    I ride in the NW of England where it rains a lot! Never experienced this. However when I wash the bike the wheels hold some water, this is easily drained by spinning the wheels on their side. Love these wheels... Fast and bombproof, would recommend👍

    Viewers, save some of your day by fast-forwarding thru the first 6 minutes of this video. This guy put road rims on an enduro application,then drove them through water and is now amazed that the rims have water in them.

      You call this track an "enduro application"...? www.alastarocircuit.fi/

    I have the Mavic Cosmic Carbon Pro which is the update of these and I wash my bike and wheels all the time. I usually have some water after washing them, but it usually comes out and never to this degree. Never had this much of problem, and have ridden in the rain too. BTW you really should clamp a carbon bike on the top tube when on a work stand. It's preferable to clamp the seatpost.

      Hi Andy. Thanks for a comment. These wheels has been sold and I have driven ever since with Zipp 303. Seatpost/top tube advice taken :)

      new to working on my own bike on a repair stand... but why is it preferred to clamp using the seat post instead of top tube? Will the top tube crack?

    • @MrSailordie
      @MrSailordie  8 років тому

      Repair stand is used on garage to stowage my MTB from seat post (front tyre on ground), because it is with sloping toptube. Clamp from top tube..I´m just lazy to turn clamp...

      @andysocial3520 8 років тому +3

      For carbon bikes it's not preferable. There is the potential for the top tube to crack as the carbon layup there is not as dense as say the bottom bracket or other areas of a carbon bike. If you crack a seatpost it is easier/more affordable to replace than a frame.

    I had the same pair of wheels. I've learned the hard way that they fail. In summary while riding in New Jersey my back rear spoke popped off and I went tumbling. The back wheel is trash now after I spent over one thousand dollars on my wheels set. From then on its been Zipp wheels for me.

    That's why they say that it is not safe to ride in the rain.

      In this case it's not unsafe. It is just slightly slower.

    You can tell by the sound of this dude voice, that whatever he sends back, they fix!...They probably sent him an extra set of wheels for free. Lol.

    Take the tires off and drain the water.

  • @colinfenn247
    @colinfenn247 7 років тому

    Laying the bike down on its side will surely drain the water through the holes in the wheels ??

    Lay them out in the hot summer sunny day and hopefully water will evaporate? Or just put them on your stove top and it will evaporate too. Either way the water will evaporate...

      ChillyWillyGoCycling Nope...just cycling on dry roads :) I think water get there from poorly assembled rimtape (valve hole is not in right place). Try fix it with tape and if it doesn´t help I gonna use sealant mass.
