One of the first songs I ever learned in guitar was master of puppets so I got used to down picking very early lol
The initial riff is actually supposed to be played completely down-picked. It's actually easier than alternate picking, but to each their own I guess.
isnowyazn Yeah I often downpick when I play the main riff. I find it kinda easier and more energetic. Ironically, my fretting hand gets tired more easily than my picking hand lmao.
I do alternate picking, but you prolly dont care because this is 5 years old
Personally it's more fun to down pick the riff and to me it gives a better tone and it's easier, ashes of the innocent is also a really fun fast pace song with pretty fast down picking
I'd defo say alternate is easier but you do downpick it

As someone whos had depression for their whole life, id reccomend some things
- healthy diet
- exercise
- try cut back on drugs or alcohol if applicable
- make some friends if you can, human connection is essential for our brains to produce chemicles an hormones that make us feel normal/good
If you can crack all that then your off to a good start an shouldnt need any medications from any doctors, who evera reading, you have the infomation you need, now fight ❤❤💪

If you can plug it into an amp, it's an electric guitar. Rhythm is just the style you play on an electric guitar. There's rhythm and then there's lead. Rhtyhm will be more of the beat of the song or the parts that fill in everything, while lead is a melody or solo.

really the only tip i can give is to not be afraid to try things you cant do...you might say "i can never play that" but youd surprise yourself....just love it and practice it ma lady...the intro even annoys me to play...its just an obnoxious riff lol

well the schecter is a lot better but is more than triple the price lol...both play pretty close to the same but the strings are further apart on the ibanez
whatever suits you best but your using a lot of redundant movement. your gonna waste a lot of energy just playing that verse riff through 90% of the song

Thats awesome :D. My guitar teacher has the hellraiser 7 (: its sick. But it sucks coz ive wanted the ibanez xiphos xpt700xh for ages.. but it has diMarzio pickups.. I just love the shape and inlays.. And its 1100.
So then i thought if i get the xp300fx and buy emg pickups aswell, it might suit me better.. Just i have no idea when it comes to which ones.. like if i got the zakk wylde ones it would cost me $1068 for the emgs and the guitar.. Which is fine, just -.- gr..

I struggle with the first (main) riff..When I alternate pick, my pick gets "stuck" on the string and I can't seem to play the song fluently. With alternate picking in songs like, The Beast and the Harlot I have no issues however! I'm using thick picks, is that wrong for alternate picking?

I onlyhave a shitty washburn atm so yeah, i want a decent upgrade. But its hard coz i find one i like but they either havnt got the pickups i want or they havent got any inlays or they are problematic on reviews ive read -.-

At the pull off part at 3:13, I don't pick to play that part? I only use my fingers on the neck to do the entire pull off part but idk if that's how you actually do that

Bullet downpick it, it gives it a much more tight solid feel, a lot of people can't play as tight alternate picking as they can downpicking, also vice-versa

you can't play this in E standard. Get thicker strings and down tune it.

hmmm well my schecter is around $1000 but i bought it used for $700...im sure you can get it cheap bc its gotten old since then lol....my ibanez is only a starter guitar with awesome pickups...the pickups are worth the old price of the guitar lol $400 total

BFMV is my fav band man. This song isn't hard, I think it's just that it's a bit repetitive that's all hehe. At first it takes some getting used to when you are just learning alternate picking.

Well people have been making a big deal about whether to alternate pick or down pick it all lol...I guess whichever way you're more comfortable with just do it that way lol....personally I alternate to save energy lol

well a guitars sound is mainly in the pickups but the guitar itself makes the comfort you like...if your looking for an amp with different distortion choices and a lot of handy effects i suggest getting a line 6...preferably the spider III
