    You might want to cover the two exposed copper ends where you cut your heat tape with electric tape first you just made a connection with the foil tape at the bottom and could be zapped if you touch it while its on

    • @CDExotics
      @CDExotics  3 роки тому

      To calculate the amount of heat tape needed you add the length of the shelf plus the height and times that by the number of shelves you have. I usually round up to the next foot just to be on the safe side

    I feel like a dummy. Was using heat tape and didn't put the thermal pads at the ends. Melted the things and kept electrocuting me. Also lost 3 of my snakes. Was using an Inkbird thermostat but it didn't matter. Thanks for this, for my snakes are like family.

    don't do you heat like like this people she is completely wrong. she has covered over 1 1/2 of it with the aluminum tape. heat dont go through aluminum and the piece on the ends blocks another 3 inches. it goes only on the edge and do the same to the sides. meaning the way she is doing it your snake has very little heat tape area to lay one. I just don't get how people don't understand this its common sense.
