This is the first UA-cam, or any video, that truly got me out of a pinch and saved my ass. A heartfelt, and genuine thank you to you my good man. I'm truly grateful for my new knowledge. I'm back up and running, snappin necks, and cashin checks thanks to you. 🤙
Thank you so much for this video.... My Stihl 181 chainsaw cord broke the third tune I used it. Your video showed me how to replace the cord correctly on my first attempt. Much appreciated!
This was a great rewind the spring on a still chainsaw.I was able to rewind the spring first try, no blow ups or surprises.Thank You Very Much!!!!!!!!!
This video make my life a lot easier in recoiling the chainsaw starter spring. The explanation very simple and straight forward to understand and warning of any caution needed. Thank you very much.
this would have been very helpful if I had found this a week ago. eventually I did figure it out and yes, winding it inside the housing definitely is the best(and only) way to go
l have a Giantz 75cc 22'' chainsaw. This chainsaw has 2 springs, one ( assuming) sucks the rope in which is 6mm, other is 12mm starts the engine. After l changed the snapped spring (12mm) Everything was ok till l tried starting it. There was only one revolution which wasnt enough to start it. l fooled around with for a while but, l coudnt work it out. Where did l go wrong? Thank you for sharing such a helpful video :)
NOTE: This video doesn't actually show you how to successfully re-coil and reinstall the rewind spring. There's a cut in the footage and suddenly the return spring appears in place. For all we know they just used a pro-coiled Stihl OEM part, which comes on a discardable plastic fan that allows you to quickly place the spring into the housing. I literally could've (and should've [so I'm the idiot]) driven to my Stihl dealer, bought an OEM spring, driven home, and installed it in the time I wasted trying the video's approach. At least I didn't damage the anchor point in the fan housing, which is just plastic!

Very clear instructions. Best vid yet!
great video just got me out of a fix with the spring issue cheers
That is good information to remember when I have to work on my saws. Thanks so much for the tip, and I will remember it for later usage.
I'd like to see someone do that on a Stihl FS38 string trimmer.. and also if it can be done when it has a backbend in it from springing out.
Does all equipment have the spring and rope fitted the same way that you did, does any rewinds go anti clockwise for any reasons.?🤔

craftsman's system is different than this and I suspect on purpose to sell replacement parts..
Arrrr the recoil spring 😡😩
BS it’s not that easy to recoil the spring.
He actually made it look hard lol
It is super easy. You just need some patience
