I think I speak for a lot of us Windows users. We needed this because almost every review always shows Macbooks but for some of us I like having a dedicated graphics card but it is horrible trying to carry the bulk when you always see MacBooks and the small chargers.
@@dannypacks Can I get input or feedback which type of backpack that would help / fit this laptop ? The dimension of laptop : 357.7 x 277.7 x 18.9 mm (14.08 x 10.93 x 0.74 inches
I appreciate this video for sure. I have a BEEFY 16in Lenovo engineering laptop which struggles to fit in most bags. I wish there was more bags within 20-24L which worked so I am currently using Bellroy Transit Backpack 28L for my daily commute. Out of these bags you showed, I am most interested in Aer City Pack (maybe xpac version) and the Alpaka Elements Pro (love the green). PS I loved to hear you on Aaron's podcast! I hope you get invited back more!
Thank you for watching and for the support! The aer and Alpaka bags are solid alternatives and definitely hope to have a chance to go back on the podcast soon:)
I'm getting ready for college and am looking for a bag to fit a 17.3" laptop, a tablet, and hopefully a 32oz Nalgene bottle. I love my Nalgene water bottles, but I've been having a hard time finding bags that can fit them at all, especially with this behemoth of a laptop to haul around. Thank you for your video, It's given me a good place to start and your channel will be a big help to me.
Thanks for this vid. Definitely gives a starting point for those of us with larger laptops. One thing I will mention is that a lot of the larger 16inch laptops with dedicated graphics cards nowadays have taller 16:10 aspect ratio displays this makes them wider than the laptops of yesteryear. I personally have a north face borealis that I’ve had for about 10 years now that’s been to hell and back. It’s a great bag if all you carry around is an ultrabook that’s 15 inches max but fitting larger laptops is a pain. My current laptop will fit in the sleeve just barely and the corners push against the top side of the bag when closed which is a big no no. The surge seems like a good starting point. North face is a known quantity for me. I know their bags will stand the test of time. So I guess I’m off to my nearest north face retailer with laptop in tow. Gotta see if the sleeve is wide enough on the surge.
Thanks for this review! Did you happen to do one on tech briefcases for large laptops! I haven’t seen one of those reviews and I’ve been looking. Especially since I have a large laptop PLUS a portable monitor (hopefully adding another one soon).
Thanks Danny for your work. I used to have All-New Wandrd Prvke 21, but had to change it to Osprey Nebula 32 because my Thinkpad P15 workstation could not fit in Prvke's notebook compartment.
I appreciate your reviews, but if doing backpacks, please also show the back so we can see how the straps look and whether there is any not to comfort and heat as far as the construction that will actually be against your back.
I've struggled to find a not too large bag that will fit a 15.6-16 inch workstation class Windows laptop. One option that works for me is a Boundary Supply Prima which also have camera compartment (removable) and some additional storage space. Haven't tried but doubt a 17" would fit.
Hi Danny! can you please try the alpaka elements travel backpack and see if it fits your big acer laptop? I wanted that backpack but not too sure if it will fit my 16inch legion slim laptop.
You did all these tests with a 15.6" laptop? That's not a large laptop. That's a standard size. People who are looking for large laptop bags generally have 17.3" or 18" laptops. You really should state in the video that these bags are good for a 15.6" laptop, or do a follow-up with a 17.3" laptop and these same bags.
No Troubadour APEX Backpack 3.0? NY Times Wirecutter gave it top Laptop Backpack of 2024. I love the hidden side pouch that lets you remove your laptop without having to open the top zipper. It's great.
My Alienware m16 r1 was too big for the dedicated laptop sleeve but could still fit in the laptop compartment. Because of that decides to return and going with CTB26.
When did backpack makers start assuming everyone carries tech? Need some bags of 15l or so for those that don't need a laptop.. For those that take a bag to escape tech, not haul it with us.. 🤣 🤪
@@dannypacks they're actually a little rarer than I thought when i commented. From cheap Decathlon, to mid range Ospreys and all the way to high end Rucking bags all have Laptop Compartments or Sleeves now.

Thank you for watching and glad to be able to provide some options for windows laptops!

might betoo late but maybe consider a duffle bag

Thank you for watching and for the support! Glad to hear the nebula was able to handle the new device, that’s another solid option

Thank you for watching and for the suggestion! Will try to incorporate that more clearly in other similar videos :)

Thank you for watching and good call out on the prima, glad to what it’s worked well for a 16 inch laptop
I use a 17' LG Gram because I hate trying to read construction drawings on a mini screen.
Trying to find a backpack that will fit the behemoth that is the framework 16 with gpu installed. Its much more like a 17" in size haha.
Hi Danny! can you please try the alpaka elements travel backpack and see if it fits your big acer laptop? I wanted that backpack but not too sure if it will fit my 16inch legion slim laptop.
Thank you for watching! Unfortunately the acer laptop did not fit super well into the elements backpack
18 inch gaming laptops. I'm looking for a rolling backpack it.

Hi can you share the laptop model please. So that we can search for its dimension for reference. Thanks
Yes, this is super important! Not all 16" laptops are the same dimensions.
Thank you for watching and good question! I just added the model and dimensions to the description (ES1-511)

Thank you for watching and good call out! I haven’t had a chance to try out the apex 3.0 but had good experiences with other troubadour bags

I’m not even gonna lie, the raven 28 is an awesome looking backpack, but not for $120😶
I am looking for a linus tech tips equivalent bad. Something better quality with close to its versatility and at a much more reasonable price.
Thank you for watching! Definitely some solid options to consider like the north face surge, Timbuk2 authority deluxe, tomtoc t73
❤
Thank you for watching!:)

For those that take a bag to escape tech, not haul it with us.. 🤣 🤪
Should be plenty of those and you don't need to take tech just because the bag can hold it
Check out hiking day packs, many of those don't have laptop oriented features.
vista skip backpack from deuter is 14 l and my favourite backpack when I don't need to take my laptop with me
Thank you for watching! I’ll have to find some good options without a laptop compartment for a future roundup video
