- November 19, 1993 - Following a tumultuous 1992-93 season that saw him miss 20 games for reasons basketball-related and not, it became relatively clear that Dennis Rodman's days in Detroit were numbered. And on October 1, 1993, his departure became a reality. In a blockbuster deal just prior to the start of the 1993-94 preseason, Rodman, alongside Isaiah Morris and a 1994 second round pick (Antonio Lang), was traded to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for all-star Sean Elliott, David Wood, and a 1996 first round pick (Jerome Williams).
Rodman was averaging over 20 rebounds per game when he made his first return to Detroit in mid-November. Sitting down with longtime Pistons play-by-play voice George Blaha, Rodman discussed the logistics and emotions revolving around his inaugural trip to Michigan as a member of the opposition.
Later that evening, Rodman grabbed 14 rebounds and was ejected in the midst of a 95-86 loss.
