LOL isn't Shiva the Hindu idol of destruction? You might want to read the Book of Exodus about what YHWH (Yahweh) did to people who worshipped idols (each of the plagues against Pharoah in Egypt was to show the Egyptian idolators that their "gods" did not exist but were fictitious scams by their priest caste and thus these priests and their fake gods were powerless against the punishment of the ONE true god). In Exodus chapter 32 Exodus 32 the Israelites were enduring hardships and in Moses absence they felt the need to seek the favours of a diety. Instead of trusting in YHWH they formed a calf made of God and claimed it was a god. Yes, playing Gaza off against the West Bank was a mistake as is allowing the more extreme 'Greater Israel' supporters more influence than they proportionately deserve. But what has stuck with me more is what the SecGen of the Arab League said the day after the Hamas attack when he said that 'the problem is that Israel has not allowed the Palestinians a glimpse of a better future'. It strikes me that this needs to be achieved for a lasting peace.
It is a failing of Christianity is that they believe that being a Christian somehow means life will be all roses. The New Testament teaches the opposite In the world you shall have tribulation. I am The vine, you are the branches, any branch that does not bear fruit is cut off. I chastise those I love. For all those Christians , non Christians and Jews trying to understand the enigma of the presence of evil in a world God created and declared it to be good, there is scriptually nowhere that elaborate what "good" is. We merely assume it is morally good. Is an amoral apple good? Is a beautiful sunset good? And then of course there is God's warning to Adam in the Garden of Eden, and the subsequent transfer of power away from God and onto Evil when Adam sinned death entered the world as it's unrelenting Master.
I said before, canada has modern day death camps, plenty of people if they have a terrible life , poor, I'll, pressurised by gov. From housing , welfare - lots of people already looking for a clinic
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?” THE DEBATE ALWAYS WINDS UP SOMETHING LIKE THIS
Absolutely correct. There is no good answer because religion is bullshit. Believers end up reverting to 'mysterious ways' or 'Allah's will be done.' And I get it, if you truly believe in something that humans cannot fathom then I guess that makes sense in a twisted kind of way. But there is zero evidence for it, and lots of reasons why a god does not exist, or if he does, we're better off without him.
I think He is not omnipotent. I don't think scripture says He is. He is God because He is waaay more powerful than we are, but it does not mean he can do everything.
the second part, i have long taken to mean that abstract conversations are one thing, and concrete actions another. what i mean is, having theological conversations is fine, but not to be taken so seriously that they stop us from doing G-d's Will, because we are limited beings with limited understanding and so we cannot presume to truly know G-d's Ways, but G-d does know what is best for us and thus it would be prudent of us to keep following Him regardless of how much we understand His ways. btw, if that is what the Rabbi above already said, my apologies. sometimes i find it useful to rephrase things in ways that i understand
The world is worshipping the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob because of one. I am a non Jewish fellow worshipper. I remember Job's suffering and answer to it.
Point is. G-d being G-d: we cannot understand His ways. Humans being human: when it hurts we cry out. But we pick ourselves up, and make Shabbos. Our soul is aware of eternity.
We all on an individual level experience things in life where we turn to God, grab him by his jacket, and scram in his face "WTF?!!!" It took me from like age 18 to 50 before I got my answer, had many wounds healed and was elevated by God enough so I had an eye-opening overview of my past, present, and very likely future. I let then go of God's jacket, flattened out the wrinkles my sweaty hands had caused, coughed and mumbled "Uh... thanks, I guess... No hard feelings." Got me a raised eyebrow while smiling at me. "Told ya. Everything will be fine in the end. Now off you go, lil rascal of mine..." May I ask the Jewish community: Do you think, without the Holocaust and without the whole Western World standing at your side, in your guilt, for your unspeakeable sacrifice - do you think you would have been given the state of Israel during the last 80 years? Do not mourn over what you have lost. Think about what you have been and will be given. Am Ysrael Chai 🇮🇱
@@Theworldisupsidedown-ou8vh I suffered for so long from a phase in my life, some events that were catastrophic in the outcome. During all the time I had prayed so hard to help me prevent certain developments, and instead I felt shoven, pushed over the edge. That included even trying to move to a different city only to find my car breaking down days later from failure of the big end bearings. My mechanic said these never ever fail after 10k kilometers or 6.5k miles 😮 So I reconed there were higher powers keeping my ass right on my "frontline". I didn't have the money for having the motor fixed (crankshaft had suffered from the bad bearings). So, my life broke down. I wouldn't know what hurt more - the events themselves or feeling abandoned by God... So fast forward to 20 years later, after attending a church service close to Christmas, I suddenly felt something shift inside my usual worn out train of thoughts. "What if everything had to happen exactly as it did, nothing more, nothing less?" It helped me do babysteps toward counting my blessings during the times that had passed. Instead of holding on to my anger and grudge and hurt, I suddenly found myself able of asking" What if this path was *the path that protected me from much greater damage and despair in the long run?“ I started to shift my focus, to evaluate things differently. And suddenly my hatred was gone. I could see that God had answered my prayers, only in a very different way than expected. It was just like in that song by Garth Brooks, "Unanswered prayers", where it dawns on him after years that some very desireable wishes are not at all as good for you as they might seem. Just listen to that song or read the lyrics. I don't want to spoil it for you. But in essence, I had that same sudden moment of understanding. It was a very hard lesson for me. But I was able to let go of my grudge against God and trust him again. A lot hof gentle healing comes from that change of focus. I hope you can work with that. All the best to you, be safe.
The law can compel action. But it cannot compel love of either God or neighbor. If genuine love is God's intention for his creation, I'm afraid we'll have to come to the end of ourselves first. It won't be pretty.
You are correct to point out that our analysis of god's behaviour has no bearing on whether or not he exists. However, what you miss is the following question: is this, therefore, someone I wish to worship or devote my life to? Even if he exists, why on earth would I want anything to do with such a thuggish monster? I think this is a better question than the first.
The two scholars have two things in common: 1. They believe that everything they achieved (both in education and in their carriers) has nothing to do with material/political/social position of their predecessors. That makes them repeat the narrative how the western society offers equal opportunities to all races and social groups. Therefore, they believe that a child of a rich white businessman has the same opportunities as a child of an incarcerated father of color. 2. They both believe that their current political system is close to ideal and everything else is simply wrong and therefore to be exterminated, therefore approving everything that the colonial powers took from economically/industrially underdeveloped countries (both today and in the past). Everything else that they say, that you might find ok, is limited by these two rules of engagement/behavior .
At 9:07: "G-d and the justice of G-d are two completely different subjects that UNFORTUNATELY are intertwined with each other"... did you mean to say that?

I have never been able to make any sense of the argument that one shouldn't or can't believe in the God of the Bible because it seems He did some things which to us seem morally reprehensible.
8:47 "just because you don't like the way that God does things sometimes or the way that things play out in the world doesn't affect whether God is true or not true; whether there is a God or not." 1) You're looking at the issue from a theist standpoint. If I am a non-believer and I am considering the possibility of becoming a believer, how can I objectively believe in an all-powerful, all-knowing and all-loving God that allows evil to exist, i.e., "the problem with evil"? IOW, it's not a matter of "like". 2) The rabbi's deciding to conduct evening prayers after condemning God says volumes about their cognitive dissonance and less about whether they have determined His existence.
Sorry I’m confused and was wondering if someone could help my low IQ grasp on the oven human quotes. I’m not educated on the oven bodies or can find anything on it ?

I don't know how you interpret that or what you want to say with it, that "the reversal of putting people in owens made them more sick". Why is that vagueness accepted but at the same time slightest doubt is criminalised? What do you want to achieve with this.
Rabbi theology finishes with the Old Testament, but if they had factored into the equation of their mock trial the prophetic message appearing in the New Testament at least three times, by Paul, John and Jesus Christ Himself, that until He, Christ, returned, the 'Prince of this world would be Satan'. John 14: 30 and 2 Corinthians 4: 3 - 6 among others. These passages warn humanity that worldliness is a force, a spirit, that is in opposition to all that is Godly and Christian. The pursuit of material success and a sense of superiority of self is its very aim. God is inevitably neglected and overlooked in favour of Satan.
@@naturin0 I think you miss his point. It isn't his will to love his family, and similarly, the male members of his family cannot will to love or not love him. Women make that choice, though. For some reason, women were not commanded to love.
lmao it's hilarious to think simple entities like us that are still figuring out our own patterns of behavior and the reasons why etc have the gall to criticize God on the things He made with His ginormous wisdom. As it says, lean not on your own understanding - "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts" (Isaiah 55:8-9).
People kiĺing people because they dont want to live with them is pure evil, be kind to others even to those you dont like or those that dont like you! We're all humans and equal
thats the problem ---- thats why last holy book came out ---- as most humans think they are equal right? well no that isnt true -- a Jew truly believes he is above more divine than non Jw--- thats the problem -- they have no shame in using our hearts and minds for their benefit -- bt at end of day wont even remember non jewsish people who helped them did --
@LolaSmith-ow6ie I know that's how they think, my comment was to say that we all can see who is doing pure evil, they are doing that what they have been gaslighting the entire world with, and those two so called intellectuals know it very well but for some reason keep naming them as the victims
This is an example of the banality of religious excuse-making. It takes a really stunted imagination to put a non-existent god on trial. There has to be a limit to wishy-washy diversionary justifications for human evolution.
Isaiah 53:10, "Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand." So God is "guilty" at a level. Or, maybe more illustrative is Acts 4:27-28, "for truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever your hand and your plan had predestined to take place." God, who, admittedly predestined (before the foundation of the world) whatever was to happen to Jesus, does not get Herod, Pontius Pilate, the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel off the hook for their responsibility.
What some people don't realize is that Genesis 1-3 is written as it is to answer the question, "How is it that the good God you're positing gave humanity such a terrible world to live in?" Unfortunately, Genesis 1-3, out of the ignorance of its authors, answers by positing that God *didn't* give humanity a terrible world at first but rather a garden paradise, which humanity had to give up after sinning against God -- i.e., "It's not God's fault the world humanity lives in is awful -- it's ours!" But then the theory (not hypothesis -- *theory,* as in "nobody's found anything yet from fossils to DNA that can disprove it") of evolution came along and showed death and suffering were not only in the world before humanity ever hit the scene but were both part and parcel of how humanity came to exist, thus putting the lie to Genesis 1-3.
The title and petty commentary is ludicrous and adds absolutely nothing. Jordan Peterson is basically giving a very polite counselling session to Douglas Murray. He allows Murray to babble his usual directionless, gay related nonsense about nothing in particular before trying to put his confused brain back on the right path. Murray can't stay with him either intellectually or emotionally and then disappears again down a one way track to nowhere interesting. Poor Douglas seems to be a lost soul these days spouting off all sorts of ridiculous pro Zionist and pro genocide rhetoric after his New York boyfriend dropped him. Hopefully, Jordan gave Douglas yet another pillow for him to gently nibble on when he next thanks his current paymasters...

You might want to read what God did to those who claimed that cows are sacred and worshipped any other than Him ua-cam.com/video/VQRjp_62uj0/v-deo.html

The New Testament teaches the opposite
In the world you shall have tribulation.
Few if any Christians I know think they will be spared suffering.

God already prevailed evil through Jesus Christ.
@@geoffreyk6229 NO ONE HAS A CLUE AS TO WHAT THAT MEANS -- NOT REALLY INTERESTED EITHER

That sort of thinking gave us the Holocaust. The Christian Germans were told not to question it as they were doing God's will.
actually the Germans were told that they were doing shitler's Will. or do you see no difference between shitler and G-d?
The world is worshipping the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob because of one. I am a non Jewish fellow worshipper. I remember Job's suffering and answer to it.

This is an interesting approach to the problem of evil.
We all on an individual level experience things in life where we turn to God, grab him by his jacket, and scram in his face "WTF?!!!"
It took me from like age 18 to 50 before I got my answer, had many wounds healed and was elevated by God enough so I had an eye-opening overview of my past, present, and very likely future.
I let then go of God's jacket, flattened out the wrinkles my sweaty hands had caused, coughed and mumbled "Uh... thanks, I guess... No hard feelings."
Got me a raised eyebrow while smiling at me. "Told ya. Everything will be fine in the end. Now off you go, lil rascal of mine..."
May I ask the Jewish community: Do you think, without the Holocaust and without the whole Western World standing at your side, in your guilt, for your unspeakeable sacrifice - do you think you would have been given the state of Israel during the last 80 years?

"What if everything had to happen exactly as it did, nothing more, nothing less?"
It helped me do babysteps toward counting my blessings during the times that had passed. Instead of holding on to my anger and grudge and hurt, I suddenly found myself able of asking" What if this path was *the path that protected me from much greater damage and despair in the long run?“
I started to shift my focus, to evaluate things differently.
How do you get a degree in Psychology like that and not know arithmetic?
Why don’t they find Satan guilty?
You are correct to point out that our analysis of god's behaviour has no bearing on whether or not he exists. However, what you miss is the following question: is this, therefore, someone I wish to worship or devote my life to? Even if he exists, why on earth would I want anything to do with such a thuggish monster? I think this is a better question than the first.
The two scholars have two things in common:
It’s pretty simple. Don’t worship psychopaths.
At 9:07: "G-d and the justice of G-d are two completely different subjects that UNFORTUNATELY are intertwined with each other"... did you mean to say that?
Wasn't the holocaust about economics and power? Doesn't Canada's MAID deep down have the same objectives dressed up as mercy?

I have never been able to make any sense of the argument that one shouldn't or can't believe in the God of the Bible because it seems He did some things which to us seem morally reprehensible.
8:47 "just because you don't like the way that God does things sometimes or the way that things play out in the world doesn't affect whether God is true or not true; whether there is a God or not."
1) You're looking at the issue from a theist standpoint.

The literary technique of going in reverse chronological order is done frequently in project management, engineering, and scientific analysis.

This is an example of the banality of religious excuse-making. It takes a really stunted imagination to put a non-existent god on trial. There has to be a limit to wishy-washy diversionary justifications for human evolution.
You have just accused the great writer Elie Weisel ('who was in Auschwitz) of having a stunted imagination.
Isaiah 53:10, "Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand."
So God is "guilty" at a level. Or, maybe more illustrative is Acts 4:27-28, "for truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever your hand and your plan had predestined to take place."
God, who, admittedly predestined (before the foundation of the world) whatever was to happen to Jesus, does not get Herod, Pontius Pilate, the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel off the hook for their responsibility.
