- Took a ride along the beach one morning seeing if anything was biting. Been a slow start here but one thing we do have is a strong run of Bonito. Also did something stupid and fell off my bike which put a treble through my leg, which luckily turned out to be an easy extraction.

Yeah Chris I'm fishing the ac/brigantine inlet, caught a couple hundred shorts this year and 8 keepers 2 @ 23". They are currently all over the mullet during the mullet run.and still some peanut bunker even ocasional small snappies on the peanuts. Still waiting hoping the blues will come in the inlet as the water cools. We've had some strong north winds hoping it doesn't screw up these blues this year.

Very slow start to the fall run here in southwestern CT too Sea Money. This dry, sunny, warm daytime weather has caused local water temperatures to stay in the 74-77 range, even though we've been having numerous overnight lows in the lower 50s. The warm water has caused big blues to not show up yet and smaller cocktail blues to not be as aggressive as they should be. The hits-per-cast ratio has been pretty low too. We're due for a traditional early fall rain and wind event, which would be the ticket to getting the water temps to drop to 70 and get things turned on.

I was standing on the very end of Sandy Hook yesterday and a fluke that approached keeper size (18" in NJ) launched itself up through a school of rain bait and got 100% airborn 10' in front of me.

Bro, 2 or 3 Septembers ago I was out solo after work catching bass topwater and had a short feisty bass do a little dance on me when I was trying to release it. Long story short, I had the rear trebles of a Smack It Jr go through the mid-knuckle flesh on one of my fingers while the front trebles were still stuck in the fuckin fishes mouth! Scary scary shit being at the mercy of the fish bro. Prob the closest I ever came to blacking smooth out from panic and pain. Ended up having to saddle the fish on the bow of the boat in order to perform an impromptu self-surgery while adrift, approaching sundown.

Striped bass is over loaded with red meat , I unfortunately have frozen Stripped bass with other fish and it totally ruined the taste of the other fish , it's way too strong .
