Hi Maangchi, Your new hair style looks just great! I made a version of this today using dried apricots. They were small so I used half the walnut only instead of stacking two halves. I put dried sweetened cranberries along the row of walnut halves. They were so pretty! And delicious too.
wow it sounds very pretty and colorful! If you make it again later, upload the photo on my website. I'm interested in seeing yours and I think my other readers will also be impressed.
This morning, one of my readers made this with dried apricots. She posted the photo on my website. Really pretty. I hope your gotgamssam turns out great, too!
Yes, my parents were Lecturers at the 삼육대학교 when I was between 9-14~! I really loved Korean Food and culture! (I also learned how to speak Korean there!)
I tried it today with apricots, they were alittle bit too small so it was hard to roll but the result is worth the trouble because they are sooo good thank you for this recipe :D
Oh thank you Maangchi, this looks so delicious. The persimmons are not available here, but I love dried apricots. Such a healthy snack, thank you so much.
Yay as you were making this I was looking at my bag of dried apricots thinking that I could use those instead of the persimmons and then you brought it up. I can't wait to make this with some candied ginger :)
hey maangchi, for days i've been watching this video hoping that i could get hold of those dried persimmons, since it's really difficult to get them here, and u know what, my mum just got them from Thailand and im gonna make them now! and i have walnuts just in case.LOL...thanks maangchi for the great recipe!
Love these gotgamssam, they look so beautiful. And HEALTHY! I never see dried persimmons here in the West where I live. BUT, I have a persimmon tree. I wonder how one dries them. I set them on my windowsill to ripen and then just freeze the pulp for baking. Yum.
Thanks for everything you make and showing it to us who don't know how to cook and prepare these exotic food and dishes. I love to watch you, please more...
Wrap the apricots with proshuto ham and top with a dab of soft goat cheese and you'll have a platter fit for kings. A little wine and you'll be set! I can't wait to try this out with my uncle and his... How to put it? High class friends over over the holidays!
Oh, My! In my country we make candies - chocolate dipped, dried apricots stuffed with walnut! I love persimmons. Have a box of fresh ones. Need to figure out what to do with them, since they start to ripen all at once.
Thank you so much for this recipe. I will make it for my family and also what a nice gift it will make for the Holidays. Love and enjoy all your videos.
Lightly roast the walnuts first. I make my own persimmon fruit leather then wrap in lightly roasted walnuts. It is very yummy. I’ll try the Fuyu Persimmon next time. I’ll dry some for later. I’ll do that with my other persimmons too. I had some luck drying whole persimmons last year. Very tasty too. Not everyone likes persimmon. That’s fine, more for me. Going to blend in raisins this year.
After 20 years I just realized I have a wild persimmon tree in my back yard, well guess what I’ll be doing tmrw, and every fall/winter here on after. Lol bring on the cookies, breads, smoothies, muffins, and gotgamssam!
Maangchi, i just saw your recipe and it reminds me 'cevizli sucuk'. It's a Turkish dessert and it's very similar to this. You can check it out. And thanks for your recipe.. it looks amazing. I'll try it when i got the fruits.
WOW NICE HAIR CUT!! WELCOME TO THE SHORT HAIR GIRL WORKING IN THE KITCHEN CLUB :-) this dessert looks delicious. thank you for sharing how to cut the dried fruits.. very inspiring.. some new ideas and tips for my baking :-) Love from Japan

Hey, I posted this on the website too, want to make sure I get the go-ahead before proceeding with this idea. I've been buying frozen persimmons at a local grocery store, just to nosh on. I wonder if I defrost them and let them get all soft and squishy if I could then use them for this recipe. They usually defrost very quickly and are also reallyt good in salads. (I googled persimmon, which is how I found your site. Thanks!)

The persimmons must be too dry. Add some honey inside the gotgam to make it sticky before rolling. Choose softer gotgam. : )
You can also do this with dried figs. That's how we do it in Turkey. Turns out so delicious! Thanks Maagnchi, for another beautiful recipe.
