Engjahver - The Icelandic Hot Spring That Can Look Like Liquid Nitrogen Pool
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 кві 2024
- Engjahver hot spring celebrates its 100th anniversary on September 4, 2024 but it formed after a magnitude 5.1 earthquakes and started as a turbulent and even explosive muddy hot spring which spewed mud from large bubbles in all directions for many years and became a certain entertainment for the local farmers.. Then it developed into a more "standard" hot spring but it still has the tendency to undergo changes. Like It sent a large volume of white fluid into Lake Kleifarvatn in 2018 and during this visit, the pool looked a lot like Liquid Nitrogen.
Engjahver can easily be categorised as a "hidden attractions" since it's not by the Krísuvik main road and the hiking route is not promoted as it deserves. It's best to park by Lake Grænavatn (Green Lake) which is actually an explosion crater from where it's only 1,6 km walk. The pool has actually 3 names and the are: Austurengjahver, Engjahver, and Stórihver. Engjahver is however the main name, the others are used to confuse tourists, and it works.
Krýsuvík area is a very active volcanic area that some experts say has woken up after 800 years of dormancy. I recommend a visit to this youngest part of Iceland and check out my video where I do a 360 drone turn around the hot spring. • Full Drone Circle Abov...

Thank you for visiting the Just Icelandic Channel.
Greetings from Iceland. Gylfi
I'm having a bad day at work, by myself far from home and I just watched this on my lunch break. I feel a little better now
Hope you have a good rest of the day with powerful greetings from Iceland :)
Good luck. Hope you manage to get over the blues and have a better day tomorrow 🍀🍀🍀🍀
I find the music especially relaxing. The rising steam pushes it a little higher.
Take care. Hope you have a better day tomorrow.
Wishing you a better tomorrow 😊
I am about to head to the hospital for major surgery.
Your videos, music, and voice are meditation to me. Thank you, Gylfi.

Boy, that steam looks soft as silk !
You always do a fine job with your drones and music. Thanks Gilfy.
I try :)
Such a beautiful scene thank you for sharing
Thanks for visiting
there is a peaceful, sweet beauty in resting power.
I live in England and love its woods and green fields, but your videos have shown me a different beauty. This is wonderful, thank you.
Thank you very much!
Are you ever just struck by the majesty of it all???
🤗 oh yes :)
Incredibly beautiful and soothing to watch. ❤️
Stunning video! The sharp shadows of the rocks around the spring look as if it was filmed on another planet without atmosphere.
It's out of this world fun to film this :)
Ah Gylfi, your love of Iceland is captured in the videos you make and show to the world. The very best of wishes to you from Devon, uk.
Thanks and greetings to Devon :)
Very awesome ❤
Thanks 🤗
I've been hiking there last February on the first sunny day after several days in a row of bad weather.
I got there by chance while wandering in the Kleifarvatn area and decided to follow a worn wooden sign without really knowing where I was getting to.
Walking alone in the snow on a cold but bright sunny day and getting to the hot springs was really magic and filling my soul.
Thanks for letting me relive that magic moment with your amazing video
When we visited the nearby Seltún geothermal area back in 2022, I noticed steam coming out of the top of a nearby hill. It turns out the steam was from this exact spring. I am grateful to be able to see what that location looks like now. Thank you, once again, for another great video!
Yes it's the one :) and thanks for visiting :)
Beautiful scenes of a stunning and mesmerising landscape. Thank you for taking your time to share your footage with the World. Greetings from North Wales UK!
Many thanks!
I never knew that there was such a place on Earth!!! I thought that was just on other planets. Thanks!!!
Amazing! No wonder so many people go there each year 🥰🤗
Very hypnotic, peaceful too. ♥

Yay, thank you!
O.O I never tire of images like these. Thank you so much for your devotion to your channel.
My pleasure 😊
Thank you so much! Pity we didn't know about it when we visited these parts last year. We stopped by Kleifarvatn, Seltun Area and Green Lake, so close... I think I may spotted steam coming from this spring from the ridge above Seltun Area. Now I could see it "closely" thanks to your video. It was a great pleasure.
Stunning!!!
Welcome :)
Thanks for all these insights into fascinating places to visit. Adding to my list for my next visit to Iceland (hopefully soon!).
Welcome to Iceland :)

Thank you! You too!
Love this, I managed to fly my drone there in your beautiful country this January. Luckily between erruptions and far away from them, in Borgarnes ❤❤❤
Borgarnes is a fine place, have a video in the making covering the area, hope to find time to finish it soon :)
@JustIcelandic aww I cannot wait to see your video about Borgarnes! Thank you for letting me know. I am very curious, if you had the time some time to check mine, what you would think of it. It is not very long at all. :)
Probably one of the first times in ages that I found a new place that I have not yet listed on my bucket list - This will be perfect for my third trip to Iceland in late summer this year (supposing that Krýsuvík stays asleep until then...)
Yes I think so :) and you have to drive trough the nearby Móhálsadalur, it's out of this world :) but it's not a good road there though...
@@JustIcelandic That was also part of the plan - I didn't drive that road yet. Will definitely do that If it reopens in the summer as it basically only leads toward Grindavík...
And "good road" is relative - I mean it has no river crossings, so probably easier than some others :)
👍🙏>>>💚~~~ THANK YOU BEAUTIFUL
Welcome!!🤗
Amazing
Thanks
Thank you again for this relaxing moment 😊
My pleasure 😊
Virkelig vakkert, tusen takk❤

could be so Beautiful
This was a total surprise :) a nice one
WOW! Is that ever so beautiful! Incredible photography, magnificent countryside, and such soothing and relaxingly serene music! But I'd also guess this isn't a hot spring where young couples go for some "romantic skinny-dipping" when others aren't around ...... 🙂
Beautiful. 🍀🍀🍀
Thank you! Cheers!
So beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
Nice cloudmaker! :-)

The Earth is breathing
Yes and it's lungs are very close to us :)

❤
Can you swim in it?
No way :)
How hot is hot ?
Cant say, I guess around 80c but it changes quite often judging from the steam, sometime hardly any, but other days we see large steam cloud rising from it
