the velcro cable ties should be attached to 1 cable, then wrapped around the rest, so that when you open them they hang from the cable ( for adding and removing cables from the bundle)
Jo be happy your brother is cleaning the kitchen. Thats so nice of him
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought about sticking one of those cable management boxes on the bottom of my desk.
I finally decided to get a small table to keep my desktop over it so that i can manage the cable well and also stretch my desk when am sitting on my sit/stand desk. thank you!
Mounting the cable box on the table itself -- brilliant.
Dude, thank you for this! I have a standup desk as well, and was wondering how I should mount my cable box. This video just confirmed my curiosity of "Can this be done?" So, again, thanks for sharing!!
I've got a sit/stand desk too. And i just extended the cable going to the sub woofer by cutting the wire and adding in a new length of wire.
That way i only have one bundle of wires going from the desk to the PC standing on a separate desk.
But i really like your mounting-the-cable-box idea for a even cleaner look.
Thanks for shearing
Nicely done. I didn't know about cable boxes when I did mine I just bolted a long metal bracket across the bottom to wrap cords around so that they don't hang down when plugged to the surge strip also bolted to the bottom
Great vid, Ben! I love cable management, and love seeing how others approach theirs. Well done, it looks great!
i like the 3m tape havent seen it in any cable managment videos very nice
Thank you. I've been tripping all over my office.....with this tutorial I won't any longer.
When he reached back I was so confused because I thought the desk was a lot farther
TheRealTerik when he reached back I had to rewind haha like what the heck
If you've seen one video cable management video you've seen them all. So far the 20+ videos I have seen all use similar & same products with nothing really impressive. Thanks for listing the products in the description for those that would like to order them.
Thank you for these helpful tips ⭐️
Nice video, I personally never use zip-ties as well. There's this cut to size hook and loop rolls made specifically for cable management, of which I always have a few rolls on hand.
Good video; lots of good cabling solutions. Little brother has some passive aggressive action going on... 😆
That camera angle. When you reached back to grab the tape off your desk, it blew my mind. I thought you were WAY farther away.
Bruh I don't know how you're the only person that I've seen comment about this
@@nat2r Yeah, man. Blew my mind
@@nat2r Wrinkled my brain.
100 6 inch cable ties 2.00 usd from SF cable. 4 velcro strap 6.99 usd at ACE hardware.
Wow! Just loved your take on cable management and desk organising. It's sick and I've cleared my thoughts whether to buy cable box or not. Liked and Please do more videos!
For a headphone mount you can just buy adhesive headphone mount which is supposed to go on the side of the monitor. But I use them to stick to the side of my glass desk. It takes up no room and are very cheap👍
I like that box for the power supply.
Great video! Regarding the cable in-box that you mounted upside-down, how did you keep the top of it from falling off and onto the floor? Does it fit pretty snuggly? Or did you secure it with something? Thanks again!
Great tips, I recently bought some double sided adhesive squares, pads? anyhow, they are meant for automotive so I am hoping it will hold my power brick and all the wires under my desk, I tried with some double sided sticky velcro pads but they just came off. I am hoping these pads will work otherwise I will hopefully track down some of that tape you use, new product to my knowledge, thanks for the link :)
That mounting tape you used for the cable box is pure crap. I've tried it several times and it doesn't hold worth a shit. I'm using a brand that scotch makes for outdoor. It's considerably stronger though I still suggest hard mounting with screws or something because it will eventually wear out and fall.
Micah Powers
I kept thinking "that's gonna hurt when it falls in your foot".
I've never seen anyone mount those boxes before. There are a few different cable wranglers designed to be mounted under a desk, and generally those will work much better.
TRUE
So true, mounted my power strip this way and it fell off after a couple days. Not meant for this type of application.
i just used black tape works very well
Thanks for the video I found it very informative. Trying to get organized myself so this is very helpful.
Note that with adhesive tape installations, over time the adhesive will dry out and fall off, and foam will decompose and fall apart. Tape will hold something in place long enough for silicone adhesive to set & cure, which will be a more permanent attachment. Use a silicone adhesive in a squeeze tube or caulk gun (not panel adhesive). Removal at a later date will require a wire garotte (like a cheese wire) so use sparingly to avoid damage to equipment or surfaces.
Good dam that was so high quality keep it up
I have a 98 tabletop do you know any good table frame that would support a tabletop that length? A label frame that don't charge and arm and a leg. lol
A cheap alternative to zip ties or velcro is electrical tape. It's cheap but leaves some sticky residue that easily removed.
Get a proper desk that incorporates a cable tray. Do not bundle power cables with your data cables.
Do not use that.double sided tape. It normally dries out and attachments fall down.
great idea man - thank you.
Useful video thanks
Really useful thanks
How were you able to mount the cable box underneath the desk like that? It has those feet on the bottom which cause the tape to not actually be able to touch the desk unless you use it on the feet...
The black sleeve should have been put at the right side thus resulting in a much cleaner look.
that's helping vlog thanks
What dual monitor stand is that?
dat focus

YourTechExplained under your table the black box is it UPS?
i think a beard would fit you very well :) also subbed
This will be a good benefits to my OCD
Where is the link for the headphone mount?
Good video.
Awesome video, thanks for the tips!
Great Video 👌🏽
Great Ideas, Thank you for this video
You're welcome! Glad you liked it.
I am surprised that no one has created a plastic cable tower for cable management
So you would hammer in a cable tie to the under side of the desk but wouldn't screw in the headphone mount? I'm confused. 3M mounting tape doesn't work and doesn't last.
whats the name of the monitor mount you're using??
Thank you for making this video! I am going to Best Buy and see if i can organize my current mess
+::__maggie__:: Awesome! Glad you enjoyed. - Alex
All You Need Is A Shoe Box, Wall mounts, a knife, Zip-ties, and decorations(Your Choice) To do the Basically EXACT SAME THING
GS133 Yeah, but at this point most people probably have a couple thousand invested in their PC. What does $50 in basic DIY items matter? I like these videos, myself. I need to get my cables cleaned up.
Im talking About Basic management for desk cables and i said that kind of to just save money
What monitor stand is that? And is it good?
good
I used adhesive tape to hold the power strip underneath my table.. The next day everything was hanging loose under my desk
What are you using to mount the two monitors?
your mom
@@AnimeLordchannel lol was not expecting that one
If someone wants an actual answer, it's a monitor arm on the wall (I think)
what arm/mount you use for your monitor ?
Can you tell me where you got that side table for the PC?
the camera focus hurt my eyes
Obviously personal preference trumps all, but imo, the cable sleeve isn't any more attractive than well secured cable bundles. In fact, it seems a bit more obtrusive. I would instead use a nylon sleeve that has a carbon fiber look to it.
I'm in the process of ordering and installing longer cables for things that might require that method you used otherwise. This way I can have one cable run with everything inside, and the box you mounted really is more apparent than just the power strip without the box. If you secure the connectors properly and route the wires correctly, I much prefer no box over that big of a box.
Of course you can get creative and hide things in items that don't look like something made to hide stuff in (like an old wine box, as someone said already, or perhaps even the box the Oculus Rift comes in? Maybe).
Cable management is often overlooked, and if you didn't consider it when you set up your PC, you're going to have to spend some time to redo it all, even might find that you cannot do it how you wish due to cable lengths, but Amazon has pretty affordable 10' and longer PC power cables, long display port and HDMI cables, and you can get speaker cables to whatever length you need, resistance considered.
What monitor mount is that?
Hey man Nice Videos!
what kind of powerstrip is that??
I'm the thumbnail there is a white square box under the desk... any info on that?
+BKLYNX Just holds up the subwoofer. Standing desk and needed the extra height
YourTechExplained yeah. What is it? I like
I watch videos like this all the time, but everyone only has but one PC. I have 3 how in the hell do I manage all that. I've tried so many times & can't get it to where I would like it. Also do you use the stock cables or do you buy longer cables because the stock ones are to damn short. TY
+Kjaywest 3 PCs on the same desk? Dang. I'd recommend just getting a massive "wall" to place behind the desk to hide all the cables from view.
I'm a streamer so I a streaming PC, Gaming PC, Mac for editing & a PS4. Its a nightmare...
Buy a couple large rolls of velcro (don't get the premade tie straps he suggests. Get the rolls that you can cut to length and grab the other side of it self. Then the goal is to keep as many of your cables going into the same place as you can. Depending on how your setup is laid out I would generally suggest starting with the back of each computer and make bundles coming out of them. When you can put multiple bundles together you generally want to do so. The only tricky thing to deal with in this method is where cables are different lengths you will have slack. You can either bring all the slack to one end and manage it there, or you can push all the slack to the middle (start your bundles from the other side and bring them back about half way) and manage them in the middle. One of these boxes would be real good for the latter. Check out r/cableporn for concepts. I used to work with phone/ethernet wires so I use the methods I learned there for doing my desk.
TL:DR - Buy rolls of velcro and take your time.
TechFour
Your TL:DR should be at the top of your comment. I still read most of it trying to find the meat.
Awesome video! Subbed/liked/commented :D
hi what desk is that? I like it
+Adriana Adrie Silva It's the Jarvis standing desk frame combined with a countertop from Ikea.
- Ben
Put your DSLR on manual focus bruh :P good video though!
+shane mc geown It was on manual focus 😋
Really I just shot this for fun not really thinking I'd post it, but people seemed to like it so I figured why not. If I'd had the time to reshoot, it'd look better.
you know what really grinds my gears? when there's a little wood design at the bottom of the wall and your desk isn't flush against it
Outdated Tastes get a desk with pole legs. The offset gives me no probs
Wall is white, PC case is white, furniture is white. Why not use white cable sleeve and white cable box to blend better with the room?
I can't see behind you. Is blured
I feel like your only showing us a small portions of the cable management, it would be great if you had 10 second clip of everything build once you're done, otherwise, great video
Turkey burger face what cable tie is that around your ball bag?i like !
Link to headset mount is missing.
what if there is no space between the table and the wall
+Vilhelm Damm Only think I can think is to drill a hole
Wha is a standing desk they all stand
It's a lot taller than a normal desk so that you can stand while using a computer, or what ever else you do at a desk.
Dammit I wanted to see more of your cables and less of you talking :( it looked so clean but I saw so little.
if u dont have velcro... u can use binder clips lol
Wired!
my what lovely comments, I didn’t know soo many people were giving lessons🌚
2:52 he looks at his watch... why???
Looks like Scotch Tape, not 3M. Great video though
2:02 you just fucked my mind...
Putting speaker cables and power cables together is very bad, it will create induction and result in humming .
+jean luc Dubinator Very rarely notice that actually. The audio cables are shielded.
can you not find a more suitable word than "actually" ?
I need glasses now after watching this. Sort your focus out dude 👀
link headphone ! please
hi
well, my amazon credit card is about to get a work out.. thanks
+janet remon Practice makes perfect. You got this! 😜 - Alex
can u buy me something too?
Couldn't wait 5 minutes for your brother to he done cleaning?
soon we will have wireless power
2:00 How long is your fucking arm, man? With the camera focus, it looks like that that desk should be several feet behind you.
You Need Space to make better cable management :( damn i got no space :(
Considerably more expensive? No thank you ill stick with zip ties cause they work fine????? Lol
Great job, but work on some of your video skills my dude. If you ace that then you'll be golden!
+JS Productions This was just a super quick video I shot. Wasn't really trying hard with the camera, hence all the out of focus shots.
Ugh, double-sided tape will not hold the weight of a power strip AND all the wires and power bricks you jammed into that box. Plus you have a sit-stand desk--the power cable for that strip is going to be tugging on that tape every time you raise the desk. Finally, when that heavy brick you've made finally falls off it's going to yank on every wire that it's connected to. Use screws to mount the power strip to the underside of the desk and a metal cable tray/run to support and route the cables.
Dude focus on your face!
Worst cable management products you could choose. Sorry.
What products would you prefer?
Like a velcro cable sleeve maybe..
You are the definition of copying other youtubers..
