  • Enjoy some Jr. Dragbike Racing from the Reading Motorcycle Club in Oley, Pa. This is a unique 480-foot track and teh perfect place for these kids to get some experience. RMC is an independent track, which is why they are allowed to run this class. Citing insurance reasons, NHRA and IHRA will not host this class. What do you think of Jr. Dragbike racing? Good for the kids or Too Dangerous?

Sounds like the argument between my mother and my father when he bought me a mini bike at the age of 8. Been riding for 40 years mom and I’m still in one piece! Thanks dad!

When is society going to let kids be kids? It's good to see young people doing something positive! Look out SPIDERMAN! Is it dangerous? Yes ,but you take your family down the interstate? Those young people are safer on the track. Y'all rock!

Waking up in the morning can be dangerous. I love it! This is how I was raised. But I grew up riding threewheelers. No criminal record here. Lots of scares and broken bones throughout the years but kept my ass outta trouble. Having fun is what's it's all about and if your having fun with your family it's priceless!!!

I have been on two wheels since i could walk. These kids will grow up and understand how to take risks in life. They learn safety, focus, preparedness, planning , organization, team work, mechanics, encouragement, how to deal with loss or defeat just to name a few. If its a family effort the lessons are life long and endless. Let em race! Futures leaders.

The most dangerous thing a kid can do is nothing. Racing brings families together and teaches kids all kinds of positive things (Mechanical aptitude, sense of fair play, healthy competitiveness, teamwork, empathy, sharing and a host more). My son started racing downhill mountain bikes when he was 14 or so. Dangerous? Sure. Worthwhile? Absolutely! Now he’s a graduate student in Mechanical Engineering at an excellent public university. He’s kind, well grounded, confident and fit. He has a healthy balance and I couldn’t be more proud. “Dangerous” racing was a big part of his development.

I've been racing at Oley since I was a little kid. My father runs the Unlimited class and pro mode class still in his 60s. I've loved all that I've gotten from this and am building a Jr. For my kids. I live in vermont and will be traveling down to Pa this upcoming season. If the kids don't ride...the sport dies.

I stopped riding motorcycles after a bad dirt bike wreck, but the NHRA can't tell me that this is more dangerous than motocross. Hell, i think this class will help Jr racers transition to a bigger bike. Even if I would prefer my kids (if i had any) hop in a car, I would honestly let them try something like this out.

Art Jinks, unfortunately commonsense no longer exists today. Drag racing is the safest form of motorsport, statistically. Look at the damage being done by skateboarding, scooters and other "kids wheeled toys". What do you do?. Video games are full of violence but that's ok,?.
