They are both their own bands. Damn, just love them for what they do best and stop dragging them down via each other. Pearl Jam is way more diverse musically than some people are aware of. They have a very deep catalog.
      Arc
      Of a Girl
      Strangest Tribe
      WMA
Red Bar (sometimes called Red Dot)
      Lukin
      Yellow Ledbetter
      Down
      Soon Forget
      Parting Ways
      Aya Davanita
      Soldier of Love
      Last Kiss
      Hard To Imagine
      Bee Girl
      I'm Open
      Around The Bend
      Sometimes
      Bugs
Are just some of their deeper and more unusual songs. They don't lack range. Also the various members of PJ (just like with STP) have been a number of different side projects and bands, so there's even further range on their resumes. Only noobs heckle them about this supposed lack of range I keep hearing about. I heard it's challenging to listen to music with sh*t in your ears. And on that note it's surprising that you can even enjoy STP with all that ego gunk in there.
Interestingly enough speaking of range I was listening to a deep cut by STP, ''You Can't Drive Me Away''. It's one of their all time bests and wasn't properly released. So check that out (if you haven't already) instead of coming up with a lame rebuttal as to why you subjectively don't like PJ instead of trying to objectively convince me they lack range.
Their live setlists are consistently changing, whereas with STP they've long been locked into having heavy amounts of songs from Core and Purple, instead of a more balanced setlists from all their albums (well at least the first 5, after it's more hit and miss). But I feel that's just as much and more down to the demands of the fans to hear those time and time again over hearing their songs after that despite that their very worthy as well.
I hate these weak a** p*ssing contests. Do you feel more powerful by putting down these bands? I keep seeing these unnecessary contests pitting bands against each other.

they have a deep catalog of high level songs that compare to some of the greatest bands...out of the 90s I feel no other band has a catalog that is close to the consistent level of excellence and variety of this band. I think alice in chains has a great catalog, but the variety that stp has was unmatched...they also had a cool factor. The critics tried to put them in with the Seattle bands...stp was a cali band that forged their own way. even the covers they did were amazing. I really hope when the weiland movie comes out they finally get the credit they deserve that us fans have always given them ...the doors really got a huge lift as did queen when the movies came out a out Morrison and mercury. hopefully this movie does the same for them because they deserve it.

Legend’s is what they were. It’s not the same vibe without Scott. I think they need a new band name if they want to move forward.
That was a very special time in music, you can’t re-create it. It’s like a wonder of the universe that this band happened. Just grateful that it happened while k was on the planet. ✌🏻

I'm not a Pearl Jam hater by any means, and I love a few of their albums, but who in their right mind thought that STP was a PJ ripoff? They don't sound anything alike. STP has way more tang. Having said that, a million different bands tried to rip off PJ and STP, and all of them failed miserably. Puddle of Mudd? 3 Doors Down? All kinds of garbage bands tried to mimic STP.

Yup. It was a trend that bands did in the mid 90's. Green Day, Pearl Jam, etc. Kind of sad these bands were just faking it
