  • A detailed review of the Binger 8606 and Reef Tiger RGA1995, which I’m dubbing the double “double tourbillions.” :D I talk all the ins and outs of how these two cheapo watches match up as I hunt for a stand-in for my long term grail save. #grailwatch #watchreview #watchcollecting

    Ailang does a much better job than the binger. it has the clock subdial at the top. this is topped by the Thomas Earnshaw Beaufort ñ, which is an homage of the Breguet Tradition. kind of.

    What about the accuracy of the Binger watches?

      oh I wouldn't put to much faith in the accuracy beyond what any typical low-end mechanical movement can provide, which isn't awful, but that depends on your perspective. Probably +/- 30 sec a day, could maybe be better or worse. I've since sold it as I didn't wear it much...or maybe I gave it away.

      Same movement/manufacturing under a different name. That's how these Chinese factories operate. Just sometimes they change up the dial and name/logo.

    The Binger does really have 45 jewels? After lying on the leather strap and on the saffire glass, I don´t know what to think.

      I doubt it has 45 jewels, as I mentioned in the video. Not 100% sure without taking it fully apart, but based on what I can see and know, unlikely, and certainly not necessary even if there were 45.

    Are the watches still working

      The Binger works just fine, has a fun look about it, and is entertaining for the price. The Reef Tiger I returned after a couple days (for the reasons discussed in the series).

    How much price

    • @WatchComplications
      @WatchComplications  4 роки тому

      The Binger was about $100 and the Reef Tiger was about $200. Binger is the much better deal.

    you don't collect these. there is nothing to collect here ... only a waste of money. you can get really descent watches for the price of these ''watches''. not these ....

      while I get your point, some people like these sort of watches. Not me particularly, though I use them for a couple purposes. 1. Get a feel for a design, and 2. Tinker with them. I mention that the Reef Tiger would be a waste of money, I got it for the comparison and then returned it. The Binger was just a cheep stand-in until I got something better and more like my grail. If you look at the latest video in the series, you will see that I have acquired an Armin (ua-cam.com/video/jD0ceDcUy_M/v-deo.html) and in the near future you will see it featured in more videos. I have sold the Binger, and now have the Armin Gravity Water. Collecting is a broad brush, so I’m ok with low-cost watches to haute horology, as long as people understand what they are buying, which is what my channel is all about.

      I collect watches I like. Sometimes it’s ones that catch my eye. The design and price of this caught mine. Researching, you’ll quickly find these are Chinese with a generic movement. The few online reviews point to quality being decent and the movement works fine. I’m probably going to get one but for just an art/conversation piece. If it breaks I’ll take it apart and play around with it, etc. I’ve got three watches I got when I was young and broke and they all still work 30 years later and I’ve had lots I’d practice playing with the links and such.
