the middle of everything and they have to decide where they want tot take their life, which route do they want to take. Could be a relationship, someone starting one with someone they know is not right for them, or someone who knows they are not fit to be with anyone and chase it anyways knowing they will fail and it will end horribly for both of them. Or it could be well it ends the same for everyone, in death, but the end will be different for everyone, some will die young, some die in the streets, some die of hunger, and then some die after a long happy life surrounded by loved ones and a family, just depends on what you do, or just based off of the hand you were dealt in life. I can think of a dozen more interpretations. Also makes me think of another lyric, "you don't choose your name, just what you leave in your wake".
