That’s exactly what I started doing about 3 months ago to my hair. For a long time I would trim my hair trying to get the hair to be the same length all over and end up cutting off too much. And for me I also noticed the less I trim off the better. And now my hair is growing much better and I’m able to retain length. This is a really informative video for EVERY NATURAL to watch. Thanks for sharing!!
I do the same essentially. I get my hair professionally trimmed every 4 months but at the 2 month mark, i do the exact same process you do. My shape doesn’t change because Im taking off like 1/4 inch per section….very uniform. When I go to my stylist, she does the same. Glad you posted this because so many naturals are of the misconception that trimming slows your growth. Healthy length retention is key! Thanks for sharing!❤️
I usually trim either once or twice per year. I take such good care of my hair where I retain length so solidly that I do not feel a need to trim unnecessarily. This technique worked perfectly for “dusting” my ends. Previously I have really butchered my hair; the last time cutting off too much and with one side being obviously much longer. But this was easy and stress-free. Thanks so much for sharing!👍🏾
love the video! needed to see this definitely will try trimming every 2 months to see the difference and health of my ends cause i dont like cutting alot every 3-4 months especially in trying to grow my hair out . loved the blowout video too because i dont want any heat damage from blow drying for a trim
Since my hair grows at the average rate of 6 inches per year, I trim every 6 months. I don't stretch my hair since I prefer seeing it in its natural state as that's also how I wear it and I want to make sure the shape isn't negatively affected. I also trim whilst deep conditioning after at least an hour with the product still in my hair so it's very soft and easily manageable. Loved seeing how you trim but the frequency still has me SHOOK girl 😲 I honestly think I'd be bald if I trim that often especially as I tend to get scissor happy as well 😥😅 btw I tend to trim about 1 inch maximum each session since I barely do anything with my hair all year... hello lazy naturalista 😂😉

I usually do every 3 months but I actually do it more often. I’m obsessed with clean ends but I still retain length
