- In today's video we play the amazing QUINTA DO PERU. But we have a problem. Ebay pete has brought the rain with him and made out playing conditions awful!
Designed by the famous golf architect, Rocky Roquemore, the course has been open since 1994.
This “Parkland” par 72 course has been marvellously integrated into the landscape with the Arrábida Mountains providing a unique and outstanding scenery.
The course not only offers a strong challenge to the more skilled golfers but will please those who just desire to enjoy a nice golf round in the company of friends.
It is the venue for various international golfing events and was considered the 57th best course in Europe.

3:20 it´s actually "Ponte Salazar". The Vasco de Gama is the other bridge, further up the river 🙂.Played this course on saturday.

One suggestion Liam, could you put the date you played these places abroad? At least the month, just so we can see what the conditions are like at any particular time at these foreign courses. Great content though, pal.
Imo, you’re better than that ‘pampered pro’ Ricky Shiels, who’s latest video is at the Floridian, one of the most exclusive courses in the world with many of the best tour pros in the world members who use it as their base. Can see why he’s successful, showing places 99.9% of all golfers will never come close to playing. He played the Floridian which video he dropped today, after a podcast with the Tour Pro coach Claude Harmon lll, Butch Harmon’s son who coached 6 major winners as well as others like Ricky Fowler, who Claude helps, too. Watched the ‘break 75’ he does on the course (spoiler he doesn’t as usual, but to be fair, it’s tough and put up a really good showing…he’s just got the hand eye coordination and spatial awareness to be a top golfer😂.
You’re more relatable, even though I’m a 4 handicapper who’s played all over the world, he stand out being Blue Mountain, Phuket, Thailand, which did decline, but at the time, 2002ish, was supreme. Tiger had the course record, just before he turned pro (mother being Thai probably attracted him there), and when we turned up, BMW were hosting a Tournement, with BMW flags, banners and advertising boards everywhere and a plinth with the latest BMW roadster (think it was the Z4) on top for the prize for a hole in one. One of the best courses outside of the U.S. and Europe.
My ‘home course’ was Pleasington, near Blackburn, before I moved away. Great course, but sadly went downhill for a while, but they’ve spent a lot getting it back to where it was in the 2000’s when the Open regionals were there (which I played once out of 4 years, when they should only have had 3 (?) by the rules, but they were so impressed…but they haven’t come close to having it back, unfortunately). But also redesigning a few holes. Got a chance to play a while back and wasn’t totally convinced. Perhaps you could play to see what it’s like now most of the work has been done?
Strange how there’s so many UA-cam golf channels from the Greater Manchester area, too. You lot, Ricky, the 2nd best known Peter Finch, and of course who can forget Matt Fryer, with his hole in one…the first on UA-cam, by a UA-camr whilst filming I believe?
