Very true on urine. Collecting urine is an interesting process. I collect my own, that 1st urine of the day has a high content of settlement which is what most baitmakers use it and sell of the other urine collected.
I still feel like Russ makes some of the best lures out there. Some of his pro grade stuff is the best ive used. He was always so particular about the quality of his ingredients. Like your channel, goodluck to ya
Yeah. Late to the game. I'd agree with the sentiment that some products are not top shelf consistently. I've been trying to make my own stuff, and valid information isn't shared very much. I feel like that if I were to sign an affidavit or non disclosure agreement or whatever that I wouldn't get any more information than I do now. I don't want to go into the bait and lure business, or sell trapping equipment, I trap to cut down on the predators and nest robbers that keep the numbers of edible game knocked down. I am learning by small steps, and I freely share what I find with others I know. Thanks for the video
I could talk all day about this stuff I got sick of paying the high dollar prices for bait and lure started making my own it's fun I feel like I have made a couple that perform better than anything I've ever bought. My favorite meet for a bait vase is porcupine it has a good smell literally like a cross between a beaver and a muskrat
Hi Colten, been following your channel on you tube. Love the content and advice. Quick question on your Apple road bait. Do you use the horse meat or bobcat meat bait.
Hey Colten I’ve watched all your videos and intrigued with your method of bait most of the time without lure. Never thought about lure is sometimes contained in commercial bait. Do you ever use your homemade bait from deer along with commercial bait in the hole at the same time
Hey Colten, thanks for answering my question on Apple road bait this morning. I’m intrigued about your method of using bait and urine in the hole without lure. Never thought about bait containing some lure in it. Do you ever use your homemade bait I watched you make in the hole along with your commercial bait or just one or the other
Apologies for the delay. Yes I will use my own bait or a natural bait in the hole with or without commercial bait. Everything goes to the bottom of the hole. Or at least that’s what I try to do
Been wondering if there is one bigger bait making outfit that is making it for different outfits and they are just putting there labels on the jars. Any thoughts on that?
I use alot of different bait and lure certain ones just produce better, I backtracked a female coyote last winter that went by 4 sets before she got caught in #5 was it the bait and lure or something else who the hell knows. There a fascinating animal
I know you are reluctant to mention the companies that you don't think make good products but some people don't know who is good and who isn't. How can we learn unless someone has recommendations
used carman lure for years since the label changed to white and after a couple years of sterling distributing for him it's been not so good for me .. not sure what they are doing to it do you still use him today

It’s a shame he is no longer making anything. At least to my knowledge he isn’t. Sold his lures to sterling fur and it just isn’t the same anymore.
Great info thanks so much been watching your videos over n over dont stop
Thank you. I’ll keep after it

Hi Colten, been following your channel on you tube. Love the content and advice. Quick question on your Apple road bait. Do you use the horse meat or bobcat meat bait.
I have both. I like both, and have several friends who like both. Cannot go wrong either way
Thanks for the response Colton on the Apple Road bait. I’ll definitely give it a try.

When you refer to natural bloody bait, are you referring to a liver base bait?

I’m not certain on that idea, but I know of several ppl who grind up meat for distributors and send it to them.

Keg creek, apple road, and houbens all make great bait. There are others but those are the 3 I use

Maybe not the same quality ingredients, but I hate to speculate. Use to love using Carmen’s products
