Walter Becker died on my 60th birthday. That's how I knew I was mortal. The summer I was 16, I was driving into the valley of my hometown at sunset when Rikki Don't Lose that Number came on the radio. That's when I thought I would live forever.
This is such a treat for a fan. Sizzling like an isotope in the frozen crystal dawn. Thank you always Walt for the presents and for thinking of us 🙏 so we can be with ya through your interdimensional magic (but of course we always KNEW you could do this ! True freakin mastery of space and time to our happiness) and then super duper hugs and high fives to WBM for being the sweet, sweet conduit
Laid back, but engaging. Tragic, but triumphant. That's the song, no matter what form it's in. What makes this particular upload perfect is that dialogue we can only hear one side of. Walter, I wish you were still with us. But in a way, you still are. Thank you for the gifts, Steely Dan, solo, and your great production work!
2:30 "Fima's got it" - chromatic up to the "C" in the bass for the pre-chorus (or last two lines of the verse if you prefer) - what a harmony! (major 7 in the bass?) - and he's "got it" presumably referring to him keeping the verse form under the "surprise piano solo". Wonderful version of this song, thanks so much for the post!
Very swift catch. I can tell they were working out that solo section. That phrygian tonality created by that Dbmaj7/C is super effective for that crunch.

It's called love, spelt 'LUV'
Nothing to add to that, just wanted to agree and thank you for those kind words.
