Interesting! I didn't know I could do all that on the iPhone15. However, I can't find many of the shortcuts you mention, like the one "Convert burst to gif". Neither a research on "convert" or "burst" works. My language setting is French, but "Conv..." should render a result. How do I get all the shortcuts mentioned in your video?
Hi, I encountered the same thing too. Turns out that you need to formulate the mentioned shortcut in the Shortcut app. I tried it a few times before I got the right one. Try opening your Shortcut app, then add a shortcut. It will let you add actions that will be executed using the Shortcut app. This is what I did to create a GIF - In the shortcut app, click “add shortcut” - Then for the 1st action, click Photos - Then “Get the Latest Burst” - Then click “Make GIF from Latest Burst” - Then click “Save GIF to recents” Hope this helps.
Excellent Tips, any way to copy the long exposure to a windows PC and preserve the long exposure look of say a waterfall? I want to insert the pic into a video - Thanks!
awesome tips. pro max here, first iphone. many things to explore, will for sure use most of these tips. however, i wonder why does the live photo video differ from the actual photo, live photo looks much more natural than the last frame, which seems overcontrasted
My iphone 15 pro won't go into the edit mode with the f stop button. I've tried and tried. HELP! (lol) I'm trying to increase the depth of field on my existing shots. TIA
Thank you for the video! It was helpful, except the parts using the shortcuts app (it is an expensive app and it seems in this video that you have got it by default in your iPhone 😂).
Thanks. Quite useful. BUT when you change the key photo of a Live Photo the resolution goes way down to that of the video (~2mp resolution) accompanying the single high res 12mp/24mp shot. Not great unless you only intend to display it on a screen and do not intend to expand or further crop the photo
Managed to get Gallery eventually by holding the shortcut icon momentarily and then choosing Gallery from a small drop-down window and then finding an appropriate title in a drop-down list (ican,t remember which) and then finding Say Cheese.
Do you have another video in which you describe the best way to transfer RAW images from iPhone 15 Pro to iMac (M1, 2021)? When I use Air Drop, it says the file is HEIC, but I read that HEIC is even more compressed than jpg.
Hi Stephen - do the following - go into the settings of the Photos app (not the camera app) - at the bottom select keep originals. Now your RAW files will be transferred via Airdrop!
@@MountMediaChannel Hi Werner. Thanks for the reply. I followed your instructions and checked Keep Originals in Photo settings on the iPhone. I also rebooted the iPhone (15 Pro). I then sent a couple of photos I'd shot in RAW to my iMac (2021, Ventura 13.5). Both came through as jpgs. One was shot at 1x so 48 MP. The other was 2x, so 12 MP. The file size of the 1st one in Photos on the iPhone was 130.5 MP. In iMac downloads it arrived as a 22.1 MP jpg. The 2nd one was 39.1 MP originally and arrived as a 6.5 MP jpg. Do you have any further suggestions for me? Update: Just to be sure, I took a fresh picture in RAW at 1x and sent it to the iMac. It came through in full resolution DNG format at 85 MP. I don't recall having edited the 2 previous pix, although I did add a caption to both. On Apple Support it says if you edit the photo in iPhone, it will transfer as a jpg. Is adding a caption considered an edit? Two more questions about that if I may. I quite like those first 2 photos. Is there no way to "unedit" them so I can transfer them as RAW files? Second, I'll be uploading these images into Photoshop. Is DNG the correct format for further editing or do I need to again convert them so I can work on them in PS? BTW: I really enjoyed your video on iPhone 15 camera tricks. One particular favourite is getting SIRI to trigger a photo with "Say cheese". I'll be using that for sure. I've also subscribed to your UA-cam channel.
Hi Stephen, yes - I would say that adding a caption can be considered as edit. Try the following: tap on the 3 dots in the upper right corner and select "Revert to Original" and then transfer the file. You could also try to connect your iPhone via cable to your Mac and upload the photos to the Desktop Photos App. And then Export as original. I'm not a Photoshop expert - but I think Photoshop uses a RAW converter to handle DNG files. So the format should be fine. @@stephengrayvision3985
@MountMediaChannel. Thanks again for taking the time to reply Werner. The dropdown from the 3 dots didn't have" revert to original" Maybe it thinks this is the original. But it still converted it to HEIC for transfer via Air Drop. I'll try your other suggestion.
I just switched from Samsung To a New IPhone 15 pro max blue Titanium and All I'll say is its incredible!! it's like a pro camera gaming system and plethora of apps for work and generating documents etc etc etc and Vr glasses work with it, my playstation controller syncs with my iphone 15 pro max to play games on my TV using proper controller. Finally a video that says more than the usual stuff. I liked the tips of the rotating photo, the shutter button to the left, and the shortcuts.
So many tips and tricks but any model of iPhone doesn’t have “ pause” button in video mode so essential. Nobody talks about it!
Now it’s available in ios 18
Love your tips. I've just upgraded from my ageing iPhone 7 to an iPhone15 Plus. There's so much cool stuff to catch up on! 🙂
Very helpful Werner… thank you for posting.
I’ve owned an iPhone since forever and I’m blown away by the revelation of a few of the tricks in this video 👍🙏

Like with all smartphones all the photos are heavily processed - so the video might be a less processed version

@@MountMediaChannel well, should I just connect via usb-C cable iphone & and macbook?
Try landscape orientation. We live in a horizontal world.
Wow great vid

Great tips. The “Say Cheese” short cut App doesn’t show in the Gallery App on my iPhone pro max. How can I find it?
I can,t find Gallery, never.mind Say Cheese
Managed to get Gallery eventually by holding the shortcut icon momentarily and then choosing Gallery from a small drop-down window and then finding an appropriate title in a drop-down list (ican,t remember which) and then finding Say Cheese.
Just try typing “say”
Another trick to open the camera is to setup tapping the phone at the back
