By the way, if you stop and wait if there's straight ahead option only (using the left lane) the assessor takes points for flow. Now that you understand what they expect you to do and what the rules are, you are less likely to do it wrong.

Just yesterday I was approaching a 2 lane roundabout, I was in the left lane and heading straight. There's no car in the left lane of the roundabout to my right (so my lane is clear) but there is a lady in the right lane with her indicator on continuing to turn right. For whatever reason, as I enter as it was safe to do so, she decides to honk at me and nearly T bones me. For whatever reason she decided that she wanted to change lanes in the middle of the roundabout. Annoyingly enough after that near miss she takes the same exit as me and follows me. I assume she changed lanes from right to left in the middle of the roundabout because our exit road was 'keep left unless overtaking' and she didn't want to change lanes after exiting the roundabout. She was on her P's so maybe a new driver.
So she was definitely in the wrong, but it then got me thinking, IF she had continued straight ahead from the middle/right lane instead of continuing to turn right, I would have been at fault for failing to give way and not reading traffic correctly. Duel lane roundabouts are tricky, and impatient drivers behind you can always make it worse, my advice, just ignore those behind you and always enter the roundabout with caution

Yes, it was really useful, especially to see how it looks driving on the left side (I'm German) 😆.
    Thank you! 🤗

I like how you mentioned to always check even though it's a solid white line, my guess is 80 odd percent of drivers these days totally ignore the fact it's solid and change lanes anyway, they'll even change lanes amidst traffic lights intersections.

Thanks for pointing that out! I agree, I see it all the time, people change anyway in any conditions

I'm doing my driving test next week on these very roads Malaga drive and I think this is beach road.
Think you've cleared it up for me if it's a duel lane road..I'm allowed to proceed into the roundabout if the outside lane is free just like entering a duel lane road from a junction. Am I correct?
    Great video 👍

How long roughly until the updated “Joondalup Test Route” video will be uploaded?
I can’t wait. This will be an incredible help for me when sitting my test in a couple of months.

It's on the list, but can't specify the date. It depends on how busy we are. We are small business that handles hundreds of enquieries every week.
I hope to get it done before school holidays.
      Cheers!

What would be the correct procedure when you have a solid line at the end of the road, with a giveaway sign also? This always confuses me. Would love to know your thoughts?

    • @DrivingSchoolWA
      @DrivingSchoolWA  2 роки тому +1

If the line is deviding lanes you should never cross it unless it's an emergency. If the line is stop sign or traffic lights line, check our related videos on those topics

2:28 turning into multi-lanes road, which lane do you choose? I see people going into the right lane after turn, but someone told me I must go into the left lane.

You can choose any lane as on the vehicle book as long as it’s clear to do so (make sure if there’s another lane next to you also turning that there’s no car doing the same)
